Review: Pros:
this barrel is a great buy for the money, i bought mine for $75 from a proshop! It performs great in the woods, and is very accurate. i found that it was able to shoot a ball about 50 feet further than a flatline on a similar custom 98. accuracy is about the same as a flatline up to about 80 feet, and that is when the Apex system really hits it stride, able to fire with a certain degree of accuracy up to 130 feet or so. the Mil-sim look is cool, adding a bad ass look to a cool gun. the front sights are high enough, that -with the addition of a sight rail- i can actually use them with with goggles on! It is also very easy to clean if you do break a ball, which is rare because you can shoot cheap paint through it consistently and accurately!

UPDATE: This barrel is UNBELIEVABLY accurate!!! once you have a feel for its firing characteristics and the spin it puts on the ball, it is unmatched from 50-90 feet!!! overall distance still owns a flatline!!!

Cons:
it is fairly heavy for being made mostly out of plastic. it is a long and fat barrel, making it a pretty big target for speedball. because of its decent weight, it throws the balance of the gun off. i have concerns about the durability of the plastic used in the grip, though nothing has been broken yet, i would not be surprised if it did. you will have to shoot lots of paint through the barrel to get a feel for the curve on the shots, and what each different setting will do to the ball. it takes some practice before i would recommend playing a game with it.

UPDATE: the BT bungee sling clips onto the sling clip on the bottom of the front sight. any sharp pull on the bungee sling will move the front sight, making aiming difficult. although the set-screw is easy to access, it is a pain in the ass having to adjust the sight after an hour of abuse.
Conclusion: The sticker price is steep, but i got mine for cheap, so i am happy. after getting used to the characteristics of the barrel, it is amazingly accurate, and outperforms any flatline. durability is still a question in my mind, though i have fired at least 2000 balls through it, in at least 5 different games without any damage or issues. i highly recomend this barrel for the Mil-Sim player who expects excellent performance and badass looks. go buy one! or two!

Review: Well i used this barrel for one full day and it dominates in the forest.

Its a little pricey compared to the original Apex barrel but well worth it. on my Alpha it looks more like an M16. Its got metal iron sight with adjustable aimer and the handguard is 1inch longer and made with durable plastic.

I found setting 4 to suit best which is like a flatline shot with no drop. I was able to hit people from alot farther away than they could hit me. But the forest we played in was dense with lots of ATV trails that were curvy. Once i cranked the barrel to level 8 turned it sideways down a curved trail and hooked a ball right into someones facemask!

I tried using 2 kinds of paint. JT tacticals which are horribly dimpled w/seams and garbage fill...they werent so accurate. then switched to a higher quality that just sailed the balls straight as an arrow.

Highly reccomend this barrel. im giving it a 10 and it does weight a bit more than normal barrels but its no big deal.
Conclusion: Get this barrel its the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Review: I got this barrel for $75 used on ebay and was impressed with the look. Afters shooting it, I recognized that the ball goes down when it comes out of the barrel, then comes back up and floats. While still very accurate, this becomes a problem when shooting prone and trying to zero a sight with this barrel. After getting used to this effect, this barrel is very accurate and has awesome range. The curving and dive bomb effects are impressive in target shooting, but I have yet to use them in a game. This barrel chops maybe 5 balls out of 1000, but it often just shoots through most chops with no problems. This barrel is well worth the money.

Edit 12/2
The apex in general is way more accurate if you use a lapco apex ready barrel or use a home mod to mount it to the end of a barrel. I got the lapco and have noticed a drastic increase in consistency and accuracy.
Conclusion: I recommend this item both for its look and performance on the field. I would target shoot with it though before playing in a game to get used to the different effects and settings.

Review: Okay 1st things 1st, I love this barrel. It looks cool and acts better. it is a barrel that can hit enemies behind bunkers. I have had only 1 problem with it. A week after i got it the front sight broke. the bar on it that keeps it on the barrel broke(1 of them). i have had a few barrel brakes with it but nothing fancey. it also has great looks to it..
Conclusion: I recomend this barrel to anyone who likes milsim style or want a flatline. It only gets a 8 because of my personal sight problem.
