OPSGEAR® presents the next generation of Military Simulation modifications -- The G36C Shroud. This shroud is part of the Opposing Force™ brand of paintball modifications inspired by the force-on-force training offered by OPSGEAR® to military and police. These modifications are designed to replicate the dimension, weight and durability of firearms used in real-world operations, allowing operators to train with marking guns nearly identical to their real weapons. In addition to their less-than-lethal training application, these parts are offered to the civilian recreational paintball market for safe use in sanctioned fields and facilities. This is one amazing shroud. build quality is amazing, it will definately take a beating. mounts to the a-5 by using one of the stock push pins and replaces the topmost nut closest to the barrel wtih a longer one to accommodate the shroud. was fairly easy and straight forward to install. the look and feel of this shroud is also topnotch. it does add a little bit of weight, but nothing most paintaballers cant handle. i also felt that the price of it should be about $35 cheaper, somewhere around $100 would have been nice. the plastic rails seem sturdy enough, but the fact that they were plastic and not metal, especially for a $140 shroud, is still a concern. also this shround will only work with a offset hopper or accessory to offset your hopper. i have the low profile x7 hopper on mine and let me just tell you, its a tight fit. its fairly difficult to pull the hopper off due to the fact that the shourd doesnt allow the hopper to rotate the notch out of the locking slot. also since the shroud is pretty much a gun cover, it leaves a small gap between itself and the gun right around the cocking handle. this doesnt allow the handle to stick out as much making it a little more difficult to grab.
Conclusion:
All and all this is still an amazing shroud. a must for any mil sim players. if you can get past the few tiny annoyances(and i do mean tiny) the i highly reccommend you give this shroud a try.
Tippmann A-5, G36C shroud, e grip, lapco 12in bigshot apex barrel, apex tip, m4 stock, bsa red dot scope, tacamo remote coil, G36C magazine kit, trinitiy bolt and power tube, hopper offset, ricochet hopper, two pressure point grip
Strengths:
Very durable, somewhat lightweight, looks awsome, and real.
Weaknesses:
Could be heavy for some people, the screw alignment was off a bit,
Review:
The shroud makes the gun look realistic as can be. If you like the milsim look its perfect. Although it does add alot of weight to the marker. It also makes the marker seem alot larger. Having a folding stock may help abit. The alignment with the holes and screws to fit the markers were off a little. I bent the bracket to make it fit.
