Review: I had had my gun for a few weeks and was looking around at this frame for a while and researching it. When the nppl huntington beach came around i made my decision that i needed this for my gun. Sure enough when i got home and tried installing myself i had came across a problem that i couldnt get my solonoid to fit in place correctly and that caused my trigger to sit all the way pushed back. A few days later i took it to the shop and they solved that the manual had given the wrong lp hose lengths for the frame , after that was all sorted out we got it all put nicley together and i loved the feeling right away it feels way better than the stock frame on my etek2 and i love magnetic triggers personally insteed of spring and other than that the grips are so much thinner. i have been using this since i started using my new etek2 and never had used the stock in a game i cant compare each but jsut shooting out in the yard i am able to shoot faster and more consistent then i had bdeen when using the stock frame. all the tiem i have used this i have only loved it more and more. also the other great thing is you can choose micro or optical trigger and set your style of ramp and choose between preset settings (nppl, cfoa, millenium, and psp) and finally you get to have training mode which is very fun to mess with.
Conclusion: I say if you have an etek and want an upgrade dont waste time with a zik kit or cure bolt right away first get the star frame you wont regret this purchase. this thing deserves no less then a 10.

ICD Bushmaster (tested)-not really all that similar
Marker Setup: Old Diablo/Draxxus (i think, given to me used) hopper
Etek w/ star frame
WGP 50/3000 air
Strengths: Smaller compared to stock.
Easy to program
Weaknesses: if it has one, I haven't found it
Review: When i first recieved this in the mail, i was like "wow" it just looks better than the stock because all those collor buttons on the back just look weird, so the LCD is nice..when i took off the stock from and was holding it, the stock seemed to weigh just as much as the estar when it was sill in the box, so obviously less weight...took it out to practice and just loved seeing the shots fired displace as i just let the paint fly...
Conclusion: even if you have to pay 200 or more, get it. Makes set up much faster and it really makes the etek a true ego

So I mainly use my Etek ego over my shocker. I seen that the star frame was becoming harder and harder to find since it was a limited run. So I traded my Shocker SFT and got the Star Frame for my etek. Upon receiving the frame, the packaging was nice and came in a metal box with screws for the etek 1/2, a qev, extra hoses, spare grip screws, dove tail adapter (star frame has a t-rail) and of course the board/installation manual. The grips on the frame and very comfortable and thin, so the ergonomics are better than the stock frame. Also the trigger is very nice, it sits on bearings and has no side-to-side play. The board that is included with the star frame is basically an ego7/8/9 and geo board. The software is different though. Just to mention, there is a new update from 1.00 with the 2009 rules. Installation was very simple, somewhat time consuming but only because putting hoses on barbs can be frustrating. And something I would like to mention is that do NOT tighten down your qev too much, a snug fit with two fingers is fine, my qev is stuck in the frame. Also, when installing make sure you cut the hoses so its just enough to go from the banjo/qev to the solenoid, if there is too much hosing then you will have a small gap between the body and frame. The qev adds some more cycling to the marker, but the etek solenoid is not as fast as an ego's so don't expect to hit 40bps on uncapped ramp. Training mode is also fun to play with. And on the field the trigger lets you rip, I get a nice consistent stream of 13-15 when I play and the ROF indicator is a nice feature.
Conclusion: Get it if you can, it's a great upgrade from the etek board and frame, it is very comfortable and the LCD board is extremely simple to use. I just hate how the grip screws were shorter because the screws scratch my solenoid and a new one is $100, if you get a hole in the solenoid, have fun paying for a new one. Only snug your grip screws lightly! I gave the star frame a 9 out of 10 only because I hate how the thinner grips don't come with shorter screws to help avoid solenoid damage.

etek 2 stock frame
Marker Setup: etek 2, star frame, zick kit, and cure 2 bolt
ion with virtue, cp trigger, shocktech drop with on off, tech t l7 bolt
Strengths: The trigger, weight, lcd screen, it is an true ego style frame, with more options!
Weaknesses: None now that the price went from 250 to 150!!!!
Review: This frame is awesome! I shot the stock etek 2 frame for many days of paintball, and had no problems. I really liked the the stock frame, but the my buddy bought an ego 9. So he let me use it in a couple games, and i loved the trigger of the ego 9, and the lcd screen is nice, and makes swithching modes really easy. So my local shop let me feel the star frame, and it felt just like the ego 9 trigger, and the frame is thinner like the ego 9, the etek 2 stock frame is thicker. So my local shop told me it could be mine for $150. You see these things on ebay for $200 plus. But my local shop said that planet eclipse is lowering the price!!!! All in all great product!
Conclusion: The board that it comes with is worth the 150 alone. But dont get me wrong! The stock frame is good to. I like the feel and ease of operation of the star frame
