Recommended Paintballs:
Stinger (cheap yet perfect match and good paint if it's fresh)
Strengths:
Pretty light and quiet as well. It shoots through breaks ok, but not the best
Weaknesses:
Doesn't clean well with the amount of porting or shoot through breaks well
Review:
Well there isn't much to say. It came stock on the em-1 many years ago, and mine did as well when i bought it used. Compared to a normal stock spyder barrel, it shoots great. I was actually suprised at how straight it shot when the right type of paint went through it. I've always thought of stinger as crap panit, but apparently it's the perfect match for this barrel. I was thinking about getting a new barrel, but after the last time i played using stinger, i don't think i'll buy a new barrel anytime soon
Conclusion:
If you have a spyder and you can find one of these for cheap (or if you have an em1, keep it) go ahead and keep it. Don't assume it's a bad barrel because it's stock or it doesn't shoot great with your pro paint. you just need the right size
Em1(black),12volt revy.,88ci malee,remote,12 inch Otp Premium
Recommended Paintballs:
Brass Eagle (seriously), JT, Rps (Marbs or allStars+SLAMBALLZ)
Strengths:
-Quiet
- Pretiy Accurate
- Good color for stealth
-works with small paintballs real well
-Performs better when you run hot water through it (less ball break)
Weaknesses:
- sucks in the cold
-Breaks a whole load of ballz if the wrong size paint
- 7. rateing
-after a ball break and when you squeegie the balls still go crooked
-only will take small paintballs (damn)
Conclusion:
Otp or who ever company makes this barrle did an alright job I think that the barrle should have had more effort put in it but I think it preformed pretiy well with my Em1 but I personally think that the barrle kinda sux because it only takes small paintballs
I am pretty sure this is the "custom" barrel that comes stock on the EM1. If it is not, then forget this review because I am reviewing the barrel that came with my EM1. It shoots very nicely and doesn't break many balls. For $70 retail it is really good but it doesn't compare with a boomstick or an otp G-3. It is a very light barrel. It weighs next to nothing; I barely feel it in my hand.
Weaknesses:
It breaks balls sometimes but that's only when I shoot cheap balls.
Conclusion:
For it's price, this is a great upgrade for spyder owners. It looks REALLY slick and shoots accurately with decent paintballs. It is not silent but it isn't loud either. I have the 12" and the porting only begins near the end of the barrel. Overall this is a really nice barrel and I reccomend.
