First off i'll explain what this vest is actually about. It uses a "molle" system. This is practically another word for "loop". There are loads and loads of loops on this thing that you can attach the BT Vest accorsies to (i.e bottle pouch, zipper pouch, radio pouch e.t.c). The actual accesories are sold seperately and have velcro straps on the back of them with attaching buttons so you can loop them through the vest and clip them up. The accesories stay on the vest, and are very sturdy.
The actual vest is insane, its pretty thin and not overly heavy but still offers a little protection. Protection should not be the reason why you want to buy this product however. It is ideal for walkon games and the high customization value adds to your personal style of play, this thing can hold over 20 pods on it, front and back of the vest. You can also use the loops to attach foliage to, grass, branches, the odd dead animal - whatever you want, you can wear.
I live and play paintball in England, so the sun god isnt all prevalent over here, therefore i cant efficiently comment on the "sweat" factor. However i have never broken into extra sweat due to wearing the vest and the "mesh style" fabric keeps you cool as long as your not wearing 3 layers of clothing. The vest is comfortable to wear, theres no odd bit of plastic poking you in the back.
Theres a "drag handle" which you can hold your vest with. If you do get too hot just take it off and carry it back to base camp using the handy handle.
There is also a name plaque on the back of the vest, just grab a sharpie and write anything from "spec ops" to "wanker". If you dont like it, you can take the plaque off due to its velcro hold. |
 |
| Conclusion: |
If you want a new, highly customizational vest that looks incredibly good i suggest you get it! Be warned however, the accesories could lead you to spend close to £100 or $120. Compared to other vests, due to the MERC not coming stock with any accesories, it forces you to decide what you want on the vest. This giving you the freedom not to buy anything uneccessary and hence spending less money.
Buy it - you WONT be dissapointed.
