The X36 Folding Stock provides a stable mil-sim platform and enhances accuracy. This folding stock optimizes performance in tight, urban settings and is convenient and reliable in the field.
Product Availability
The Tippmann X36 Folding Stock is newer, so it should be commonly available, both new and used. Check out the Places to Buy links below for places to purchase it new.

Marker Setup: Tippmann X7 w/ X36 Carry Handle and X36 Folding Stock
Strengths: Durable, Cool, Reliable
Weaknesses: Possibly prone to dents and scratches
Review: Attachment Point
The stock attaches to the body of the marker with two pushpins. The same pushpins that the endcap is held in with. The attachment point of the stock is made from one solid peice of machined aluminum and is very sturdy. Once the stock is installed it does not wiggle at all.

Folding Action/Spring/Hinge
When the button is pressed to make the stock fold it does so by itself. When the stock is in the locked position the spring is in tension and once the button is released the stock folds itself against the right (Cyclone) side of the marker around two sturdy pins. Because of the spring the stock stays folded and does not swing around.

Weight
Because the stock is a "skeleton" stock or "frame" stock and because it is made of glass filled nylon it is surprisingly light but obviously durable. This stock can take a couple of hits against rocks and stay intact but it seems like it would be easy to scratch or scar.

Problem
On a slip of paper included in the packaging Tippmann says that some markers may need modification to correctly install the stock. This modification consists of filing away roughly 2/32" of the grip or reciever.
Conclusion: I reccomend this product to X7 owners because it is light and useful. It is the best of both worlds when it comes to a stable shooting platform and a maneuverable marker.
