Review:
I never really believed in sights, lasers or red dots in paintball but since I started buying milsim-oriented guns I wanted to try to mount a red dot scope for kicks. I did not want to spend a fortune on one, thinking that if I got a direct impact on the front lens it would be a waste of money.
So I saw the DP130 at my local proshop and I was very skeptical since it was only $30. I thought "at that price what do I have to lose?". I expected the lens to explode at the first hit, or the unit to stop working after 2-3 games. Was I ever wrong! I have been using the same scope on 3 different guns for over a year in all kinds of crazy conditions (sand, snow, rain, mud, etc) and I have gotten many direct hits (well not that many, I am not THAT bad a player!) on the scope and it still works perfectly. It is easy to adjust, which is something I must do every time I switch guns.
I play with the protective caps on so that they act as "shields" to the actual lenses. Battery life is excellent as well, having changed the batteries only once after one year of use.
NcSTAR's customer service is also top notch. A few months ago during a game I lost a back cover (I highly recommend you secure them with some adhesive, something I hadn't done) and I wrote to them asking where I could order one in my region. Instead they actually sent me a PAIR of extra front and back covers!
Conclusion:
Awesome scope at an awesome price. Reliable and sturdy. Perfect for paintball.
