The Empire E-Vents 09 Goggle System is a new, low profile system designed to present the minimum target. Made of soft and flexible material for comfort, the streamlined design keeps you in the game by minimizing glancing/bouncing paintballs. The soft faceplate is reinforced by a flexible yet strong mouth guard which allows the front of the mask to flex on impact, but stops full paintballs from pushing through or lifting it up. It also protects your lips and mouth.
These goggles have a special venting system designed to work functionally with the way you breathe. The mouth vents are located so you breathe and shout through the vents rather than into a large mass of plastic or rubber as with other goggle systems. As your breath hits the front of the mask, it either exits directly or is deflected sideways and outwards. There are specially shaped vents which take the deflected breath and move it out from the face plate. These specially shaped vents project your voice and warm breath out to the sides, and not up into the goggle. As your breathing warms the front of the mask, it heats up dry air in the ‚demist guide‚Ě. This demist guide is specially designed to prevent hot moist air from your breath getting through vents in the bottom of the goggle. Instead, the heat is transferred to dry air in the demist guide making it rise and move up across the lens of the goggle. As this air rises, it draws in fresh, dryer air from the back and sides of the goggle. This allows you to have a flow of air across the lens to help avoid fogging, while ensuring no moist air gets from your breath into the lens area.
Side baffles in the faceplate prevent warm moist air from moving up into the goggle so your voice and hot air is expelled in the direction you want it to⦠out through the mask. The ear pieces are designed to cup around your ears so your ears can sit in a very natural position and your hearing with the goggle on is just like it was without the goggle.
Empire goggles come with removable soft ear pieces and an even lower profile faceplate for the maximum reduction in target, and ultimate ‚cool‚Ě factor.
The lens system is very advanced and optically correct. Although, at first glance it looks like a ‚flat lens,‚Ě it actually changes in thickness to maintain the best optical quality possible. The power imbalance, which means how your eyes see straight ahead, is 0.00 for both Spherical power imbalance and Astigmatic power imbalance (the value is so small it can‚t be read with conventional testing equipment). What does this mean? It means what you are seeing is really where you think it is, so you can be more accurate in your shooting.
The lens is an extremely safe and incorporates the quick release system. It can be replaced in seconds, yet is held very securely into the mask and frame. Unlike other quick release systems, the Empire E-Vents lens fits in under the nose piece. This means the nose area doesn‚t deflect in when shot, so it prevents the ingress of paint into the goggle under the lens. To further lock the lens into place, there is a ‚tongue and groove‚Ě around the edge of the lens and goggle. This prevents shots at the edge of the lens forcing paint up into the goggle and helps maintain a high safety factor.
The goggle has the ability to add the included visor or brow shield. These are made of flexible material and are easy to fit or remove without the use of tools, and with no other separate small pieces to get lost in your kit bag.
Each goggle comes with a high quality strap with silicone beading to help keep the mask from shifting on your head.
Clear Lens Included.
The Empire Empire E-Vents 09 is newer, so it should be commonly available, both new and used.
One lens, Price, lens scratched , rarely interior of dual pane fogs
I got this mask a few months ago with some of the money left over from my summer job, and is it expensive! This mask is $100, and for a good tinted lens its another $30. This mask has some scratchy padding, which I have replaced with some better padding found around my house. It has a pretty good view range, but it is nothing compared to the V-Force profilers. The quick change lens system is pretty good, I can change from my tinted lens to my clear lens in under a minute between games. The anti-fog works good MOST of the time. Lately the seal on the dual panes has been breaking, because sometimes the inside of it starts to fog, which you can't do anything about but just wait it out. Last time I was at the field before I got these, some kids permanently fogged, and they never cleared up in the 3+ hours I was there.
Okay goggle system, the lenses could be better, and so could the padding. I would buy it again.
Excellent peripheral vision - lense optics are first class
PRICE & poor construction.
What a disappointment!
From the moment I opened the box I was disappointed - only 1 lense - for £85 you cheeky buggers! The previous versions came with two thermal lenses - so why not this one???
Secondly, and most importantly, the construction of this mask was of very poor quality. The face-plate was distorted (bad mould) & consequently, getting the lense to fit was very difficult. I guess that the factory doesn't have any kind of quality control, because I could tell, even before I put the mask on, that something was not quite right.
Finally, what can I say - £85 !!! what a con! For something that is supposed to be a 'High-End' goggle system, I would say that there was vitually no effort made to produce a 'High-End' goggle sytem. Cheap materials & poor construction quality make for a second rate product - considering that you can buy the equivalent Helix system for £20 - what justifies the extra £60+??? Value for money??? Don't make me laugh!
HOWEVER, where it matters, the mask excelled. Superb distortion free optics made it a pleasure to use. Coupled with the ease with which you can change lenses, this makes for a very good mask.
Shame about the quality issues.
I have been a long term user of Vents products & I have generally been very happy with them. Not this time though.
The whole thing smacks of 'Lets see how much money we can bleed out of Rec-Ballers'.
I would dearly love to know what the manufacturers costs are - if anyone knows, feel free to reply.
In the mean time, yes, I would recommend this product, but try before you buy!
I have owned both a stock Tippmann mask and an Invert Avatar mask. The Tippmann was horrible (it came with my 98 custom) but I was very impressed with the Avatar. This mask is an even better version of the Avatar.
- Does not fog
- Has a flexible form
- Does not restrict voice or hearing
I won both this mask and my Avatar from the field I play at so price has not really been an issue for me. My Avatar was a great mask. It never fogged on me. This mask is basically just an improved version. I also won the terrapat version so it came with a smoke thermal lens. For those complaining it only comes with one lens, what do you expect? You only really need one anyway.
This mask is amazing. If you are willing to spend the money don't hesitate.
could have better vision
has rough padding ( is quite irritating ) not just a puss
JT makes a good mask with thermal lenses that is cheaper and more comfortable and has better porting. anyway save your money and get a different mask. If shopping for a mask I suggest trying it on before buying it
