| Review: |
After months of contemplation, I finally purchased this gun. I had also been considering the Spyder Shutter. Thanks to the reviews posted on this very site, I opted to go with the Piranha Pro TS G3. It arrived on Thursday and I took it out for a field test on Saturday.
The gun played well all day. After getting everything setup and running some oil through the gun, I went over to the range to fire a few shots and chrono. I am running on co2 and it was about 50-60 degrees outside. I had to crank the regulator up a few clicks to get the pressure I wanted (around 800). Running on the blue spring, I had to tune the velocity down about a full turn (originally clocked at 308fps - adjusted to about 278fps). My test shots at the range flew straight and accurately. The gun has a little bit of a recoil due to the blowback action, but the shots were as accurate as I could keep my arm steady.
While playing during the day, I didn't break a single shot until about the 3rd game I played. Once I had a break, balls were curving all over the place. I popped off the barrel and cleaned it out, but I could see paint back in the bolt area. After that round, I stripped the hammer and bolt out, cleaned out the paint, re-oiled, and went back out on the field. Went about another 4 games before another break. I think the breaks were a combination of the field paint (not great quality) and the stock barrel.
Overall, this gun played like a champ. I didn't have any major problems with it, and my shots were pretty accurate even with the stock barrel. I think an upgrade to a barrel system (considering The Freak or The Pipe barrel systems) is about all this gun needs from a functional perspective. Any other upgrades would just be cosmetic (grips, etc).
One last thing on this gun. I got an absolutely GREAT price on it (about $40 less than I could find anywhere else). They processed my order within hours, and I had the package in my hand three days later. |
 |
| Conclusion: |
This is a great gun for any player. I purchased this gun as a means of getting back into paintball. I used to play regularly about 4 years ago, and wanted to get back into the game now after having sold all my old equipment. This gun was a GREAT buy and is well worth the money I paid. It's a solid gun and I'm glad I decided on it over the Spyder Shutter. I played with a friends Shutter for one game while I was out on Saturday and just didn't like it as much. I would recommend this gun to anyone! |

Well where should i start!? Ok it is really awsome gun and has all ups and no downs! The stock barrel you get with it is really decent and will last you along time. There is absolutly NO CHOPPING!!! With the new Evolution2 Hopper i can shoot 16bps with no problem!! I also modified the stock trigger a little bit so that helps! On the feild this gun is really reliable. I have chopped one ball and it was only because it was rainy and i was shooting crappy paint but even then, all most like magic, the bolt cleaned it-self! Alot of times on the feild the reffs think i am shooting a full-auto and have gotten alot of compliments for this gun! I have taken on this guy that hated Piranhas(1 on 1) and he had a Black Magic Auto-Cocker, he was suprised on how decent they really are. Oh and one more thing shoot PMI Premiuim Paint! |
 |
| Conclusion: |
I say buy this gun if you can get the chance! This gun will not let you down! Piranhas are really cool and worth every cent so get one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I have a Piranha Pro TS G3 w/ 14" Tear Drop Barrel, Mako Storm Electric Trigger frame, Empire Re-load Revy, and I alternate between High Pressure Air and CO2 w/ anti-siphon. |
 |
Recommended Upgrades: |
-The barrel on this gun has a tight bore diameter, which helps with accuracy but aids in paint breakage. If you're using good paint, no worries, this barrel is nice and accurate and won't need upgrading. But paint from Wal-Mart will break in this thing all the time. A n 8" JT Barrel will shoot anything, even Wal-Mart's Paint.
-Get a revy. Start with a 12V for standard trigger frame. If you upgrade to electric trigger, consider getting the Empire Re-load kit (sound activated)
-Mako Storm Electric trigger frame (best upgrade for this gun)
-feed neck extension (if you go electric) |
 |
 |
 |
 |
| Strengths: |
-Very Upgradeable
-Nice paint job
-Good Price
-Quick to Clean
-Shoots Fast
-Consistent Velocity |
 |
| Weaknesses: |
-Slightly Long Trigger Pull
-Needs Oil Often
That's about it
|
 |
| Review: |
Before I upgraded this gun I was kind of disappointed about it because it kept breaking balls on me. But that was before I found out Wal-Mart sold crappy paint. After switching to some higher paint brands, this thing shot great without paint breakage. I use a JT barrel though, which has a higher bore diameter, and that allows me to shoot any paint, even Wal-Mart's.
This Gun works well with air and CO2. Anti-siphon for CO2 helps, but isn't necessary. I have had occasional problems with leaks, but all I had to do was strip the gun down, oil it, and no more leakage. The bolt and hammer tends to cock halfway without good lubrication. This thing just needs to be oiled often to keep it in good working order. I think that goes for most paintball guns though.
After adding the Mako Storm Electric Trigger to this thing, I've been happier than all get out with this marker. This thing can actually shoot at 15bps, crazy for a blowback, but paint chops at that speed. I can shoot at full auto with this thing set at 10-11bps without chopping any balls. I upgraded my 12V revy with an Empire Reload kit. The hopper feeds every time the gun fires (soud activated), allowing me to shoot well in full auto mode. |
 |
| Conclusion: |
I'd consider this more of a high-end blowback marker. I think this thing should be worth at least $300, but it is actually being sold for under $200 now at some places. Since I've upgraded this thing to electric, I've decided that unless I get an Auto-Cocker, it isn't necessary to buy another marker. With an Electric frame this thing kicks butt.
Spyders and Piranha's are about the same thing, so it doesn't matter which one you want to go with. I like Piranha's better though just because of the fact that I own one, and I like how I can call my gun a "fishy."
I give this marker an 8.7 out of 10 for nice accuracy, being upgradeable, and having an awesome paint job. |

| Review: |
I researched this gun and decided on buying. Let me tell you it is the best 200 bucks you can spend on a gun. The Pro Ts is a well built powerhouse. Out of the box you can shoot a respectable speed with a non-electronic trigger. The barrel is pretty acurate and the gun doesn't feel like it's going to break if it gets shot or if it takes a hard fall. I've shot at least 15,000 balls through this and looking back on it I realize this gun doesn't chop much at all. It's incredibly easy to maintain, just put 6 drops of oil in the ASA, dry fire about 15 times, and your done.
The main complaint I have is that the stock regulator is awful. PMI claims it to be adjustable but I've fiddled with it all i can and couldn't get it to change from 1000 psi. Also, the feedneck is welded onto the body to don't think you can get a clamping feedneck.
With my new CP regulator I have this gun set at 300 psi. That's near the range of those 500 dollar plus guns.
With an electronic trigger, reg, and barrel, this gun can take on any impulse out there (depending on you fingers of course).

This is a great gun. I borrowed this gun from my friend 3 times when my gun was broken. It shot so well. I saw this thing on the internet that from 108 feet, they shot 10 balls, and the furthest apart from each other was 16 inches. Thats how nice this gun is. I never thought they could make a nice Piranha. |
 |
| Conclusion: |
Again this is a great gun. Anyone should buy this gun for rec ball. Don't buy this if you play airball a lot. |

| Review: |
This is my favorite gun. I've used spyders, tippmans, zaps, and other similar guns....i think this one by far is the best. I've never got as many headshots with any other gun as i have with this one and i've only used this gun a few times. Even though its not a fully automatic, it seems like it is because the trigger is so light and even when firing as fast as i can, every paintball goes in the same spot as the last one. As soon as i saw this gun, i fell in love with it...and when i first used it, i never wanted a different one. I had one problem with this gun that just happened recently. I was at my friends house and after we finished playing paintball i left my gun outside with the co2 still in. All of the sudden my gun made this whistling sound and a piace from the handle sprung out and i lost it...but that was easy to fix, and it wasn't the guns fault....i shouldn't have left my co2 in the gun for that long. |
 |
| Conclusion: |
If you want a great gun thats cheap to buy and still more dependable than any other....buy this one..don't go out and buy a fully automatic just cause everyone thinks they're the best....they waste co2 and paintballs almost instantly...save money and get a better gun like this one. |

I shouldn't really have to say these things but:
-You need HPA. Don't waste time with CO2, you'll just end up wondering why your regulator is leaking.
-Get a barrel kit so you can have good paint-barrel match every game.
-If yours doesn't come with a beaver tail, for the love of God, get one or you'll end up scratching your lens.
-Motorized hopper. Even if you don't shoot fast. |
 |
 |
 |
 |
| Strengths: |
Very consistent airflow.
Easy to clean.
Fairly light weight. |
 |
| Weaknesses: |
The trigger pull is long.
The marker kicks a bit.
|
 |
| Review: |
I think this marker is a great first marker for the player who is looking for accurate shooting.
Appearance:
Aside from the splash pattern, the marker looks pretty plain, and it is. You won't be winning any awards for flashiest marker, but it's respectable.
Handling:
The marker is fairly light. With an HPA tank on the drop-forward, it naturally wants to point up. Because of it's weight, and the fore-grip, it's pretty comfortable to hold.
But the handle may become a bit uncomfortable after a while. There is a square edge on the bottom of the trigger frame plate which may irritate your hand if you have larger hands or hold it a certain way. But wear gloves, and you're fine.
Disassembly:
Disassembly is very, very easy and very fast. It's a simple marker, so there's not too much you can mess up. The only exception is the regulator which is not so easy to disassemble. But you won't have to do that very often.
Firing:
The trigger pull is a bit long, and can become tiresome after long periods of sustained firing. You can adjust the regulator and the spring to get the right balance of ball velocity and air consumption. You'll probably need about 500psi to successfully recock the bolt after firing.
This marker was not built for high rates of fire. Even with a motorized hopper, you're not going to fire very quickly with a mechanical trigger.
The marker is not extremely loud, but it's in the loud category.
Performance:
The marker performs very well for its price range. The airflow is very consistent, and with the right paint-barrel match, you'll find that the shots are also very consistent.
But if a ball breaks in the stock barrel, it doesn't clean out so well by dry-firing. You'll have to squeegee. I would recommend a barrel kit anyways, but the stock barrel does well with the right paint.
|
 |
| Conclusion: |
I would HIGHLY recommend this marker for a beginner who is looking for accuracy.
I would NOT recommend this marker for a beginner who is looking for rapid firing. |
