The 98E is 98 Custom with GTA accessories. For those interested in an electronic gun, the 98E comes equipped with the extremely popular E Bolt electronic sytem. With variable bursts patterns and fully auto capabilities, this is one of the most diverse electronic kits on the market. Included in the 98E, is the Double Trigger system. This insures lighter trigger pull for extended use without fatigue. Topped off with the 14" sniper barrel, the accuracy is improved to new heights, which is ideal for tournament play.
Product Availability
The Tippmann Proshop 98 E is older, so while it may be available used and in a few cases new, it is not commonly available anymore.

The best thing about this is that it's easy to maintain, thanks to the clam shell design. The trigger pull is adjustable, so you can make it so short that even if you have the safety on it will still fire. The batteries last a long time so you don't have to keep a huge amount of 9v's in your tool box. The modes, other than semi-auto, are nice to have as backups, but aren't really necessary. If you shop around, you can get it at a much better price than if you buy it at MSRP.
Weaknesses:
It's hard to find the right dwell setting if you're using the LP kit. The only problem with that is that it guzzles gas. The barrel is the first thing you want to upgrade. The wires connecting the battery to the switch are very fragile connections, so keep a soldering iron handy until you're used to it. If you use CO2 then you're in for a world of hurt.
Conclusion:
This is a really great gun for any level. Also, because not many people think about the electronic 98's, it's really unique. You should see the people that gather around me at the local field asking about it. Works like a dream. Just make sure you have a barrel plug/condom on it at all times because, as I said, the safety doesn't work if you have the trigger pull short enough.
This gun is great. You may want to adjust the level of fire down because when i first got it it out shot my hopper but just adjust the rate of fire down with the screw and you have a awsome gun that can compete with high-end markers.
Tippmann is always going the distance and there support is proven great.
Marker Setup:
Tippmann 98 custom proshop ,psycho ballistic dropforward , 98 ebolt, low pressure chamber , vertical t adapter. spyder expansion chamber i had it from my old gun so i said why not. Flateline and stone cold 2 20" barrel, 12 volt rev. a must have. i put about 600 into this gun so far and plan to go nitro after christmas.
Recommended Upgrades:
all of the above
Strengths:
The rate of fire is awsome and it's so adjustble. in speedball this product kills. and is also a great sniper gun in woodland ball.
Weaknesses:
you have to take the grip off to change the fire rate. not field stripable.
Conclusion:
Buy this most of my friends hate me for upgrading my gun expecally when there covered in my diablo paint which i also recommend. So. buy this and customize it to whatever you want the options are almost endless.

Review:
This gun is awesome... i got the sniper barrel a month after i got my 98 and i have too say, i noticed the difference and i still notice it today. stock barrel sucks and the 14" sniper is a great buy! The e-bolt it another great mod, it is better then the RT by far but i find it being a little to expensive. other then that this is the best gun i have used
Conclusion:
Great gun, if you dont wanna give up your 98 then get the e-bolt but if your not willing to spend the cash i say buy a new gun if you want an electric gun so bad and you can use an e-bolt for tourny play but you cant with an RT

This gun is a very good gun. My favorite part about it is the 7 firing modes.
1. Semi-Auto
2. Reactive
3. Turbo
4.Full-Auto
5. 3 Shot Burst
6. 5 Shot Burst
7. User Programmable
To set modes, just turn off switch and pull and hold the trigger. Then flip switch on. The light will be red. Then pull trigger 1 time, semi auto, 2 times, reactive, 3 times, turbo, 4 times, full auto, 5 times, 3 shot burst, 6 times, 5 shot burst, 7 times, user programmable. It's that simple. A 9 volt battery is required to run the gun. The battery will last up to 12,000 shots.
Conclusion:
All I gotta say is..... Buy this freak'n gun. It's awesome. You won't even bust paint with the Whisper or Twister Barrel.
