Available in six high polished anodized metallic colors. Stain- less Steel internals (mirror polished and matched). 2-piece wood grip. 13" micro honed removable aluminum barrel. Bottom line. Stainless steel braided hose. Each valve individually set for optimum performance.
The Arrow Precision Sterling STP is newer, so it should be commonly available, both new and used.
The gun is light and comes with 45 grip frame and rubber grips. about 7/8 inch stroke for the pump arm. Great acuaracy with stock barrel. SInce these are fairly rare, you probably the only guy that has one at your field, draws a lot of attentions.
THe gun is loud when shooting with stock barrel. The velocity adjusting is tricky, since you can only do it by changing the main spring, you can also use washers to increase the main sping tension.
I am using an AGD Flatline 68 cu inch 3000 psi nitro on my Sterling and I also purchased a 14" smartparts teardrop barrel for it (you can order from their website dirctly). Over all I am very satisfied and I just love the look on those guys faces when my pump gets them.
This is an awesome pump! Without a doubt, the best pump on the market. It's got such great accuracy it's amazing! The pump is nice and light and it looks beautiful! This gun performs nice stock and shoots out Diablo Midnight the best. If you play seriously in only pump tourny's, this is probably a good choice for you. It's like the angel of pump guns. I love this thing, I have eight guns: a 2000 cocker, 1999 cocker, automag rt, automag 68 powerfeed, shocker s/f turbo, kingman em1, pgp pump and a sterling stp. My sterling is probably my third or fourth favorite gun out of those. Mainly because of its accuracy and range.
Well, that's a lot of cash for a pump gun!
This is the best pump available. I love it so much. it just shoots so smooth its amazing!!! you can't feel any jerk or anything. the next pump is like an instant reaction, it's the perfect sniper gun! It performs perfect! I would recommend this to any serious player looking for an awesome pump that doesn't mind payin that much! I'd give it a ten but that's a lot of cash. You get what you pay for but that's still a lot....
Very accurate. The sterling has a very smooth and light
pump stroke. This in combination with the auto trigger
allows you a level of firepower that can easily match most
semis when needed. Prices are around $300.
A bit pricey, but it's only money. Most serious downfall
difficult velocity adjustment(you have to change springs).
This is easily solved by sticking a reg between the back
bottle mount and the bottom line.
I would reccomend this gun to anyone who wants the best of
the best. The only gun I would consider to be on par with
the Sterling is a tricked out Phantom, but I personally
think that the sterling feels nicer. This is purely
subjective. All you need to do is get the Sterling, buy a
Smart parts AA 16" and throw a WDP minireg on the back
bottle mount and your ready to rock. You will have a pump
gun that will surprise more than a few people and that you
will always be happy with. I've had mine for over 6 years
now and I've enjoyed every minute.
Get a nice Barrel and a sight. Also i would add a spring between the pump handle and gun body to avoid double pumping
Very Smooth pump action
Adjusting velocity is semi complicated.
Not very upgradeable
Hard to find parts
If you are in the market for a high end pump i would look into a sterling or a phantom. It is accurate, quiet and actually quite simple internally. It is good out of the box or with the upgrades I mentioned above. If this is your first pump gun, like it was for me then you will get hooked on the style of play.
