The Foehn from Deadlywind is a fully sculptured, 4-axis CNC milled aluminum body "shell" for the Ion. We start with 6061 aluminum and carve it all up! Rid yourself of the plastic jinx, for good.
The Foehn body shell includes the aluminum mainbody, aluminum tail plug (all black), and SS retaining screw. The 10-32 retaining screw can also be used to bolt your choice of "snatch grip" to the tail of the body, if desired.
Weighing in at 5.3oz, it is aerodynamically designed for a low coefficient of friction to help you move faster on the field.
We removed more material on the underside of the body than the stock Ion plastic shell, so you should have more room to mount your QEV without cutting or trimming the body*.
* Depends on the size/type of QEV
Product Availability
The DeadlyWind Foehn Body Kit is newer, so it should be commonly available, both new and used.

Ion, foehn body, ?aftermarket feedneck?, crossfire 4500psi/68cubic inch bottle
Strengths:
It is one if not the best looking body (in my opinion) for the Ion.
Weaknesses:
I could not install correctly at first. see review
Review:
My problems with this body were because I am not technically inclined.
When I got this body I could not install it correctly so I sent it back. They gave me a different version. Once again it still leaked. I sent it back and they made it so I could use the stock fittings but I had to give up the ability of the Bolt out back feature.
The bolt out back feature is a feature of the body not the stock Ion. I didn't really care about that feature because I like to check on other things when i do maintenance.
I'll give a 9 because I had to ship it back twice. Deadly Wind was good to deal with. They didn't make me pay for the shipping when they shipped it back.
Conclusion:
Buy this if you want a great looking body. I bought it because it resembles the Shocker and Automag.
