The RAIDERô M82A1 Shroud is one of the most dramatic modifications to meet the Tippmann Model 98. Not only does this addition add tactical function to the marker--adding the ability for scopes, bipods, lights, lasers, grips, and more--but it does so with style. Combine this shroud with the other M82A1 inspired components to create an incredibly durable, functional, and intimidating Milsim sniping machine, or match the shroud with other quality RAIDERô products to create a marker all your own. Features include:
Light-weight steel construction (less than 2 lbs)
Mounts to marker frame allowing for easy barrel exchange
Designed to fit most stocks (including the 6-position and M249 stocks)
Length: 25 inches
Olive-drab matte powder coat finish
One year warranty
Made in U.S.A.
The OPSGEAR Raider M82A1 Shroud is newer, so it should be commonly available, both new and used.
I ordered this puppy with the intention of making it part of my main setup, along with some of OPSGEAR's other top-o-the-line equipment. This thing just screamed "Sniping Hell-Demon!" to me, so I went with it. I had to wait a while for the shipping, but when it finally arrived at my house I immediately attached it to my gun. Here is where the reviewing begins:
I found the the shroud was lighter than I thought it would be. Considering the whole thing is made out of steel, I was quite pleased with its weight. I had some difficulty trying to attach it to my Tippmann 98 Custom's rails at first, but I found the trick to it. Simply back the verticle screws out until they don't poke out on the inside of the shroud, then simply hook on one side and pull the other side down. It creates a lever which pulls the shroud down and into place. Then you have to tighten the screws from opposite corners or else you're shroud will not be straight The shroud looked awesome! It kind of reminds me of a Tiberius 9 when I don't have the sight or hopper attached. However, it is much scarier, and is COVERED with rails, so there is no end to options for accesory mounting. Nice!
But there were some Con's
Once I finally got my shroud attached I tried to put the stock that I purchased on. The style of stock I purchased required that it main body be removed from the backing-plug that goes into the back of the 98 (because of Anti-Rotation that kept the stock from spinning). When I tried to put it in I noticed that the stock was about 3mm too tall for it to fit. A damn fine waste of $80, but that's how it goes. Because of this, only stocks that have the round plug thing that goes in the back of the 98 at or very near to the top of the stock will fit under the shroud. Also, like everybody else says it tends to scratch up the rails on the 98, but I honestly couldn't care.
EDIT: After a few games with this shroud I decided to sell it. It was very heavy and really wasn't working for me. Unless you are playing woodsball i wouldnt suggest getting this, awesome though it is.
My final conclussion for this product was that it kicked my ass, and will soon be kicking everybody elses. If you want intimidation, function, strength, and customisation all in one upgrade, get this bad boy. Remember what I said about installing it and you should have an easy time, just make sure you have allen keys. Finally, cross check that all of your accessories and equipment will actually be compatible with it before you blow your money.
I give this product a 10 becuase all of the pros outweigh the cons (most of which were human error). This doesn't mean that the product is perfect, but it's purdy dang close!
EDIT: I am changing the rating to an 8 because of its weight and how cumbersome it is.

closest thing was the a5a2 from special ops paintball and this is not even close
14" pathfinder barrel
special ops paintball commando air thru stock
OPSGEAR m82a1 shroud
OPSGEAR m82a1 carry handle
swiss arms red dot sight
Very durable, doesn't move or wobble even with lots of weight
None that I can tell, getting it on was less work than I had heard
Picked this up from the OPSGEAR online store when it was on sale(35$ closeout YAY!) It shipped very quickly and i was impressed. What I was not impressed with was the lack of instructions for installation. After digging around on the opsgear website i saw the a5 version instructions and that helped me get it on right the first time. And for all of you that say it digs into your rails, IT DOESNT IF YOU PUT IT ON RIGHT! All around good shroud with many strong rails that hold my sight and grenade launcher.
Very high quality and a must whether you are a sniper or the team grenadier.
