The Lower half of the reg is a beautiful stainless steel. The upper portion of the reg is aluminum which allows it to be anodized to the color of your gun. A Thumb Adjustable Quick Twist is included for easy adjustments over a chrono. An out-put gauge is included so that you know your regulated pressure. This is important to know so that you can make sure the Gen-X is operating efficiently. Finally ANS used there patented Phase II valve face which allows unsurpassed recharge times.
Product Availability
The ANS Gen X is older, so while it may be available used and in a few cases new, it is not commonly available anymore.

Strengths: - the gun is extremely accurate with the all american barrel
-very quiet. so quiet that people can't hear you shoot at them which is an always accepted bonus.
-gen-x 2 regulator...
-all ANS stuff.
-mine has vertical feed. most don't though.
high rate of fire if you know how to shoot a cocker.
-very smooth trigger pull.
Weaknesses: - you cannot really do too much to the gun as far as upgrades go because of the fear of offsetting the timer. this is true with any cocker though. it just sucks when the timer goes off. but the gun is already pretty maxed out as far as hardware goes and performance. the only upgrades you need are just for looks.
- it's pretty heavy. about 10-12lbs with a 4500psi nitro tank. doesn't seem like much but when you're playing for about 4 hours running around, it gets to you.
Conclusion: i would recommend this gun very strongly to an experienced player. the gun will never really let you down unless you do something to the front block or something. with this gun you definately have the upper hand in firefights and stuff.

Strengths: This gun is a fascinating piece of work by ANS. They made this gun hard to upgrade right out of the box...even though it's fun upgrading, it's got everything great on it already....the qucik fire 45 frame, vertical feed, A.N.S Quick pull venturi bolt, the A.N.S Gen X Reg, and more...I can't believe how sweet this gun is...BUY ONE!
Weaknesses: The only this bad about this gun is that sketchy 3D Phase II barrel...otherwise the gun is great...if you get this gun, all you have to do is get a 12 in custom products barrel or a J&J Ceramic barrel and you'll be shooting marballizer like you've never shot paint before...
Conclusion: Do you want one? Did I persuade you enough? If you happen to find one, you better get it now...they are going fast...I guarentee happiness with this gun... You'll be throwing paint so fast...it might even catch up to the elecs...

Strengths: '99 verticle feed A.N.S. Gen-X 'cocker
very good marker. shoots very fast and very accurate. it has a good solid feel no plastic parts here. the trigger pull is nice. short, snappy, and fairly light. trigger pull about 3mm in length. and the marker cycles fast.i got mine in a verticle feed setup with only a 9-volt feeder and i out shoot it easily. velocity is adjusted through the regulator.you cannot adjust it's velocity any other way. there is NO velocity adjustor behind the cocking rod. need higher fps dial the reg a bit higher. but don't go over 300psi. if your at 300psi and shooting low still just a quick and easy change of the spring and you can get up to speed. my f.p.s. always stays 285 give or take 3 fps @ 250psi. a part of being a consistant player is having consistant equipment and if this is one thing it is consistant. this is a good marker for a front player for snap shooting. or a back player for layin on the spray. i love this marker.
Weaknesses: nothing bad here! well maybe a nicer barrel but with all the other stuff that this markers got i really shouldn't complain.
Conclusion: once you get the marker the only thing that you have to upgrade is a barrel. it comes with one and for a "stock barrel" (made by a.n.s) its good but i still suggest one. i get about 600-650 shot out of a 47c.i. n2 tank. which is good i think. how does this marker compare to other 'cockers? well it's not a free-flow. but it doesn't carry that $1200 price tag.but it is much better than all the cockers that i have seen in it's price range.the STO is toylike to me. i gues it's the plastic grips. and all the other ones came with out regs, barrels, air adapters and such so thats just more money you have to spend before you can play. the Gen-x is ready to rock out of the box. just ad air or CO2. and like i said before that you get a lot of bells and whistles for your money. would i recomend it? if $700-$800 is what you want to spend - hell yeah!! it's a great gun for it's price. and remeber that you get what you pay for. with this marker you get that and a bit more.

Products Used:
tippmann a-5, louder but lighter
angel speed, much lighter and alot faster but thats to be expected in an electro
Marker Setup: ans gx autococker w/ sub zero reg, custom milling and anodizong(makes it lighter) i had it converted to nitro (thats how old it is i guess), dye barrel, and double trig. and rosewood handles.
Recommended
Upgrades:
definately a new barrel, stocks good but aftermarket barrels is the way to go
sub zero reg
GET IT ANODIZED OR IT WILL RUST TO HELL(not right away of course but it will happen)
Strengths: It shoots consistently
Fairly accurate with stock barrel
Weaknesses: Eats air like fat kid after gym class(just a metaphor no of.)
Shoots slow
Review: i think the body of the gun was sorta plain so i took it in and had line patterns milled into it. i dint like the color wen i bought it so along with the milling i had it annodized blood red. the trigger sucks so definately get a double trigger or new trig frame. a sub zero reg is definately sumthin to look into, but the gun shoots fine without it, before i ferget DONT EVER F_CK WITH THIS MARKER(unless you know wat urr doing ) becuase itll mess everything up becuase everthing has to work in unison.
Conclusion: Definately good for the money but get the gxe if you can it shoots faster and is much lighter

It is not similar but....shoot like hell.....My scorpion...CP barrel Zebra bolt custom trigger work ex.chamber low press. chamber turbo valve dye sticky grips...spring works(all works done by me...i`ve f***d it sometimes but i knowed some tricks for markers) and CP craddle nitro duck 68ci 3000
Marker Setup: Right now i own an Gen.X autococker...shocktech delrin bolt dye titanium barrel kapp craddle ACi on/off macro line and system eclipse(eclipse valve, electronic trigger..shoots fast as hell...my halo doesnt feed my beast right..and antichop eye custom install)And anodized work( red gold and chrome)
Recommended
Upgrades:
This cocker is good out of the box but needs a better barrel,.. like boomstick or a little lightweight titanium..and if you want velocity...good consistance from shot to shot..an eclipse system is for you. A good hp tank is recommended for.
Strengths: It is the better marker i ever seen... all cockers are incredible spitting monsters. They are quick firing demons.
Weaknesses: If you dont know what are you doing to a cocker dont do anything. they come out of timing and this could be a very frustrating thing to you.Sometimes when you upgrade(valve..regulator..internals or 3 way..etc.)timing it has to be performed
Conclusion: It is the best marker you will have if you know how to work with them.It will make you kick some ass if youre not....it is not the gun its you
