All different kinds of barrels for my A-5s
Marker Setup: I own 4 Tippmann A-5s. OneSmart Parts Ion for speed ball. I have 4" 12" and 16" Cseries barrels from Special Ops. Sly barrel for my Ion. Tons of upgrades for all of my markers.
Recommended
Paintballs:
I have shot about 5 or 6 different kinds through my barrels and like usual the more expensive fly better but does ok with cheap ones.
Strengths: Very Very light, Mid priced, quite, shots straight, threaded end is nice
Weaknesses: Dosnt shot through paint as good as some
Review: I have tried ALOT of different barrels for my A-5s. I bought my 16" barrel from special ops to go on my long A-5 marker. I love how there are threaads on the ends. I was very very pleased how accurate it was and how quite it made my marker. When it was time to buy another barrel for a different A-5 I wanted something very very short. When I saw that Special Ops came out with an adapter for the Apex I had to try it. I purchased a 4" a 12" and the adapter and loved all of it. I was totally blown away how accurate the shorty was. I wasnt expecting much having shot a shorty barrel before but was blown away. If you want something really short with alot od distance you cant go wrong with a 4" C-Series and a Apex. Looks friken awsome and shots better then most cheap 12" barrels. I highly recommand any of the C-series barrels.
Conclusion: Super strong, very quite, good price, accurate, cant go wrong with these barrels

Marker Setup: (Previous to adding the c-series 4")__ Tippmann A-5 w/ BT-Apex barrel, Tapco MP-folding stock, X7 hopper, e-grip, and remote coil
Recommended
Paintballs:
medium to high grade of course
Strengths: Very light ( weight on shoulder) accurate, durable, quiet, shoots even w/ broken balls, well priced
Weaknesses: Hassle to clean without water. Longer tips catch leaves and other junk.
Review: When I screwed this barrel onto my gun and tryed it out, I was instantly very fond of this barrel. I bought a 4", but also bought [on Special Ops] a apex c-series adapter. This allows me to screw the Apex tip on whenever I want. In close quarters, no tip=short, manuverable barrel. A little farther off or somebodys hiding behind stuff, put on the Apex. It adds to the barrel lenth and accuracy, and because I have a 4", which has a higher muzzle velocity. The ball goes through the Apex faster and will spin more rapidly.
Conclusion: People say with a four inch you lose alot of accuracy, but now that you can screw an Apex onto your c-series, you can now greatly increase range & accuracy, whenever you don't need a short barrel. Overall, I would reccomend this product to everyone. Even if you can't afford an Apex to add to it. Accuracy, durability, and silence. I never give 10's so I give this product a 9 with the Apex tip and a 8 without it.

Strengths: Light, quiet, cheaper than other carbon fiber barrels
Weaknesses: Large bore
Review: I just recived this barrel and I am very impressed. it is far lighter, and much quieter than my thunder pig. the only downside I can see is that it has a large bore so smaller paintballs may not be very acurate. I fixed this by buying the cmi a-5 barrel bore sizing addaptors ( you can get it at doropaintball.com ) so I could match and paint. used togerther you get a light weight, quiet barrel that is very accurate for less than the cost of a regular stifi.
Conclusion: when used with the bore sizing addaptors I would give it a ten, but alone I will give this barrel an 8

I cannot recommend any particular paint as I have not used the barrel in action yet
Strengths: Extremely light weight
Accurate
Just looks darn cool!
Weaknesses: None to date
Review: I just received my SpecOps C-Series 12" barrel today and ran about 100 rounds through it on my A-5 with the E-grip's firing mode set on "Turbo". The barrel not only performed like a dream, but it actually showed better consistency when the trigger hit the "burst" which surprised me. I alternated between my Smart Parts, J&J, and Custom Products barrels for a little head-to-head competition but there really was no comparison at all. The closest to the C-Series was the Smart Parts, but even at $30 more the SpecOps barrel was of measurably greater value based solely on its accuracy. I shot great groups at 30ft and 50ft with little seperation and no stragglers (those wandering paintballs that appear to have an objective all their own). The barrel appears to be very well-made, which I anticipated, and looks great with the 'Suppressor" barrel tip. I have heard that composite barrels are supposed to be quieter, but I didn't notice that much of an advantage over the others.
Conclusion: Without hesitation, I would recommend this barrel to any woodsball player. I like it so much that I am going to order a 16" barrel and put the 12" on my BT-4. The only reason I didn't give the product a 10-rating is b/c I haven't tested every barrel out there.

I've used Scorch with it, both packs slightly spoiled but it still fired perfectly.
Strengths: light weight
cheaper than the Stiffi
very accurate
quiet
Weaknesses: not out for the 98C yet
recommended get a barrel tip
EDIT: bore size .691
Review: This barrel is awesome. It's longer than the stock barrel by 7.5 inches and it's lighter. I first used it in windy conditions in a two on one (I was the one) and I was very close to a head shot when I got the first person out and I got the other person out from about 20 yards.

I would seriously reccomend one of the tips, not for the looks, but because it'll protect your barrel. I scraped the tip on a rock the first war (I wasn't quite used to the new, 16" length yet) and now the threads on the tip are slightly smashed and the carbon fiber is a bit scratched. (Horrible on a brand new barrel).

Besides that this barrel is absolutely perfect.

EDIT: OK, after using this barrel for a while, I have come across one flaw that reall bugs me: the bore size is too big. This barrel is still really accurate, but it's just not that easy (at least where I live) to find paintballs that fit into it. It cuts down on velocity, therefore decreasing distance and making it not as accurate as it could be. For example, my friend got a Smart Parts Freak kit, and he was shooting further than I was it seemed like and we were at about the same velocity.

So, yeah, I'm starting to not like this barrel as much just because the bore size is massive.
Conclusion: Accurate, basically the same as a Stiffi, but about $40 cheaper. The only flaw is that the barrel is slightly weak, but the kevlar it is constructed with I'm sure really helps this problem. Get it, but get a barrel tip at the same time.
I gave it a 9 out of 10 because of its weakness.

EDIT: I'll stick with it's 9 out of 10 just because it's still a good, cool barrel even though the bore size is big.
