2007 spyder xtra
rest is all stock
for sure a feedneck.
and if you have the money a electronic gun. (will explain in review.)
Ready to go out of the box
Look pretty cool
Easy to clean
Was shooting hot right out of the box
A little on the heavy side
alright here we go.
i got this marker with a package (i wouldnt suggest you do that cause usually the package isn't what you want in the end and you spend more on buying the things you want anways)
i read all the review on here and on the website that i bought it from, it looked like a good deal from what i picked out. i got:
the marker, 20 oz co2, barrel sock, 2 masks, and podpack all for about $160 (give or take) anyways back to the review.
i got it in the mail and the first thing i did was took it out of the box and admired it, it looks alot better than the older spyders it has great annozdizing (spelling?) i got mine in matte black so it looks nice.
now to the pros and cons.
Pros: great begginer marker, easy to maintain, easy to learn how to use a paintball marker accuracy is alright with stock barrel, everything is mechanical which means you can take it apart and not have to worry about wires and electronic stuff, the package includes 1 marker, 1 barrel plug, 1 allen key, the plastic feedneck adapter. so basicly just add paint, air, a mask of course and a hopper and your ready to play with it. but first crono it as it shoots hot but ill get to that in a second. now this marker as i said before is a great started gun its semi auto, which means 1 pull of the trigger shoots out 1 paintball easy as that, cant get more basic than that, oh and it also has plenty of up grades for it.
Cons: slow rate of fire (ROF) its a semi-auto so one pull = one ball out of the barrel, its heavy, but not as heavy as a Tipman. the feedneck is just crap, i think i used it once and decided to get a clamping feedneck, which works a lot better.
its hot right out of the box which means it will shoot above the legal limit of 300 FPS. the barrel which is alright if you go like once a month or something. it is very loud, but then again its only i think 100 bucks. if you want to upgrade it you must buy spyder threaded barrels, which suck but its doable, but you can also turn this gun into a electronic marker with the spyder upgrade but i dont know if you want to do that cause its upgrade is almost as much as the marker its self haha. oh and one more thing the box doesn't come with any type of lube for the gun
all in all its a great little marker to get into the sport of paintball, its not the best but it will do for a little while.
however with that said i would just go and tell you to buy a electronic marker something simple like the smart parts vibe (nice little gun) or even if you have a little more money buy a Proto SLG, but the Spyder xtra is a great little gun will last you a long time, plus you have a great company to back you up (spyder) easy to maintain and clean.
im giving it a 10 because the only problem was the feedneck and thats just an easy fix .
Spyder TL-X with 14 progressive barrel (sold it)

Tippmann Camo 98 Custom with 20 inch Tactical barrel (woodball)
Tippmann 98 Custom 14 inch Progressive and pen spring mod (lender gun)
Barrel (pretty much any barrel)
Hopper (DO NOT GET A QUANTUM)
pretty much personal prefrence
Light, Grips, trigger,reliable,tough
feedneck, Stock barrel
Weeeellll ive had this gun for about 3 months and its been very good to me cept the stock barrel and feedneck have to go and if you you are on a budget this gun would be good because its durable (threw mine at a tree =( ) and its easy to maintain pretty much lube it if it messes up field strip it (very easy to field stip it a monkey could do it =]
i would buy this gun and just upgrade the hell out of it or if you cant its still a very nice gun to have one of my friends got this gun after me he pretty much spazed out when he got it XD i give it a 8 out 10
8 out of 10

Spyder Xtra J&J ceramic barrel, Fasta loader, Archon Ignition
Cheap, easy to clean
Stock barrel loud, kinda heavy, TOO FAST
I got this gun as the first marker I have ever bought. It was only $127 for the entire set which I replaced almost all of it anyway. I brought it to my feild and filled it up with paint. When I chronoed it it was way hot like 340FPS with the speed adjuster at extremely low. The ref had to cut my spring. After we had that straightened out I played my first game. The Barrel was inaccurate and loud, so no sneaking up on people while shooting. I never had a break that day out of about 1000 balls. Overall I was impressed with the gun despite the barrel and spring incedent. I'm getting the new trigger for it since I'm getting repeatedly blasted by friggen 3RBursting Vibes.
Overall a good starter gun. It is a Spyder so you can modify it past the hilt, so it is like the friggen energizer bunny, it can keep going, and going, and going...
spyder mr1 - a little more acurate
Smart parts ion - obviously a lot better
Tippmann 98 custom - just about the same
*spyder extra 07, 16" smart parts linear barrel, warrior clamping feed neck, e trigger, warrior roller trigger, stock hopper, 20 oz co2 tank
*spyder mr1, J&J 14'' ceramic barrel, rap 4 carbine stock , custom battle shroud, stock hopper, trinity clamping feed neck, 20 oz co2 tank
Tends 2 chop alot of paint(read in reveiw), busts o rings often
bought this gun on ebay for 70 bucks and i was happy with the performance. went 2 mcsports and bought some monster balls. of course they suck , but i never broke a ball, they just didnt shoot strait. i then decided 2 buy some higher end balls to test the guns real peformance. i bought some evil balls. i figured since they were expensive they had to be good. OH MY GOD NO, i had to have chopped over 3/4 0f the entire box of 1000. i had similar problems with marbalizer balls. ive had the best luck with stingers. bought the smart parts barreland was shooting paint within 5 inches of each other at 50 ft. after i bougt the e trigger i was suprised that i didnt chop any more balls than when firing semi. unless u r goin to fire on auto all the time, you really dont need to invest in a electro hooper. i hav a gravity hopper and i fire in 3 round burst all the time and dont chop that many balls. one majorly annoying problem i hav had is that the o rings around the expansion chamber and the one pointy thing that sticks out under the barrel( excuse me for my lack of noledge) keep breaking i dont know if thre is to much pressure or what, but nobody else seems to hav the problem. all i hav to do is just change the o rings a lot
Overall a good gun. great the way it is for beginers or upgradable for more experienced players, but honestly you should just try to save the extra 60 or 70 bucks and instead of buying upgrades just buy an ion
I was expecting more from this gun. It is very powerful, but its accuracy is horrible. Even the best balls curve with this gun. I have only had this gun for 3 months but I have already had to by new parts for it. It is not as durable as expected from a gun of this price. It is easy on CO2, but that doesnt make up for the poor accuracy and durability.
For this price, you should get a more durable gun.
