2006 empire 2 pillow bolt, bob lob drop , bob long cam drive, bob long clamping feedneck, cp barrel .693, ccm carbon fiber barrel kit .690-.693 bob long swivel reg
bob long dime gauge, dye rotor
barrel custom product, or carbon fiber kit, 4 eyes is 50 dollars, laser looks amazing, asa as none come with it
Light, looks great, accurate, fast
Can be too much for budget, need a lpr tester
I shoot a empire 2 but was considering a vice friend picked one up about two weeks ago and we traded guns for a day so i tested it out for 7 hours or about 10-15 speedball matches it is faster the my empire lighter and looks pretty good cleaned up easily never had a probelm shot at people and they were done i would say it a top of the line gun easily with a closer, ego as long as you are good and play hard no different i will wait for a used one around 400 in good condition and sell my empire 2
If you don't have the money wait for the price to go down for a new or used one year from now there should be alot of vices on the market in great conditon for 400-500 dollars i might wait for a closer but might get tempt if i seea vice for 400
I would say that this gun stacks up among any high end gun on the market today without hesitation!
Knight Rider edition Vice (Black with Red accents)
45/45 Crossfire HP tank
Vlocity Jr. XSV edition
Acidcustoms Carbon fiber trigger
Sly Barrel Kit
I would deffinetely say the ASA needs to be changed out for an on/off. Also a barrel kit because of the inconsistant sizes of paintballs. I prefer the sly because I am a small player and prefer the lightest setup I can get!
Size, Weight, Speed, Glam appeal.
ASA should be on/off from the factory, also the grips could be anotomically correct...
I had been in the market for a while for a high end gun and looked at just about everything BUT Bob Long markers. I was dead set on getting a used ego8 because the prices were pretty reasonable. I then was recommended a Vice because of a list of improvements over an ego in my opinion. The vice is very small, very fast, and very very light! I chose to get the whole bang when I got it. I chose to get the 4C eye upgrade, a barrel kit, a lpr tester, a carbon fiber trigger, and a Critical on/off asa. All of these items make the gun shoot like a hot knife though butter! The gun is super smooth, very quiet compared to every other poppet gun out there, and just feels like an extension of your arm that just happens to shoot paint out of it at a VERY high rate of speed!
Now I do have a couple of very minor personal issues with the gun. First would be the grips. The grips are standard panel grips, and are relatively sticky, but are not very comfortable in the hands. Something along the lines of a Dye grip you would find on a UL frame would be perfect! Second is the machining marks on the gun. It is not that big of a deal because when you are playing, you are not looking for milling marks. However some people dwell on this.
All in all this gun shoots t!ts and I am deffinetely happy with it! I give the gun a 9/10 because simply put nothing is perfect!
- 4 eyes ( if you use semi )
- Violent Bolt ( pillow bolt can be difficult at times )
- LPR TESTER!!!
-Very easy to walk
-LPR backing out
-Pillow doesn't work well with re-balls
-Dow 5 ONLY
-This is a great gun don't get me wrong I've only had it for a little while and i absolutely love it.
-Its a very easy gun to fire, ramping and semi and so easy to use, it almost makes playing to easy.
-The gun is also very quite, its quieter than my Ego.
-The is also light as a feather, and i just find it very easy to move around and maneuver from left to right.]
Where I've had problems:
-First off right when i got my gun i was seeing FPS from 290-130 in a single hopper. I had to buy an Lpr tester and buy some Locktite to stop my Lpr from backing out. I was pretty pissed off about this, the gun was brand new and having this problem? Thats unacceptable.
-Second, my team practices indoor over the winter and we use re-balls. Well my gun doesn't get along with reballs when i ahve the pillow in, When i use my Violent bolt things work better but still not that great.
-Third, this gun only runs to full capacity when you use DOW 55. I have Lurker lube and when i used it and went out to fire i was having a leak issues.
Despite the early issues I had with this gun (and i was about to write a mean gun review) i really enjoy using it now. Plus for 750 those extra bucks can get you all the upgrades i listed. Now after the adjustments i had to make the gun shoots amazingly, i have never chopped, or had a barrel break. The gun is just amazing!
4c eye system
low pressure valve
low pressure valve
a good barrell kit
No on/off for air
So I got this marker as a backup to my SL8R...so this review will kinda be a comparison of the 2.
Bob Long did a great Job with this marker. It is an Ego like marker for a bunch less money. First, I would say the milling and finish are 1st rate. It looks awsome and I didn't notice any flaws in it. It is a little heavier than my SL8R but not enouph to make a real difference.
Bob put a really nice clamping feedneck on this that I would say is better than any other I have run into. The barrell....well lets just say you need a barrell kit for just about every gun....except my SL8R which they charge for in the price anyway. Also the grips do kind of stick out a little that you do feel when you hold it. The marker does not come with an on/off on the asa...not a big deal, but if I had a choice I would like one.
So I gassed up the gun and attached my Velocity loader and took it into the back yard. My first impression was that it was incredibly easy to really get the trigger rolling, much like the SL8R. I then set it to ramp and boy did this thing rock. It was a little louder than the SL, but again no big deal. Bottom line I know I have an excellent backup for my SL8R.....
So I got all my gear ready and went off to the field to really test it in battle. The only problem I had was that I just couldn't get myself to put the SL8R down. While both guns are so close it shouldn't be a big deal to switch....But I feel like a paintball god with the SL. I guess I'm gonna have to wait for my SL to break before I give the Vice a real tryout.
I would put the Vice right at the top of a very short list of markers under $1000. I would still buy a regular Ego 1st...but that is another $500 or so. You do need to add a couple of UP's to make this marker all it could be, while ego's don't need anything. I would give this a 10 after the upgrades but because Bob feels its neccessary to charge extra for stuff that would have cost next to nothing to put in in the 1st place I'll give a ....
Gen 2,3,4 Timmy's
Black 08 Bob Long Vice
Black POWER Kodachi Trigger
14in Deadlywind Barrel
Pure Energy 72 4500
Grey Dye Rhino Cover
Nothing is needed
4C and OLED isn't needed
Barrel Kit Maybe
On/Off not needed
Efficient even in the cold
First received the gun in the mail and wow the box was light so i knew the gun was going to be light. I opened it up and it was more beautiful then picture make it seem and yes it was extremly light.
Alright to the performance.
Yesterday when i first shot it the temperature was about -15 Celsius not including wind chill so lets say around -20 Celsius and i was using a cold fill which was about to get alot colder.
First stream of paint i had a couple barrel break but i blame the paint i was using V1 from the summer and it was warped so even with the .697 insert it gave problems. I had sum bad breaks so i switched ot stock barrel from my deadlywind and things were looking better. The gun was ripping and not kicking at all. Then my vlocity broke a ball in the stack and yea that caused problems and i had to switch to my VL Jr. Again it was ripping even when the gun felt like it was frozen over and the tank reg was so col don touch.
From a 72 3500 fill i got 3 bags of paint and i was dry firing from 500psi and it was a 4000 fill but yea it got 1500 from a 72 3500 fill and it was like -20 Celsius out and i dry fired alot outta the thing which we know is less efficient then with paint.
Doing the math of 1500 from about a 72 35 fill equals jsut about a case from a full tank in the cold. (72x3500/1500=168... 72x4500/168=1928.5).
This gun is mad efficent and also even though it doesn't have an On/Off when u unscrew the tank the gun degasses itself.
Another great feature is u can lock the reg in any position like if u like the fitting to the side of just straight.
10/10 Best gun ive shot like more comfortable then an 08 ego
eclipse, dye, and other bob long products. none compare. this is by far my favorite gun ever.
blue bob long vice, blue vlocity jr with virtue crown ultrasoft, ans 48/45 with myth reg
on/off valve, 2 peice barrel
Effiency and Reliability.
No lube, or allen keys come with this gun.
Great gun, get it, you will love it. I have had no problems with this gun at all. It shoots ropes. I get about 1 case with my 68/45 pure energy and about 3/4 case with my ans 48/45. I dont think i have even had a barrel break at all.
Go and get it its reliable and extremely efficient.
1750 paintball shot off of a 68/4500 fill
Fast and consistant
I would like the trigger with bearing
better fitting grips
For $750.00 you can't anything better on the market right now. In my opinion this marker easily stand up to the 2008 Eclipse Ego. You can get the same rate of fire better efficiency and still have $500.00 left in you pocket. The marker is light, balance and fit perfectly in the users hands. I would recommend this marker to any and every player. And to top it all off it is Made in America. Did I also say that you can almost shot a whole case off of one fill (68/4500). Thank you Bob Long.
The best marker I have purchased in serveral years.
