This is a new hoseless regulator that controls the bolt pressure on the Matrix paintball gun. It is manufactured by Aardvark Custom Paintball Products.
Product Availability
The Aardvark Trinity Regulator is older, so while it may be available used and in a few cases new, it is not commonly available anymore.

Product is easy to install and requires no drilling of gun. Simply take out the large screw in the fron of the gun and screw this regulator in. With this modification the gun doesn't chop balls. I did a little experiment. I removed the powerfeed and the barrel (in case of accidental ball feed) and attached a ProBall paintball to a piece of tape. I loaded half of the ball into the breech and jammed on the trigger. The bolt just bouces off the ball. I did this about 20 times in a row and the ball didn't break. I also tries it with some thin shell paint (smart parts brand) and the result was the same. So if you hate ball chops, this makes it a thing of the past. Also, after setting the reg, there is a nice adjustment tightening screw so your setting doesn't change unless YOU want it to.
Weaknesses:
Nothing i can think of.... Limited colors? (black or chrome)
Conclusion:
Great secondary reg for the matrix marker. Elimanates ball chopping, repuces gas consumption slightly, easy intstall and setting. Overall a great product
Reduces bolt operating pressure all but eliminating ball chopping.
Doesn't require body of marker to be tapped for air hose.
Relatively inexpensive.
Great customer support.
Very slight increase in air efficiency.
Weaknesses:
Doesn't come with instructions.
Conclusion:
The Trinity reg is a great value at $75.00 US and is worth every cent. It completely replaces the need for an anti-chop eye. From my experience the faster you have the matrix set to cycle the higher the bolt pressure. I initially had some problems at when I was set at 16.7 BPS, but spoke with Dave Caruso of Aardvark Custom Paintball and he helped me out. The main reason I feel this reg mod is superior to previous versions is in the fact that it doesn't require you to drill into your gun. If your reg fails you’re not completely out of luck, you can just replace the reg with original spool until you can resolve your issue.
Free Flow Autococker (Boxxer Milling / Eclipse blade trigger w/ swing)
Diablo Matrix (with Trinity reg, bolt kit, Oracle bolt spacer, shocktech derlin sleeve, Aardvark switch trigger, low rise = yes i use one for the Matrix I know, I know)
Smart Parts Freak (14" AA barrel tip and 12" Tear drop Aluminum and stainless backs)
Dye Boomstick
Smart Parts Max Flo 68/4500 air system
Strengths:
It is great to be able to drop the guns pressure down to about 90-110 psi (as oppsoed wo 140 psi without it) and control that bolt. I love it. However, Since it came with the marker and I got this gun used, I can't give a comparison to Matrices without it.
Weaknesses:
Mine was awesome for about 2 months of owning it... The nit leaked out the TOP OF THE KNOB!!! That mean O-ring replacement... I did 3 out of the 4 and it still leaked.. I found an O-ring to match the 4th one at the top most part and lubed it up. I got it working for like 7 minutes and then it did it again... I lubed it more and got it to work.. .It still leaks to this day but is minor now. I can still use it and have it work fine. I bought a Shocktech one to replae it until it is in full effect again. I guess it was jacked up before with the previous owner too....
Conclusion:
well, since it broke on me and I couldn't fix it, I shouldn't really give i an awesome rating but will give one according to how it was when it did work to its bset ability... I know like 3 guys who have this upgrade on theirs and it did the same to them... Just be careful,
Rating:
9 out of 10
