Everything. Other than P8NT, I have finally found a magazine that just focuses on the the higher end paintball, Pro's, Amateurs. I want to read tourny reviews, team news etc, and FACEFULL has it all. The pictures are great, it makes paintball look so professional and mainstream. I don't no why people are mad cuz their are babes in bikini's in this magazine. Are paintball players not allowed to be seen as normal people? Babes in bikini's are all over the news stand, and so what if they are in a paintball magazine. Anyways, you gotta be interested in the NPPL and Millenium series to enjoy it to its max. Anybody who follows tourny play from these series is gonna fall in love with it.
Weaknesses:
Hmmmmmm, I'm still thinking.
Conclusion:
Great bathroom material and bedtime reading. It puts you in that mind set after reading it that you wanna play some paintball. But so does P8NT magazine. Both very similar magazines, but still different in many ways.
Just go and buy it.
The layouts are fantastic
The paper is very good
The photos are the best, BAR NONE
It offers new things no other PB magazine has ever done
It is oriented to me (ie; educated adult)
Little advertising, and most of the advertising they do have is fairly well done
Great reviews, 4 of the 5 items they reviewed in issue 1 I was thinking of buying
My girlfriend loves it
It's unapologetic for its approach
Weaknesses:
It's fairly inaccessible for new players
There are no captions for most pictures (would mess up layout, but just footnotes would be nice)
Absolutely no recball material (yet)
HOLY CRAP WAS IT EXPENSIVE! $18 US shipped from KAPP. Ouch.
A few annoying advertisements that didn't fit the feel of the magazine
Conclusion:
Wicked. If you're into Facefull's style, that is. Unlike APG, it doesn't try to pass off as an "everyman's" magazine. Either you'll like its approach or you won't, and you can probably tell by now how you feel about it.
If you don't like it, don't buy it. As for "Waaa! This is hurting my sport! Pictures of partially nude women in a tasteful image are bad!"... umm, check out Cosmopolitan, YM, Maxim, GQ, In Focus, In Style, or any other fasion magazine and you'll see far worse. Besides, _nobody_ that isn't into paintball already is going to find this magazine and get upset about the sport... it's imported from FRANCE and will have a tiny distribution, you won't find it in your grocery store. So unless it makes YOU offended and you complain to non-players, there's no reason to say these images hurt the public opinion of the _game_ of paintball.
Bout to get Eclipse Bonzai green splashed (like the old led angels) cocker. Maybe put on Racegun kit to make it electro but not sure. Smart parts max flo 68 4500. Eclipse drop forward. Smart parts freak kit. Many more stuff
Strengths:
Its the most quality magazine on paintball out. Great pictures. Intelligent articles. Good coverage on wide variety of the sport not to mention its like maxim for ballers, so whats not to love.
Weaknesses:
The bad well it only comes out bi monthly for now.
Conclusion:
Great mag if it wasnt for being bi monthly id say it was the best but every one knows that PGI is followed by apg and the rest
APG PAINTBALL2XTREME mostly any paintball magazine out there but most like APG AND PAINTBALL2XTREME
Marker Setup:
i have a dye ironman angel with freak barrel and american flag anodized(pretty sweet looking) with maxflo on a shochtech cradle and a 12v rev. trigger job but with single trigger.
Strengths:
This product has great pictures and all the major tourney review like NPPL tourneys, Toulose and many tourneys like that. They also have many pictures of nice guns so if u are looking for a good gun or one thats cool looking(doesnt matter though) get this magazine!
Weaknesses:
umm nothing really except there could be a little more help articles about tactics, bunker positions, movement, stuff like that(thats what AGP has a lot of)
Conclusion:
This magazine is sweet so go and get it to see for urself
I've read all major paintball magazines. I still prefer Paintball2Xtremes and Action Pursuit Games, but this one has promise.
Marker Setup:
Nova 700 with 12Volt Revolution and Stabilizer regulator. I also use a camoflauged Stingray II with an Eagleworks barrel. I use the Nova for Tournament/Speedball and the Stingray everywhere else.
Strengths:
There are plenty of pictures, and a good info-to-advertisement ratio. The issue that I read was pretty thick, too, so people can read it over and over again and still find something new.
Weaknesses:
Well, I really don't like the porn imagery. Is it really necessary to show a girl taking a huge splat to the face on a magazine called "Facefull". She's not wearing a mask, and if the magazine didn't specifically say "Paintball" on it, readers would only assume the worst. I have a hard enough time getting non-players and parents involved in the sport, and stuff like that makes it even harder to convince people that paintball is on the level.
Conclusion:
As an informative magazine, Facefull is quality. However, if paintball ever expects to go mainstream, we need to separate ourselves from the current punk imagery that surrounds us.
Outstanding photo layouts! They Cover every event worldwide!
Weaknesses:
It costs a little more than your average PB rag.
Review:
These guys at Facefull have it all. I love their excellent photography, you feel like you are on the sidelines watching it. The articles are great (despite a few misspelled words due to translations) and the cover tons of events. They have great writers like Rich Telford from the LA Ironmen, and they do good profiles on teams all over the world. Though it may be annoying to some, I love the adds. They have adds for PB stuff I never knew existed. I highly recommend this magazine.
Conclusion:
Buy it! Read it! Love it! I have read PB2X for a long time and I love their mix of tourney and rec ball articles, but the lack a lot on the tourney side. Facefull does at least a hundred pages a month more on the same events. APG- god mag for rec ballers and beginners, but FACEFULL is where it is at!
PM6
SAM Bolt
Hybrid Guide & Tophat mod
UL frame
CP slingblade
Lucky Board W/Nox chip
Lucky Un1tec kit
Reloader B
Strengths:
Nice and stiff for the first swipe after using the can
Weaknesses:
Not flexible enough for "finishing touches"
Review:
I'm not going to get too in-depth or use a bunch of fancy words on this one, I don't feel the product deserves it. Good pictures, but the content is pure garbage. I've read Just about every issue I could get my hands on for the last two years, and the reviews are always biased, inaccurate, bullcrap. One good example is their ratings of marker's weight. They'll give a lesser-known gun a two (poor) for their weight rating, and a gun that's plastered all over the magazine in ads a five (excellent). I've found multiple instances where the marker that received the better grade is actually heavier than the other. Don't believe me? Look at the last issue (Can't remember which month, it has reviews of many 07 models...including DM7, 07 Cyborg, 07 Ego, ETC...)
And cue the flaming fanboys.....
Conclusion:
Buy it if you like picture books; If you want accurate reviews or articles though, look elsewhere.
