Strengths: Immediate gains of velocity
Weaknesses: None
Review: Purchased these along with an x7 valve to replace my gen 1 internals. Chrono read 240fps before installation, 343 fps after. Does what it's supposed to do at a reasonable price. Trigger springs also work well. Added a good feeling to the overall firing mechanism. I would recommend ordering them when you find a deal for free shipping.
Conclusion: Purchase if your having velocity issues or like to fine tune your marker via spring tensions.

Review: When I was building my custom 98 I was kinda dissapointed with the velocity of it ... range from 230 to 265 on air ... and 277 to 295 on Co2. I immediatly tried my custom on the chronograph as soon as the spring was installed and I got 314 fps (Red spring) on air !!! So Co2 would be around 340-345+. (I haven't tried the blue or green spring yet)

I'm not chopping balls and it works perfectly with e-grip. It's a MUST have for any tippmann and it's not expensive
Conclusion: Highly recommended! Does the job very well. I haven't been using it for a long time but from what I saw it works perfectly so I recommend it if you want to boost your tippy !!

Review: I got these springs yesterday. The trigger springs are the best thing about them in my opinion. The drive springs are cool, but I haven't noticed a large difference compared to the stock springs. The velocity goes up about 15-25 fps for my gun. Get these springs with a rva, and you will be able to adjust your velocity easily.
Conclusion: These springs are cool, but you will on'y use 5 of the 7 springs with the a-5, but who cares! They do help, so buy them!

Stock A5 spring?
Marker Setup: Tippmann A5 w/ 12" All-American Barrel, Double Trigger (W/ Spring Mod), DOP X chamber, Drop with On Off, JCS RVA, Maddman Spring kit, Macroline
Strengths: Easy to install, cheap
Weaknesses: some of the stuff doesn't work for A5's
Review: Well I got this thing since my A5 wasn't shooting fast enough. And just so everyone knows, MADDMAN SAYS THESE ARE FOR A5s TOO. so I get it. I leave it in my basement before I install it, and my dog eats the two sear springs and trigger springs, lol. So I put in the high tension spring, and now my gun is more consistent, and MUCH faster. It is even harder to cock so I know its working. I say they should comeout with a kit JUST for A5's, so u can save like 5 bucks. But hey, still worth it
Conclusion: I say get it if your having velocity problems, its worth it

Review: I originally ordered this upgrade mainly for the trigger spring and to have the other springs as spare parts. I installed the spring in for the trigger and it did lighten the pull on the stock trigger. When I installed a double trigger that benefit went away, I actually had to put the stock spring back in to help on the trigger rebound.

As far as the main springs, my velocity was always good so I never messed around and changed them out. And for all of you that change out the spring to get higher velocities, especially over 300fps, are completely unsafe and I hope I never have to play against.

Keep you velocity under 300fps please, even for outlaw ball, there is a reason!
Conclusion: In my case it was not a needed upgrade and a waste of money. I would recommend spending your upgrade money elsewhere.

Marker Setup: A-5, E-grip, JCS Duel Trigger, JCS front bolt, Phat XChamber, accumulator, anti-siphon on 20 oz. CO2, Flatline or 14" JJ Ceramic barrel, JCS Gold power tube.
Strengths: These are indeed for the A-5.
increase power valve dwell time.
increase fps.
Weaknesses: Require more care to insert than the stock spring.
Review: Even though the set comes with trigger and sear springs (the latter for the 98), you only need the long hammer springs in the set for the A-5 (which currently is labeled for 98, 98C, A-5). For the A-5, just ignore the other springs that come with the set. The hammer spring is longer than the stock spring, so it's a little trickier to install. Don't cut the spring. With the new spring inserted into the hammer, draw the bolt to almost cocked, insert the guide pin into the end of the spring, then force the pin to the hammer while you attach the end cap. This will prevent the spring from folding.

Maddman no longer sells them directly, but only through their vendors.

They really shouldn't be cut, and fit without cutting. If you cut the spring, you lose some of the dwell time on the valve pin.

I take them in and out all the time, switching spring colors, as I reconfigure my marker. Yes, they're more difficult to insert than the stock spring, but the extra energy has to come from somewhere.

In comparing the three colors of un-cut Maddman springs with my (1 year old) stock spring, with a JCS Gold power tube (no FVA) and my RVA backed all the way out, full CO2, no regulator, flatline, polished A-5 internals:

[average values, 30 single shots per spring]
stock **** 286 fps
green **** 305 fps
blue ***** 325 fps
red ****** 340 fps

Of course, these numbers are meaningless in absolute terms, but they do give an idea of the relative strengths of the springs, and the effect they might have on your current fps. I'd like to get one of Tippmann's new, stronger springs for comparison.
Conclusion: If your A-5 needs to raise its fps, this is the set of springs to buy. Just be patient the first time you install one, since it's a little trickier than with the stock spring.

Marker Setup: 98c with dye barrel, xchamber, toxic performance double trigger, psycho ballistics drop, rufus center feed, sandblasted with light grey paint, eggy2
Strengths: Better consistency, red spring you get more distance, blue spring you get lighter trigger pull
Weaknesses: None
Review: This is a very good upgrade for your 98c. It increases the consistency of your gun and gives you a nicer and smoother cycling rate. With the Blue spring (lightest spring) you can achieve a light trigger pull and with the Red spring (strongest spring) you can achieve a tad bit more distance in your shot.

WORD OF ADVICE: DO NOT CUT THE SPRINGS!! They were made to be that long for a reason and in time will compact
Conclusion: Cheap and must-have upgrade for your 98c!

adjustable stock

expansion chamber
custom wood grips
innovatice trigger guard
Strengths: Durability, function,installation
Weaknesses: Price, colours fade., installation... tricky with a stock...
Review: My marker usually is around 280-290 stock, i installed the kit and it is now 350+. I have to keep the velocity screw turned almost all the way to play at the club. My highest chrono was 378FPS.......... I took out the red spring and put the medium spring in and in April i am going to check it again, its nice to have power but i dont want to hurt someone..... And by the way, it puts holes in pop cans just on the one side... and you no those rubbermaid containers, it goes through those......... I also noticed that it tends to spike more often even with a remot, so i got a expansion chamber this year we will see what happens. They do quite the marker alittle but not much, just when you do 3 shot bursts... Anyway i got mine for $12CDN and since its only springs it should of been less, but that is the cheapest upgrade i have ever done.... hey it works what can i say.
Conclusion: If your marker is only shooting 240 because of the flatline you installed try this kit, it may bring it back up.

Strengths: Does what it says it will do
Weaknesses: Springs will kink when bent
Review: I bought these to offset the velocity lose when i got my bolt and man let me tell you something these things are no joke they do what htey say they will and then some(i am not trying to make this the holy grail of paintball or anything).I personally think for 16 bux (thats with S&H) it was well worth it i put these in with my starfire bolt and i actually gained velocity.NOW FOR THE DOWN SIDE the stiff (red )spring if you bend it a little it will kink(but still very functional) the light trigger spring has a little slop to it (but hey i could almost tap it and it will shoot)and thats it on the bad.overall its a great product
Conclusion: Even for $16 i think this product is well worth it .I am not an easy person to impress and I am very impressed with this spring set.i have to give it a 9.5(hey nothing is perfect)

Marker Setup: tippmann 98 custom, 12 inch PROgressive barrel, rocket cock, pro team hyperstar bolt, GTA expansion chamber, double trigger, 32 degreese universal drop forward, madman spring kit
Strengths: Lighter trigger springs
More velocity with heavy springs
Weaknesses: You still can't walk a tippmann
Heavy spring gives the gun kick back
Review: i bought this kit to reduce trigger pull and it definatly did that but it still isnt enough to walk my gun. i put the heavy striker spring in first and it had excellent velocity but made the gun kick back. The medium spring seems to work best. the light spring just lowers velocity
Conclusion: I recomend you buy this product if your striker springs are bad or you have velocity problenms
