With this replacement kit, you can keep your springs nice and healthy. This kit also contains springs of varying tensions for a variety of velocities. 7 springs total: 2 trigger spring to lighten trigger pull, 2 sear spring, 3 striker springs of varying tensions.
The Maddman Products Spring Kit is newer, so it should be commonly available, both new and used.
98 and SL68 II ... if you're really that interested to see what's on them, then too bad
It did exactly what I wanted it to do. I was having velocity problems, only shooting 260, but when I but the tighter drive spring in, I was shooting 290. Perfect, just what I wanted. If you're having velocity problems, get this. It will increase your velocity by 30 fps (though may vary) and it can also decrease your velocity - it comes with a lighter drive spring as well. I'm not sure how much it will decrease your velocity, though. As for increased accuracy, I don't see how. It's just a tighter drive spring. It is not more gas efficient as well. If anything, it is less efficient because isn't it striking the valve pin harder, therefore releasing more gas per shot? Well, don't buy it for those purposes. Just get it if you're having velocity problems. Oh yeah, it comes with a lighter trigger spring too (yipee).
If anything, the lighter trigger pull just makes it more of a sloppy trigger. With the light trigger spring in, you can really feel the sear engaging. You pull the trigger back, all smooth-like, then you feel it engange the sear (pop!) and then you have to release the trigger all the way back out again to reengage. With the stock trigger spring, you don't feel it as much, and it is a nice, smooth motion (well, for the most part). Anyway, my point is the lighter trigger spring is kind of... pointless. A 3 lb. trigger pull (stock trigger pull if I remember right) is perfect for a low end semi that's never going to get a great ROF in the first place.
It did what I wanted. It increased the velocity by 30 fps. A couple bucks so I can compete with the range of the other guns is well worth it.
Model 98, PB Aluminum Rocket Cock, PB RVA, PB Universal Drop Forward, PB Billet Powertube/front Bolt, PB Double trigger, Expansion chamber, maddman spring kit, 12" All American barrel, with polished internals and a raised sight rail
They increase velocity and distance, they make pulling your trigger 10 times in 2 seconds a breeze, they reduce trigger pull majorly you dont even realize you are pulling it sometimes, they even color coded them so they are easy to install
there is nothing bad about this product i can think of
This is a great product you get all the springs that are in your gun they are more reliable than the stock springs, if i was you dont think twice about getting these i am glad i got them, they make your gun shot sweet, i love how my trigger pull is so light. get this product, they are only $10, if you want your gun to shoot fast buy these
Tippmann 98 custom with dbl trigger, remote, trufflite barrel, maddman springkit, several home made silencer ideas from www.m98center.com
-which increases distances
-trigger spring allows quicker fire rate
-allows u to hit the school from your backyard very easily(mean teachers)
-they are color coded for easy choice of speed
My friend that has it for his Piranha cannot use the high power hammer spring(red/stiff) because it breaks balls. How erver on the tipppmann's it works very well. Not much maybe the fact that the color isnt very bright but i could care less but i need to have a 100 words.
this kit is well worth the money however if u can find the springs it would probably cost 1.50 or so but the 15$ saves alot of time locating all of the specific springs.
The red spring only added 10 or 15 fps for me at most, so I'm still way under. This product is overpriced, especially since I cannot use the trigger spring, nor can I use the seer spring with my RT kit.
When it comes right down to it, however, this is the ONLY spring kit available, so it is the best by default. I suppose it would be very handy in that it is a very quick and unique fix to any troubles with your drive spring.
If you really need a different velocity, it's your only choice, but still not great.

I own a regular black Tippmann Model 98, 12 inch J&J 2 Piece, Vertical Adaptor, 32 Degrees/Boblong Expansion chamber, 20 oz co2 tank, 4+1 Harness, Remote, Psycho Ballistics Aluminum Front Bolt and Powertube, Polished Internals, Psycho Ballistics Double Trigger, Valley Firearms Lighten Trigger job (reduces grinding), Trigger stop (makes it shorter), Maddmann Springs (makes the trigger pul lighter), 2 more custom trigger mods, 12v revolution, and i think thats it....
-Lighter Sear and Trigger Spring (shoot faster)
-3 springs: low, med, high (just screw the regular velocity adjustment screw in on the side of the gun. opeh your gun and replace the stock spring in back with one of the springs.
-Improves accuracy a little
-More shots per tank
Nothing really... Does fit the 98 custom, but i have the regular and i heard they are coming out with maddmann springs for the 98c anyways. they might be out now.
I like it, it is better than messing around with your trigger springs and sear springs and messing them up, to damge, not work properly, or even slow down your rate of fire. this is an upgrade that doesnt cost a lot but is worth it.
