Upgrades:
Barrel. The GX4 comes with a matching 5in barrel. I like it completes the markers looks. But doesnt have the length or range. Other than that its all personal choice.
Strengths: You get an awsome Autococker. From a reliable company. Everything you need to start with. Comes with all the bells and whisles. Just add Air and a barrel of your choice. Its at a fair price from actionvillage $800 dollars is a steal for the GX4. Shoots accurate. Has long range with 12+ inch barrels. Works fine on speedball and woods. Did I forget to mention that it comes with a hinge frame? OH its so fast. The hinge on my ANS GX4 looks like a Eclipse Blade. Maybe it is? Very good on N2. Get lots of shots off a full 68ci 4500psi. Not much of a gas hog. Consistant over the crono. 280 280 280. Shoots steady streams onto your target.
Weaknesses: The Stock Barrel. Geeze I can throw paintballs farther than the 5inch stock barrel. For 800 bucks they could have added 7 more inches to the length of the barrel. I had to time mine right out of the box. DO NOT USE CO2 or I will kick your Butt.
Conclusion: I play back posstion. Its about the best deal for someone like myself looking for everything in one box minus a few personal things. I get alot of attention from people because its pewter polished "Polished Grey" same thing. IMO I have about the best looking marker out there besides the missouri black magic cocker. And the performance is Fricking great. Considering this is the second cocker I have owned after playing six years with tippmann markers. Honestly if you are tired of looking around for other guns that come with less options consider the GX3 this is about the best Cocker deal out that I have seen so far. Fast shooting, Accurate with great range after you change the barrel. Its lighter than my 96 cocker so go figure. I was crushing angel lossers all day with the GX4. Maybe thats from experience? Who knows? Its a KICK F**king A** marker well worth the price. All the goodies in one box! Get one TODAY or tomarrow or whenever you have the dough for one!

Upgrades:
the only recommened upgrade on this marker is the barrel. The stock sucks big time.
Strengths: this cocker is amazing.
the front ans block works like a dream. you will not ever break or chop a ball with this .
the trigger is real nice to shoot with a the pull is pretty light.
the reg takes a little getting used to. i found it a liltle uncomfortable at first but now im perfectly fine with it.
the drop is another upside considering it comes with the gun and it not bad at all. As i said this cocker is amazing.
Weaknesses: This cocker one and only one thing wrong about it but i can be fixed very easily.
the stock barrel. its only 5 stinkin inches. i mean u would think an 800 dollar gun....decent barrel....wrongoo.
defintly recomend a new barrel.
Conclusion: the gun is Godly. a must have.
just get a new barrel....trust me u want it.
otherwise absolutly everything on this gun is awosme!

My whole team has an assorment of different cockers
Marker Setup: Blue GX4
blue revvy x-board 6-blade impeller
4500 88ci Pure Energy HPA tank
Freak set with stainless back and blue front
Recommended
Upgrades:
I'm gonna get a blue pump arm, and maybe electro. But you dont need to upgrade this gun at all. It already comes with everything from ANS.
Strengths: It's beatiful, you can get it in like 14 different colors, polish and powder. ANS knows what there doing when it comes to selection.

The dropforward and cradle are adjustable, you can slide it forward and backward to your liking. The way they set up the vertical regulator is very comfordable.

The cocking rod isn't locktited in, like the GX3 and some other custom cockers. There isn't a pull pin for the bolt sticking out of the side.

The feed neck fits revvys perfectly, revvys can feed it well enough. It's a cocker, you dont chop anyway.

The trigger pull is amaing, extremely smooth and short. All the other eclipse hing frame i've shot have had a hard pull, but i guess it all depend on your 3way. You gun actualy comes to you timed! thats a first for me.

Extremely acurate, but you'll get that with just about any cocker. Closed bolt is such an amzing mechanism. Especialy the electros. I'm thinking about buying the electro kit from elclipse for it.
Weaknesses: Stock barrel is my main problem with it. I dont care how good it perform, which cant be good since it's only 5 frickin inches, but it's ugly as crap! Your spending $800, they could at least give you a normal looking 12" barrel. Thats the main reason why i bought my freak set right away.

This one is good and bad, the regulator kinda locks it self down. When you get around the operating pressure it's too hard to turn with your fingers, i had to tank the drop forward off and use a creasant wrench. But once you set it you forget it. And thats the best way to have something on a paintball gun.

My game always end early for some reason, i just cant understand why! :)
Conclusion: This gun is extremely sweet. Good looking, good performing, consistant good performing, and shoots pretty fast for a cocker. The only thing i think is wak is the stock barrel, thats why i'm giving it a 9 instead of a 10. Which it could of easily had if ANS would have gave you a normal barrel. I've never even seen a 5" barrel until now, it's a desgrace.

Angel - MUCH more accurate, but not as fast as an Angel (but we are comparing electro to mechanical)
E-mag - Again, the GX4 was more accurate, but the E-mag has an insane rate of fire (and is quiet a bit more expensive to operate).
Dye Ultralite - The GX4 weighs more, but also seemed to have a significantly higher recharge rate (translating into an effective rate of fire without pressure dropoff). The GX4 also doesn't have the weak point where the reg screws into the body (it's pretty think on a ultralite, a good head first slide could trash the Dye).
WGP Oracle - Same comment as with the Dye, much lighter, but the GX4 feels rock solid and performance of the GX4 seems much crisper (especially with the new hinge trigger).
Marker Setup: ANS GX-4 (prototype - didn't have barrel)
Smart Parts Freak Barrel
Ricochet 2k Hopper
Nitro Duck 68/3000 tank
Recommended
Upgrades:
If you are a front or mid player, the stock barrel should be fine. Back players will probably want to go with a longer barrel. I prefer a Freak set. A Boomstick would be fine, but it's a fixed bore size!
Strengths: The upgraded front end and hinge trigger are the heart of the upgrades to the GX4. I actually had a ref ask me if I was shooting with an electro grip! The hinge trigger is the best I have used.

The combination of well-known autococker accuracy with the rate of fire the new front end & trigger offer is a lethal combination. From a back to mid position, I am able to get the same number of kills as an Angel or E-Mag with a fraction of the ammo!

The aesthetics of the gun is amazing. The finish is beautiful. I actually had a guy offer to trade me straight across for an LCD Angel!

The operating pressure is incredibly low. ANS claims 250-300, I was fortunate to have a really talented airsmith work on mine. The gauge on the reg shows 180! This low pressure configuration together with the redesigned front end translates into the first Autococker I have used that merely sips air (most cockers are gas hogs). I can shoot nearly 1000 rounds on my old 47/3000 tank. My new 68/3000 runs all day.

The new beaver tail doesn't have the ringing problem the old GX3's did.

The GX4's come with the redesigned ANS bolts. The new ones were specifically redesigned to address the issue of bolts coming loose and shooting out the back.

The quality is top notch. So is ANS' customer service.
Weaknesses: Production models don't come with a shroud (but how many cocker owners play with a shroud)? ANS will sell you one for $29. They will even match the color if you send them a part.

It's a bit heavy (as compared to a Dye Ultralite).
Conclusion: If you're going to spend under $600 for a marker, I like the GX3. But if you are even remotely thinking of buying a GX3 and upgrading, or you are looking at an Outkast, Ultralite, Oracle, etc., do yourself a favor and go with the GX4. It sets a new standard for high end Autocockers without breaking the bank.

The enhanced consistency and higher rate of fire found in the GX4 compared to the GX3 means more kills with (suprisingly) less ammo.

WGP Stock Autococker, Gen-X3, Gen-X4, STO Autococker, Automag
Marker Setup: Automag with 12 inch Smart parts stainless steel barrel, benchy4grip, warped sportz drop
Recommended
Upgrades:
The barrel is a little bit small, 8 inch is not very practical. I would say upgrade to a 10-12 inch CP or Smart Parts barrel. The drop is nice if you like to play super tight, other then that, its drops to far
Strengths: Extremly fast. The trigger pull is very nice and crisp. The swing style frame really makes a difference, its very hard to chop with this frame. The gun is very accurate and consistent. Around -/+3 FPS, with the occassional jump. The gun is extremly accurate. The stock barrel isnt to bad on it, but its a little to short for my taste.
Weaknesses: For another 250 dollers more then the GENx3, your getting a slightly better, but not very noticable, pneumatics, 8 inch barrel (which most people will probably upgrade), and a drop (which again, most people will probably ditch). So for the money, i would say its cheaper to buy a Genx3 and slap on a barrel and drop of your choice.
Conclusion: Very very good gun. A little pricey. The gun is very stylish and shoots awsome. Very accurate, crsip trigger, lot of features.
