This single shot plunger action pump is fed by tubes
which are inserted into the front (top
barrel) of the gun. It is powered by a 12 gram CO2 cartridge.
Product Availability
The Splatmaster is older, so while it may be available used and in a few cases new, it is not commonly available anymore.

Light
Simpleness
Trigger pull
Vintageness
Cheap (mine for $30)
Weaknesses:
efficiency (debatable, 1 canister per 2-3 tubes)
CO2 leaks unless USED PROPERLY
Review:
Mediam stuff:
range
accuracey (to about 20 yards)
action (not too hard in my opinion)
I originally bought this marker as a conversation starter, side arm, and a challenge for when my ego got too high. I wasn't impressed, except in velocity. Some of the more pessimistic reviews stated that the marker would loss all of it's power in a couple shots. Mabey the one I aquired has a stronger spring or was worked on before, because there are no such problems. However, screwing the CO2 in effectively is an accomplishment in itself. As other reviews are going to say and have said, the CO2 cannot be tightened too far or too short too short. One review before that said to screw in the cartredge 1/2 turn after the seal breaks, which worked well for me.
Conclusion:
Overall, it is one of the oldest markers and cannot have much expected from it. It looks cool, shoots strieght, and works which is about all one can expect from a Splatmaster. Despite it's faults, I'll give this marker a 9.
Haven't really had anything like it, although gz carbon series 1000 is similar
Marker Setup:
2002 autococker, custom stock, 14" Dye Boomstick 2 piece barrel, Bruizer wiseguy II, expansion chamber, 16" Smart parts all american barrel
Recommended Upgrades:
10 round tubes, spring loaded if possible, speed knob
Strengths:
accurate! Small, Great on Co2!
Weaknesses:
Plastic, sometimes breaks balls, bad threads to screw in co2
Review:
I bought mine at an auction with accessories for $2 with accessories then at a flea market bought 2 more for $20 with holsters! They worked great and last long. If you need a cheap pistol you can rely on and grab when your primary marker runs out this one's for you!
Buy more cigar tubes (magazines) They will break.
Get a holster (its pretty big)
Get something to hold cylinders
Strengths:
Inexpensive <50 bucks
Durabiliy
Barrel doesn't need cleaning
Vintage
More
Weaknesses:
Slightly bulky
picky with co2
hard to find
Review:
I LOVE this thing. It is durable, accurate, intimidating, light, efficiant and more. I never need to clean it. It also shows when the ball is in the chamber. That makes it much more safe. Also, it has a finger rest which is great for long games. It loads easily and can even be used with a piece of tape in place of a magazine.
Phantom-I prefer the Phantom over the Splatmaster.
Talon-I prefer almost anything over the Talon.
Marker Setup:
SC Phantom
Trigger shoe
Detent rings
Recommended Upgrades:
I'm not sure if anyone makes any, but it seemed fine when I tested it, and it must've been fine for the guy who has had it since the 80's since it was stock.
Strengths:
Accurate
Light
Durable
Weaknesses:
The cocking system is kinda funky.
Slower than other pumps.
Review:
I got to use this pistol when I was talking with one of the older players about old style paintball, and the Splatmaster came up. He said he'd bring it the next time I was there, and this weekend, he had it with him. It's kinda funky, but very cool. The way you cock it is by pushing in a "button" on the back of the gun with your thumb, although I had to use my palm, while tilting the barrel towards the sky at the same time. It's very accurate too, not ball on ball, but a spread of only a few inces. It's also light and compact, what's not to love about that? It also may be plastic, but it's very tough. I mean you'd have to try pretty darn hard to break this gun. The "button" cocking system is hard to push though, so really press down when you go to use this.
Conclusion:
It's sad they don't make these anymore. They're great, I'd buy one if I could find one for really cheap and easily enough. Maybe someone's selling one on eBay.

Original splatmaster holster with co2 pouch
speed wheel
modded 10 rod tubes {hold tighter}
bright yellow sight rail for easier aiming in dim lit areas
Recommended Upgrades:
Nothing it will probably break before you get to realy use it anyway.
Strengths:
For being made when it was. Working is a strength.
Weaknesses:
Trigger sear is plastic when it breaks the gun is broken no fixing it

Gun shoots about 125 ft. pretty good accuracy for having a 6inch platic barrel. Cleanning is a breeze just point barrel down and flow a stream of water down it. Swab it out and your good to go. I use a stream or river to clean mine if we are playing woodsball. gets about 20 two 50 shots a co2 depending on temp type of 12 grams and veloscity.
Conclusion:
wow looks cool shoots nice and made before i was born. I cant help but give it a 10
Black-Orange Ripper 2 with VP bolt, pistons, and hoseguard, a function ASA, katana style techna, m3 infamous board, lucky 15 and hybird grips.

I dont think there are any, and i wouldnt want any for this marker, its good as it is.

Well one of my friends let me borrow his NSG Splatmaster for a few games.
Key Strengths:
Weight/Profile/Design- The Spalmaster is a well made marker for its time, and even for today. The design is what I'd call reverse pump action in a way. Rather than pumping the gun back forth, you simply press a black that loads a paintball into the breach, etc. Not as easy as it sounds, the button is fairly hard to push. The barrel is built in to the gun, which is made of plastic. Making for a much smaller barrel, and therefore shaving off the weight a normal aluuminum barrel would have. The gun, as said, is plastic, but this makes for a very lightweight marker. It has the ruggedness of a Tippmann, and the weight of well......anything that weighs a bit more than a pound.
Reloading/Shots off Twelve Gram- Reloading is a snap. Just carry a few plastic tubes with you, a twelve gram or two, any your all set. Reloading is very simple; for paint just pull out the empty tube, and pop in another. For your twelve gram(s), just unscrew the bottom cap, put in another, snap the cap back on and your good to go.
Trigger Pull- Very Light, nice and easy action. Not so short you get misfires, but not so long that by the time you pull the trigger you've been gogged.
Key Weaknesses:
Kick- One of the only that really bothered me about the Splatmaster, is the kick after every shot, which greatly throughs off your accuracy. Other than I never really minded the kick.
Accuracy- Pretty much from kick. ^
Conclusion:
The NSG Splatmaster is a well made marker. I highly recomend this marker to those who want a change from traditional play with trixes, timmys, egos and the like to pick one of these up, and enjoy the single shot action thrill of old school paintball.
-Holster (drop leg, too big for a sholder.)
-Spray it to match your kit!
Strengths:
-Durability
-Accuracy
-Power
-Cheap
Weaknesses:
-Manual refresh on every shot
-Tube loading

Where do i start?
History
.....I was offered one of these while i was at college, i said yes because i was into paintball and it was only a tenner. It was really cool. I took it home, shot it a bit and looked at pbreview to see what i could do with it. Most people said it was hard to take apart, but i gave it a go. It is so simple inside i thought it was missing some parts! I washed all the parts and put it back together with no problems.
I brought a Viper drop leg holster and cut it to fit the marker. I went off to my feild and everyone thought it was sweet and wanted one. I went back to the bloke a brought it off and brought all that he had, that was 19 splatmasters. Since then i have sold and modded so many of them.
Opinion
This gun is sweet, you can take it apart and put it back together with ease. It is powerfull when the gas is new, and most of them were very accurate considering they all had heavily scratched short plastic barrels. You can up the power on it by swapping the spring or putting washers in it. Only one of them broke, and that was because the fool kept juggling with it and dropping it! These guns are as old as me and have been used and abused for years but kept on going. The plastic easily accepts spray paint for that custom look.
The only problems i have is i have no tubes so i put paint in the top and tape the end shut, this is fine as i only use it as a back up.
Conclusion:
Buy the gun, its cheap and cheerful and keeps on going. You can mod it to bits and it works well, my total kills with it so far is 7, which is good because i have only used it in a game 3 or 4 times.
Amazing for a stock weapon.
2004 bko with j&j, egg II, cp drop, cp on/off, dye stickies, bulldog hpa, superfly.
98 rainmaker with dye stickies and a j&j and 12vlt revolution.
Recommended Upgrades:
hopper if you have an extra, side-cocking, c/a, and a shoulder stiock that also cocks. I did all of this to a spare one.
Strengths:
Accuracy, cool factor, 40 shots off a 12 gram, best pump ive ever used basically.
Weaknesses:
Definetly none.
Review:
I use this gun for rec ball and woodsball. Its like $20 and the best pump ever. Its light, accurate, durable, small, 40 shots off a 12 gram, and everything you can think of is good. No problems ever. There still sweet for being like22 years old. Best pump ever. Plus, there \upgradable. I put a c/a, a hopper, and a shoulder stock that also cocked it. Waaaaaaaaay better than a pgp.
Conclusion:
Best gun ever. By far worth it. Id use this over a pahntom just cuz its cooler and more stealthy. The pahntom is just as accurate and stuff, just bigger.
Shots per 12gram
Durability of internals
Rear cocking can feel odd
Review:
Picked it up offa ebay for some oldschool play and have since been satisfied with it. First off, almost everything on this gun is plastic. The only non plastic thing being the valve. So durability and life span is quiestionable. The gun is nicely balanced in your hand and has a nice feel to it. Accuracy is less than desired, but still decent. I got about 15 good shots off of a 12gram before i would have to really lob them. Whereas you get about 30 off of a pgp.
Conclusion:
Overall a decent gun. Wouldnt recommend to anyone who wasnt into vintage guns.
Another Splatmaster for replacing the original, when it breaks.
Strengths:
Small
Precise at close range
Strong "put-down" generator when opponent is hit
Durable
Weaknesses:
Leaky CO2 reciever
This product is durable but it will break when used regularly
Review:
THE GOOD
The tight, compact frame of the splatmaster is very comfortable and capable.
It is easy to load and reload this gun with both ammo and CO2 charges. While not
designed with quick re-arming in mind, with practice it is possible.
It is VERY effective at close range (20 to 40 feet).
THE BAD
The leaky CO2 assembly is the main problem with this gun ( or marker, whatever your choice ).
While impossible to eliminatethis problem, the occational cleaning is a good start.
Be sure to screw the butt-cap in to the proper depth. You pretty much have one chance at this so make it count. If you screw your CO2 cartridge in too far, it leaks. If you screw it in too little, it leaks. However, if you've made each of the above mistakes, your problems are almost over!
Examine the ends of the two, failed, CO2 cartridges. One should have a big hole and the other a small one. Remember how deep you drove them and aim for the middle. Once you get the hang of this, until you have a different CO2 reciver, you'll get it perfect almost everytime.
When your Splatmaster breaks, go buy a new one if it is fiscally sound nowadays. I would do this and play-on for only 25$ when I used these things. When the replacement broke, I would combine the parts and make a single working splatmaster, with parts to spare. Repeat the above as neccessary to continue play!
MANEUVERS
When you're trying to eliminate your opponents, be stealthy and fast. Otherwise, with a Splatmaster, you don't stand much of a chance.
Final tip, if you run out of CO2 while playing and a ball just trickles out, pick it up and throw it at your intended target HARD. He'll have heard your Splatmaster's last gasp and be willing to take a chance looking around the bend.
Good luck!
Conclusion:
The only good reason to buy this product now is to tag someone with a round and then rub it in their face as to how they were eliminated by a relic!
Save a Splatmaster, for history
Rated 7/10, because it served me so well for so long.
