This marker was produced in two major versions; the original P68 and the P68 Auto Trigger. There were both Stock Class and Direct Feed versions of each.
The auto trigger version has an auto trigger, a direct feed neck, and allows for constant air.
The stock class version uses 12 gram CO2, its magazine holds 15 rounds.
They are both closed bolt.
Product Availability
The Sheridan P68 is older, so while it may be available used and in a few cases new, it is not commonly available anymore.

a faster 12g changer, a fast loading system, a velocity adjuster
Strengths:
To me it feels better than a SC Phantom becuause of the weight and the fact that you have to rock it back (not forward).
it's a great project marker. you can do work on it yourself, or send it to a custom work shop and have and airsmith do work on it. There are a lot of upgrades that an airsmith can do to it (just take a look at Palmers site).
it looks great, and is easy to run around with.
the firing sound is nice (not loud and not quiet).
takes some parts from PGPs.
all around a really fun marker to play with.
Weaknesses:
the stock 12g changer and paintball tube cap need to be replaced ASAP.
the 12g changer takes eight turns to unscrew (and eight more to screw back on). eight! waayy to much time being wasted there. upgrading to a Mad changer or a Palmer Quicksilver seems like a must.
the paintball tube cap is just a small cap that locks the tube closed. i lost mine during the second game with this marker (thus making it imposible to use without loosing all the balls). a fast loader like the one made by Mad Custom is a great upgrade.
it doesn't come with a velocity adjuster, but this is one of the easiest upgrades to find (it's the same as on the PGP).
The pump stroke is a bit rough (especialy if you haven't used the marker in some time). right now i'm looking into if a Copper-T bolt will help reduce this problem.
The original bolt is hard to take out.
The safety spring/ball are easy to loose when you take the grip frame off.
The front grip screw is a pain to screw back into the nut behind the valve.
noone sells them anymore. ebay is the best place to look for one.
Conclusion:
while i did write more bad than good, i think this is a great marker for playing and upgrading.
its gotten a performance tune from palmers and a fasst change
Recommended Upgrades:
a fasst change. The performance tune from palmers was overdoing it (although it shoots sweetly now)
Strengths:
for a stock gun its heavy, I like that in a gun. it's both consistant and accurate. The pump stroke on it is short and smooth (when oiled) and it durable. It's made of brass
Weaknesses:
mine had paint in the barrle I had to remove. It doesnt have all that many upgrades if any. theres no rear site rail which, IMHO, sucks. The sound it makes when it fires isnt very satisfying. It doesnt get all that many shots out of a 12 gram (at least with diablo blaze paint).
Conclusion:
A good SC gun, I do wish I had sprung for a phantom though because... well now it seems like a gun I would have liked more. Don't get me wrong this is a great SC marker. I love using it during night games :)
extremely accurate
fun to shoot
looks cool
doesnt chop balls
easy to pump
Weaknesses:
if you dont cock it far enough it kind of screws up so you have to shake it and cock it again, but that isnt a big deal, its not like you have to fix anything.
i guess the velocity could be better but i don't know that much about that part
Conclusion:
this is probably the best pump gun in existence. And it's cheap! some guy at paintball jungle just let me fire his and it seemed pretty cool! He told me that he usually gets 5 kills with 10 shots.
the most accurate pistol i have ever used
never chops paint. but whatever you do, dont by brass eagle paintballs.
really convenient
very powerful
shoots further than any other pistol that ive used (ive used 6)
extremely durable;never breaks.
great barrel size
Weaknesses:
very heavy for a pistol
as with most pistols, there are absolutely no upgrades
Conclusion:
it doesnt matter that there are no upgrades cause its barrel is so awsome.
for 100$, your'e getting more than what you're buying. this is the best pistol that ive every owned. if your a fan of stock class, BUY IT! you can also use it as a great backup
Great side arm. It fits in a holster like a pistol. Shoots well, and looks like a real gun.
Weaknesses:
It doesn't perform well in cold weather. I have a hard time believing that it's maximum volocity is 230 feet per second. And I'm not fond of the gravity feed. It makes the gun look cool, but in a fire fight, it's too slow to cock, so you're had.
Conclusion:
Cool Gun over all. It's not too shabby for the price, and to be honest, no real reason to have a semi automatic side arm, when if you pull your side arm you're on your last leg anyway.
