The cricket board is the new 2K2 circuit board for the impulse. This board features a push button for on/off, and the dwell setting is fully digital, meaning you use buttons for setting the dwell one step up or down in stead of the old potentiometer dwell. The button dwell is tourney legal. The board has a blue, blinking LED instead of the old green/amber LED, and the board makes the chirping sound of a cricket for signaling on/off, dwell setting etc.

You can choose between a normal cricket board, or a cricket vision board. The cricket vision does not have to be adjusted, unlike the old vision which had to be adjusted to each color of paint. This board will adjust it for you.
Product Availability
The Smart Parts Cricket Board is older, so while it may be available used and in a few cases new, it is not commonly available anymore.

Marker Setup: Impulse vision(stock as of now i just got it today)
Strengths: Cool blue light
20bps with eyes, 13bps without eyes
Weaknesses: Nothing
Review: This board is a great board for a stock board on the impulse. Not faster then the WAS board but thats beacause its an aftermarket board. This board now comes with a new cool blue light when its turned on. This board is way better then the previous boards the smartparts put into their ould impulses. Not really much to this board except that this board is great. If you have an old impy get this board.
Conclusion: Get it if you dont already have it.

Review: This is a great upgrade for your impulse if you dont have one. Save the extra 100 bucks and get it with the gun its a lot easier and you end up saving about 50 $ that way. This is a very good board. Its fast has eyes and it works. this product is also very reliable you dont have to replace all the eye or anything. I dont see what the big deal is about the was board. Do peole really think there going to shoot that fast. Just becuase a board say it will do 35 bps dosent mean you can pull a trigger 35 times in one second. and besides a h.a.l.o will only feed 18 bps. The only loader that is capable of feeding that fast is the q loader and that loader is very expesive and looks lke sh*t. Also with that loader you have two buyspecial pods for it. So dont waste you monney on a was board. if anyone told you that that theyve shot ar seen somebody shoot 35 bps there lying. The fastest youll shoot is 18 bps and that is about what the h.a.l.o feeds. Over allthis is the best board for your impulse and i recomend it two anyone with a pulse that dosent already have this. You definatly need a h.a.l.o b nothing else.
Conclusion: Get it. Its a must for any impulse if you dont already have one. dont get any of those other boards for impulses. I hear most of them get fried. And use a halo b nothing else

stock sp board
Marker Setup: impulse vision with cricket board, evil respirator, brass hammer, demonic strangler, blade trigger, revy with x-board
Strengths: this board is fast and is the perfect idea for an impulse with a vision
Weaknesses: u need a vision to put the board in the gun.
Review: the cricket board is a very smart upgrade for the impulse, especially if u have an older impulse vision without a cricket board. this board is fast as hell and PERFECT at detecting paint. the board is set to shoot 20 bps with or even without a vision, even though some people say otherwise. the kid before said the board is for slower shooting players. this kid has no idea what he is talking about and this is one of the smartest upgrades to get on any gun, a vision eye, with a vision. this is true because the board is faster than the stock board but u need a vision to put it in your gun unless u buy a new impulse that comes stock with a cricket board. the only downside then is that u have to buy a new cricket board with a vision if u want to get a vision. the vision is the perfect idea that is just made even sweeter with a cricket board. good buy.
Conclusion: great upgrade with a vision. must have a vision to use this board. this is the only downside.

SP analog green/amber LED general board.
Marker Setup: Impulse w/Cricket board, Blade-trigger, Max-Flo 300 bar air system, 200 bar kevlar tank, red Lok Sok, Gas thru gadget grip, red Psychoballistic drop-forward, black Freak-back,
red 12" Teardrop Freak-front, and 12V VL Revolution w/x-board
Strengths: Digital dwell/on button, blue LED, beeps when turned on/off or adjusting dwell
Weaknesses: The cricket board has no firemodes, but you really don't need it.
Review: The cricket board is fully digital, meaning that there are no potentiometers and the dwell is set by pushing buttons. A small speaker on the board will squeak like a small bird when adjusting dwell or switching on/off. The LED on the back of the board is blue, and will display a double blink every second when the marker is on. If battery is low, the board will beep every 5 seconds. In order to save battery, the board will deactivate if not fired for 20 minutes. The digital dwell is great, because you can experiment with different settings, and be certain that you can set it back to its original setting. This was impossible with the pot-meter dwell. You can adjust the dwell from 4-14 ms (milliseconds) in .25 ms increments. This will give you 40 beeps of dwell setting. The constant blinking LED will remind you that the marker is on and dangerous. With the old board there was no way of telling if the marker was on. This is a great safety feature.
Conclusion: I really recommend this board to everyone who still have pre-cricket boards. Besides the really cool features, the cricket board probably is of a higher quality, both on materials and its software. It is supposed to handle moisture better than the old boards as well.

Marker Setup: Stock 2k3 Impulse - 10 Inch Freak, AA front - eVLution II - Crossfire 47/4500 Low Output Nitro... More to come.
Strengths: Great Board.

Low Maintinence.

Does what it is supposed to.

The blue LED light in the back looks cool :)

Easy to use.

Cheap.

Make really cool chirping noise when you press the button below the end cap.
Weaknesses: Nothing really. Does'nt have firing modes, but in the tournaments I'm in they don't alow those anyway.
Review: Came stock with my 2k3 Impulse. Probably not on the older models. I would suggest getting one just to keep up with the times. The board is stored in the selenoid housing above the 45 grip. Thats really all I can say, its you standard run of the line board. Worth the money I'd say.
Conclusion: Nice board, does its job nice. Great for your older year impulse users. Sounds cool:)

I give it a 9 because I can't find anything wrong with it.
