The Progressive barrels are available in lengths (12/14/16/20") and are available for most paintguns. They come in black, blue, red , silver & green.
Product Availability
The Smart Parts Progressive Barrels are newer, so they should be commonly available, both new and used. Check out the Places to Buy links below for places to purchase them new.
I was using a STOCK SP 2002 Impulse! (the barrel came with it) On a 9 oz. with remote
Recommended Paintballs:
med. size bore
Strengths:
Ok so theres nothing better then a free barrel, am i right? But iits pretty affordable too. I guess if you really cant fdrop the extra 20 or so bucks then go for it. Always go smart parts! nice warrenties and they know what they're doing. never do the flatline stuff also. anyways its ok on my Impy, which is also really good (im writing that review next), but to be honest im upgrading my barrel to an AA
Weaknesses:
Ah, well its not a flatline (wait thats good) but its not a freak or all american or even a boomstick. Pretty sad huh ;) anyways yeah another 20 bucks and you got a 2 piece set up AA and you know thats good stuff so y not go for it?>??
Conclusion:
get this if you have to, otherwise go for something better. But remember: always, always, always buy a smartparts barrel. my friend went with the croud and bought a boomstick *begins to laugh* i like this more.
WGP A/C with this barrel ( saving up for freak set ) and Hinge with nitro
Recommended Paintballs:
anything-doesn't really matter
Strengths:
This Barrel is awesome. It's just the barrel that you should get to kinda bridge the gap between a stock barrel and a good high class barrel like a freak set or a boomy-that's what I'm doing at least. I think it's a good barrel just as it's self anyway, i mean, it's a smart parts item-so you KNOW it's good.
Weaknesses:
Nothing is really bad about this barrel just that it's not as good as a freak or somethin
Conclusion:
good barrel for a small price I like it!! Super accurate, quiet, durable and light.
Freak Kit tested, Dye Nyte Stick tested, Smart Parts Teardrop
Marker Setup:
Black Dragun Led w/ VL 12V revvy/ Smart Parts 12in Teardrop/ 68 cu Nitro Tank @3000 psi w dye sticky grips
Spyder Bottom Line w/ aftermarket expansion chamber and 12 in Smart Parts Boss Progressive
Recommended Paintballs:
PMI All Star, Diablo, and pretty much any PMI product like the el tigre's or something like those, definetly don't use zap paintballs they stink
Strengths:
The barrell is really quite especially on my gun.
Because of the ported hole positions the spin on the ball is really nice so it's very accurate but a longer barrel isn't going to be more accurate just because it's longer but a barrel's bore size matters for accuracy(that was for all the newbies because to many have 16 in barrels it's just wrong)
Weaknesses:
Absoloutley nothin, it rips as soon as you screw it on the marker
Conclusion:
This barrel is a great buy, it outperforms it's price tag.
Rating:
9 out of 10

-2002 Impulse (Black) SN: 14563
-12V black Revy
-20 oz Anti-siphon tank
Recommended Paintballs:
anything with medium or smaller bore
Strengths:
A great barrel for the price (stock with imp)
-Accurate i have never had it curve with my imp
-semi-silent, it is really quiet on my gun-but imps are already prety quiet
-Looks great, (Matches my impulse)
Weaknesses:
not much bad about it-
i really cant think of anything bad about it right now and it came stock so im not complaining
Conclusion:
if your looking for a cheap upgrade this or the nyte stick are both great barrels for under $50-if you have a little extra money get urself an all american-dat barrel is da best- but if you whant sumthing that is cheap and will improve your accuracy get dis
Stock Barrel, Smart Parts teardrop(tested), Custom Products one piece(tested)
Marker Setup:
Tippmann 98 custom, 14" smart parts progressive barrel, 20oz co2 tank
Recommended Paintballs:
PMI, marballizer
Strengths:
This barrel is an excellent upgrade from the Tippmann stock barrel(not so good). It is inexpensive, i got mine on sale for $50 at pw paintball, and with a good paint barrel match is a great accurte alternative to forking over a lot of dough for an expensive barrel. I have had 2 ball breaks in 500 paint, so i'm considering not using pmis. It is quiet and accurate with a good match. buy it as a first tippy upgrade. Good for rec balling.
Weaknesses:
Not much, other than the breaks with the pmi paint. Not as quiet as teardrop,, but teardrop is $25 more so u get what u pay for. i haven't had it long so i havent experienced much difficulty. Try to match paint well. I'm stilll workin on it.
Conclusion:
Buy this barrel if u need a new one at a good price. IT wont let u down. Just try to match good paint and remember if u want a quieter barrel, buy the teardrop. it is defienateyl worth the money and a great first upgrade dfrom the tippmann. I give it a 9 ecause to me a 9 is amazing and i havent used enough barrels to give it a 100
It looks tight! Looks cool with all the portings. The Name lines up with my gun. Its quieter.
Weaknesses:
The first time I put this barrel on, I broke 3 balls and sometimes a ball didnt come out. With my slap stick, It never broke and it always fed. Might be just that one time. When a ball breaks and you shoot another ball to clean it, it doesnt do a good job (but can still shoot).
Conclusion:
Its a good barrel, but I seem to like my stock one better. If I get a chance to sell it, I would. (To bad you cant test barrels before you buy them). It looks really nice. Price was 85$ CDN tax in.
M3 Black Dragun, 12v Revvy w/ X-Board, CiP Sweet Spot Trigger, Smart Parts 14" Boss Progressive
Recommended Paintballs:
Any RPS - Marbs/Tigre/All Star - Diablo - Blaze/Inferno/Hellfire all work great - Even Proball works Well in this Barrel
Strengths:
Very good performance for the Price, You can really get some accuracy over ANY stock barrel with it...Cant go wrong with the Smart Parts name Either. Dont use cheap paint if you dont like cleaning barrels, Ive had no Chops through 2 cases of Inferno.
Weaknesses:
Your going to hear ANYONE using this barrel how hard it is to clean the ports, Okay its not hard people...Try this - Take yer hopper off, Turn the gun upside down and fire twice(to remove any remaining paintballs)NOW put your finger over the Tip of the barrel and fire 5-10 Shots of Air through the barrel, This will blast the Ports perfectly Clean - Bingo done.
Conclusion:
Cheap, Great Performance/Price - Durable, And not to noisy...Buyt his barrel, good for a First upgrade of a Every day Runner.
I've used a Custom Products barrel and this to me is a lot better.
Marker Setup:
Tippmann 98 Custom, Progreesive Barrel, 24 and 12 oz. CO2's
Recommended Paintballs:
Team Pro and other 32 degrees work really well. But just about anything will do.
Strengths:
First day I got this, I went out to my backyard and set up a target. I was about 50 feet from the target shooting at it with my progressive. I hit it 10 out of 10 times. Then I did it with my stock, 5 out off 10 times. I then did it with the progressive again and backed up even farther. Yet, still nailing my target. I love this barrel. Its CHEAP, Accurate, and Quieter than the stock.
Weaknesses:
When someone else has one too and you get hit by it.
Conclusion:
Definatly the best barrel for the price. If you've been looking for a barrel, then you've just found it. The Smart Parts Progressive, 10 out of 10.
It shoots accurate and isn't too picky with paint.
Weaknesses:
The ports are kinda hard to clean out.
Review:
It was alright, I paid $50 for it and now it's only $30 from most places. It works well but for the same price a CP 1 piece can be picked up and it preforms much better.
It shot really well with all of the PMI/RPS paint except for big ball.
Conclusion:
A very good barrel for the price. If you want to spend a 10 more bucks get the teardrop, its quieter or get the CP 1 piece. i give it a 9 cause its a little loud.
Rating:
8 out of 10
