Odyssey Halo B w/ RIP Drive (with or without V35 board) Reviews
What is RipDrive?
RipDrive is a manual feed mechanism for HALO B. It replaces the mainshaft of the unit and allows manual-preloading of the drive spring.
Who is RipDrive for?
RipDrive was originally conceived for tournament players who *have* to be in the game. It is available to anyone that wants to have a backup system for if their force feed system goes down or their batteries die.
How RipDrive works:
By rotating the ripdrive located on the bottom of the loader, the player can feed multiple balls into the ballstack at a time, allowing them to keep playing (at full fire rate!). Depending on the height of your feedneck, you can pre-tension as many as 12-15 balls for firing.
Other Benefits:
When finished playing at the end of the day, rotating the RipDrive in reverse also allows you to easily unload the tensioned ball stack and empty your HALO B. It also allows you unjam bad paint. It can also be used to pre-load balls at the chrono without turning your loader on.
Product Availability
The Odyssey Halo B w/ RIP Drive (with or without V35 board) is newer, so it should be commonly available, both new and used. Check out the Places to Buy links below for places to purchase it new.
The hopper weighs as much as my gun........slid into a bunker and it hit a peg and put a gigantic crack in the hopper. I order new shels and i find out the board is cracked. SO i buy a new board. now that i have all of the stuf i cant put it back together.
This hopper is amazeing it is my first hopper and i will not get a differnt brand in my pb carrer. The hopper buzzes along at 22 bps and seeing as tournaments dial you dwon to 15bps it keeps up jsut fine victory is a waste of money unless you play uncapped local games on a really fast marker. It is very durable mine has taken a couple hits and its still going. The only hopper that compares to this is the reloader b whihc is basically the same thing. But if you use dark shelled paint on a regular basis i would recomend getting the reloader instead as it is sound activated both are great hoppers
Conclusion:
Great hopper fast would highly recommend this or a pulse to anyone DO NOT BUY AN EGG buy a halo or reloader or pulse i gave it a 9 because the lid isnt great but an elastic around the lid and body keeps it flying up everytime you pop it open
Spyder VS3 w/red body & barrel kits, Halo B w/ victory & rip, ANS 68/4500 HP
Strengths:
Fast and Reliable
looks really cool
Magnetic lid
Rip drive
Weaknesses:
Clean up (taking apart)
Review:
The Halo B w/v 35 and Rip is an awesome loader. It always keeps up with your gun with out creating a paint smoothie or double feeding. I found this loader really easy to operate with out gloves. I haven't tried it with gloves, but it seems like the button might be hard to activate while wearing gloves.
I really like the magnetic lid; it secures your paint in your hopper. I shaked a fully filled halo upside down and the lid never popped open. So you can feel secure that during action you will not spill you paint due to the lid popping open.
The neck is really thick, but it fits nice and snug on my VS3 with out having to sand down the neck like some people have stated. The overall durability feels really good. But I haven't dropped it or smashed on something yet.
The rip drive comes in really handy if your batteries go out or in case of a jam. Neither has happen to me yet, but it's nice know am prepared if I get a jam or my batts go bye bye.
The only real con on this hopper is that if you need to take it apart to clean, it's not really easy. And there is always the chance of loosing the lid spring.
Conclusion:
Overall this hopper is just awsome: it works fast and relable, durable, blalanced on gun and it just looks really sharp.

Review:
I am a big fan of Halo loaders. they offer a consistent, fast shooting loader that operates well with almost any type of marker. I got one for my Mini, but i use it on my friends Ion. It has never jammed on me, and I have never experienced any kind of double feed problem. It just shoots as fast as you can pull the trigger. Some people would say you need a victory board, but I think 17 bps is plenty fast. I love this loader. I also use a speed feed and would recomend combining that with this product any day.
Conclusion:
The Halo w/ Rip is still state of the art. It can keep up with almost anyone's fingers, and with a few ups, it can keep up with any gun out there. I would buy one if you are looking for something consistent and well designed.

Review:
Well i got the halo on my birthday, not for it i ordered it myself and it came on that day,
i wanted to wait i while to write this to use it a couple of times,
well it is probably the best hopper i have used
PROS:
fast
realiable
cone driven
has back up with rip drive
strong
CONS:
expensive,
small (holds about one pod)
requires sanding or new feedneck (i suggest new feedneck)
well i would get this over any other hopper, and if you never need the rip drive then good for you but you might as well get it now already installed with one mine was 103 without it would have been 97 so not a big difference,
Conclusion:
If you are reading this i am guessing you are not new to the game because this is a halo we are talking about not a gravity feed, if you are new and looking for an electric hopper look at evo 2's or empire 2's, but for everyone else, if you are looking for a new hopper that you cant outrun, get this, i give it a nine cause nothing is perfect
ion with cp drop forward and cp on/off gas through
Strengths:
*Fast feed rate
*Strong battery gate
Weaknesses:
Power button is thin plastic and breaks
Review:
Ok well this hopper is very easy to operate and it is a very good choise if you are a fast shooter and need to get the job done. It has a low battery indication a rip drive (those are very useful). The halo hopper can also be upgraded to give a 50 bps feed rate but this hopper feeds fast enough so you shouldn't need that upgrade
Conclusion:
If you need a reliable hopper get the halo reloader b
First off, this hopper can feed around 35 bps. unless you have a special board, chances are that you can't outshoot that. Then there is also the rip drive. Just the other day I forgot to change my batteries, but rip drive still allowed me to own. I played an entire day of gaming with just rip drive! The only downside is that you only get about 15 balls every time you wind it. Plus, this thing is practically built like a tippmann. I'm not saying you can take a hammer to it in your garage and it will still work, but it is very tough.
Conclusion:
This is the best hopper ever! It might be a bit pricy but it definately pays off

Weaknesses:

Review:
If your have a fast gun and looking for loader to keep up with it, this is definitely the best out there. Your only other real choices are an egg or reloader b. The eggs definitely a matter of taste, although most i've seen on the feild have been wrapped in tape and the re loader b (same as the halo) but has a sound activated board.
The styling of the shell is clean and functional with a good range of colours to match your gear. Overal build quality is solid and the lid shuts with a very posative click. The neck is big (as mentioned in a few reviews) but if you have a decent clamp i.e a sure fit, you'll be able to mount it without sanding it down.
Some complaints have been aimed toward the motor strength with the possibility of pushing paint past the detents and double feeding, not really a problem with 'cockers due to their closed bolt design. I also know a lot of guys who use them with open bolts and have had no such problems.
Feed wise the loaders plenty quick enough for my cocker, even with qev's and the mag 44 ram, i've yet to outshoot it. Even if your marker and fingers are faster lol, get a victory board which is capable of pushing the halo to a consistant 35bps.
The Rip Drive is another handy feature, if you lose power mid game or your at the chrony, you can still shoot up to 15 bps by tensioning the ball stack through the sprung loaded drive cone.
There is one issue though, if your unlucky enough to get paint inside the loader (as will happen at the most inconvenient time) there is no way to thoroughly clean it without taking it apart. It would be easier if you could remove the cone from the cup without taking the top section off the feed tube, which can only be done with the hopper dismantled. Not a problem at home, but under pressure can be real pain. If you do get a break and the paint is right through the feed tube, it can be cleaned with a small rag tied to some string, just like a barrel squegee. It might not get it all, but only takes a few minutes and means you can get back on the feild quicker.
Conclusion:
Very good loader which can keep up with just about any marker, just a real pain to clean if it turns into a blender.

proto rail black dust
newdesignz slik trigger
proto alloy back cap
halo b w/ rip drive
68/45 cf tank
Strengths:
Speed size and capicaty
can hand load the cone
Weaknesses:
Im not going to say the weight
Its more of the small lid
The button
Review:
Ok first off if you think the weight of this hopper is to much go hit the gym
Im a front player and use a 4+3 harness(i use all 7) and still make the fifty on break
do some squats
K back on topic
This hopper keeps up with my rail nicely
With the rip in it you can pre load your spring and also get rid of jams
Its tuff i play snake and it takes a nice beating and sit rips out nicely
The button is a little small to hit with gloves on
My biggie problem with the hopper is the small lid its hard to get a whole pod in there without spilling some of them but when your runing and reloading is a realy big pain in the a$$
Edit 3/22
ive had a speed feed awhile and it works a hell of alot better
Conclusion:
Overall this hopper rips
besides the lid this hopper is nice and if 22bps is still slower then your gun get the victory board for it
