The Freak Barrel is designed to fit any paint. There are eight different full length inserts for the back of the barrel to accommodate virtually any bore size paint. You can purchase the whole kit (Freak Deluxe Barrel Kit), or you can purchase the inserts individually. You can also choose from 4 different lengths, and assorted colored fronts. Splash colors will be available in Winter 2000. The barrel comes with one insert. Standard bore sizes are listed below:
X7 Classic with Trinity X36 stock, Pro-Connect 3, and 14 inch Freak.
Cheap, useful, assortment of lengths.
Straight bore, doesn't ease the paint in.
This is the greatest barrel I've used. It allows you to size your paint which gives you great improvements in accuracy and efficiency. It also has a great assortment of barrel lengths you can get. You can make the barrel anywhere from 12 to 20 inches. Another cool thing is that even though they're expensive new, there's enough used ones floating around that you can get one in decent condition for cheap. I got a A5 thread back, 14 inch Freak front, and a .689 insert for 45 bucks. And inserts are pretty cheap at 10 bucks a pop. All in all, this is a great barrel set up and I would recommend it to anyone.
This is a great barrel system. I highly recommend it. I have it and I'll never get rid of it. The only reason I gave it a 9 out of 10 is because nothing is perfect, not even this.

AGD Emag valve,ULE body, RPG sub zero feed neck, Level X, AGD Intelli double trigger frame with dye sticky grips, Custom Products direct mount on/off , 10in Freak barrel, Empire Reloader I, Pure Energy 88ci /3000psi with Dye cover.
Back up marker: Smart Parts Vision Impulse, Tape worm, CP LPR Reg, Freak barrel, CP Unimount. 48/3000 Pure Energy steely.
Any, as long as they are round
Can be used with any paint. No longer limited to one kind or one size.
Issue with having 3 pcs vs 2. Still great barrel.
Well its the Freak. Great barrel, lots of colors and styles. The best thing that SP did was come out with the SS (stainless steel) inserts. I only have the 3 SS that I use the most, rest are aluminum. The aluminum ones are great too and I have never had mine bend or warp from use. I did by an empire ball sizer so I didnt have to try and put a ball down the insert to check for size. Makes finding the size much quicker and easier. I do love how many fronts they have to customize to your marker and liking. I have use the Freak for a long time and the all american one pc and two. Best barrels.
This is a great barrel, you dont need to buy all the inserts just the ones that you use. Makes having a barrel system small and easy. I do also recommend CP and Dyes 2 pc systems but I find they are more spendy and hard to find used.
Spyder electra 09 black, 68/4500 crossfire HPA tank, 14 inch smart parts freak barrel, empire reloader b hopper
I use RPS Evil paintballs and they seem to work extremely well
When i had first got my marker, one of the first things that i went after was the smart parts freak barrel kit. I was looking to buy a good barrel kit, because i had heard that the spyder electra's stock barrel was not all that and plus i was looking for a 14 inch barrel. Well i found the barrel kit on ANS gear and decided what the heck, you know it had great reviews from numerous websites. Well i spent the $150 and i tell you what, what a barrel! It has amazing accuracy and i am so glad that i spent the extra for a barrel kit like this. EXCELLENT!!
This is a great product, can be used with any paint due to the sizers. Makes the marker quieter. Makes the marker shoot dead on if you size the paint right. The only down fall Ican find is that after you get a paint break in the back of the barrel where the sizer is, it can be a pain to get it out due to it being oily. Ya I know really a stretch to find a complaint. I would however like to see this in a solid barrel instead of the 2 peice.
Want to be the dude that does the head shots then get this kit
ion stock barrel, smart parts linear barrel, dye ultralite
smart parts ion -45/4500 dye throttle-CP clamp feedneck-14in. freak
inserts allow you to use almost any, my favorite are pmi premiums with .689 insert.
Accurate, interchangable bore sizes, don't need to buy new backs for different paint sizes
i bought the 14inch freak kit from my local store for about $150. i was going to get the linear but saved some extra money and got the freak for the interchangable inserts. They are very useful if you shoot different kinds of paint. This barrrel is much more accurate than many stock barrels. If you have a few extra bucks i reccomend getting this barrel. In a test shooting at a target 50ft. away using pmi premiums with the .689 insert. There was about a 5inch grouping with many paintballs on top of each other for 25shots. I also went to the field nearby and played and hit a player at about 70ft. away with one shot. This was probably luck, but the barrel helped.
this barrel is very accurate and can change bore sizes in a few minutes. Even though it is kind of pricy if you have the money you should get it. I haven't had any problems with this product so it is getting a 10.

Full Freak kit IMP threading
any that have a shell and fill

I have used this barrel kit for a good amount of time now... i feel it is the best thing i have honestly ever shot. In my list of similar products used i have many barrels but of course the kits will shoots better than the 1 or even some 2 piece barrels
------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ----
Customizability... This barrel comes with 4 different style backs (depending on year) and 5 different fronts with 6 different length fronts in probably about 7 threadings...
colors - unlimited... they are aluminum fronts and backs so they can be anno'd to match
threading - imp, A/C, angel, A-5, 98, SFT, NXT(imp), old style angel (rare nowadays)
Accuracy... the barrel has 8 different inserts which are all microhoned to a pretty tight tolerance meaning that 98% of the time the bore on the insert is very very close to the actual bore of the insert... this is a huge problem with many kits out there. they have inserts with the same bore (but different markings) due to low tolerances in production...
But, with the freak kit and a properly chosen insert it is possible to shoot a 6" grouping at 20bps full auto from 75 feet away, which is pretty rediculous... i also shoot a 2-3" grouping at 75-100 feet on single shot with my ion and tac-one
decibel level... this is dependant on the front you choose... the order of quietest to loudest is as follows
with the AA front on my mag it is nearly silent, and with the rain tip it is not too much worse than the freak front (this is why it is disputable because it is believed to be the loudest)
weight... its not the lightest barrel out there but its surprisingly not that much heavier than a J&J ceramic edge kit
the inserts are made of aluminum and therefore can be bent or damaged if dropped... but this is the case with a lot of things in paintball and isnt really a weakness...
I personally love this product... i currently have 2 backs (A/C, imp) 3 fronts (10" AA, 12" teardrop, and 14" freak) and they all shoot amazing and equally as accurate... however, the product is not without flaws because tolerances arent 100% and people will eventually get a bad batch like anyone could.
I personally got a bad batch and actually got 3 bad mis-shapen inserts and the balls would freak out when they came out of the tip... but SP replaced them for free and there are no problems now
I highly reccomend this barrel system because 2 backs, 3 fronts, and 8 inserts means 6 complete barrel kits (in essence) and has only cost me $140 (i bought the parts used)
only give it a 9/10 because no product is without flaws and the tolerances are great but not the best

I have a black/red epiphany with virtue board, virtue eyes, smart parts q-lock feedneck, smart parts s-rail, smart parts freak back/all american tip.
Any properly bore matched paintballs
Exchangable bore sizes and variety of tips available
Heavier than some, price
I bought this barrel about 6 months ago for my SP Epiphany, works great. You can get a variety of sized bores and match them up nicely with your wide spectrum of paintballs avaliable. Thing performs great and looks awsome with an All American Tip on it. You can get the different sized bore inserts very cheap and customize these with the different colors. Two thumbs up in my book
Revolutionary changable bore which only cost 12-15 per bore instead of different full backs, get it
Smart Parts Epiphany
68ci 4500psi pure energy tank
Halo B with rip drive
Smart Parts Ion
Anything as long as you have good bore match
Get the boremaster
Nothing besides price perhaps
This is one of the best barrels on the market for smart parts. The interchangeable inserts allow you to match your paint to bore perfectly, giving you an incredibly accurate shot every time. You can also change the tips to the all american, jr freak, tactical, etc.
All in all, the money spent for this thing will save you a load of time cleaning the barrel!
Anybody who wants to shoot accurately primarily tournament players
Stock barrels of all kinds
Spyders tippys ions/sp8s
Smart Parts Ion, Virtue Boad, Pro EQ bolt, Sp 360 QEV, Full Freak Barrel Kit, Hybrid Virtue Grip, Q lock feed neck, New Designz Roller Trigger, New Designz Scopian frame, Virtue'd Viewloader Vlocity (Basically nothing stock except for the reg)
Smartparts NXT Nasty Shocker #27 Tadao Board
Any kind thats the beauty of it
The freak kit has resulted in fewer paint breaks in the barrel. im not going to say it made my gun shoot striater; however it did look nice and work nice...i break so few paintballs in the barrel this causes less cleaning of the marker...which can and will lead to acute laziness....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Awsome upgrade really pricey go with the freak jr and just get the .687 thru the .691
Smart Parts ION
Halo B w/ Rip Drive
Pure Energy preset 68 cu 3000 psi Compressed air tank
Cp Razor drop
12 in Freak barrel w/ All american tip
Halo B w/RIP Drive
Pure energy 48/3000 preset air tank
any its a kit
Shoots thru breaks fairly well
Inserts fit any paintballs
None so far
Ive used this kit for a few months now on my ion and so far it has worked flawlessly. its very accurate and its also a bonus not having to worry about what size of paintball you are using. another good thing is the upgradeability, you can change lengths and colours too. theres also the allamerican tip for those fans who want to upgrade their all a's to freaks. This is overall what you should expect out of a kit
Im going to give it a 9 because no matter what itll work and its not really expensive. also nothing is perfect
