Paintballs:

smaller pmi's
Strengths: Cheap, accurate, nice military look.
Weaknesses: Availability.
Review: This is one of the best barrels you can put on a spyder, good accuracy and low price. If you want a rifled barrel that is a little better go for the empire twister. Also the psycho ballistics aradus is a great barrel and if you can buy it used for $35 i would go with that but this CMI is also good.
Conclusion: Good all around barrel for woods ball and speed ball. and for $25 it's a good buy.

Strengths: Low Price
use most paints
Weaknesses: Hard to clean in the field
Review: I have a 16" on an A5 and a 14" on a 98c.
These barrels are great. Both shoot pretty much pin point.
If you break paint make sure you have a good squeezie wit a rat tail on the end.
The rifling is harder to clean.
After seeing it work on my 98c I replaced my barrel kit on my A5 with one.

I beleive for woodsball this is all the barrel you will ever need.
Of course you won't be able to brag about your 150 dollar barrel but when you send
the top of the line barrels walking back to the staging area. You can brag about your 25 dollar barrel.

I like to think of this as my deflaitor.
Conclusion: Can't go wrong. Nice barrel

Paintballs:
Any Paint will work with this barrel, try to avoid really cheap paint though.
Strengths: Great accuracy, dependable service. Great from short, to medium range.
Weaknesses: May chop balls, which effects accuracy greatly. Not self cleaning.
Review: This barrel is one of the best that I have used, nothing compares to its performance. This barrel is so quite that it'll sound like its shooting too hot. The muzzle break is a one of a kind design feature, and the porting helps even more to silence the shot.
Conclusion: I do recommend this barrel to anyone that is looking to increase their accuracy of their marker. 9 out of 10 for the fact that I have chopped a few balls in the barrel, and the lose of accuracy one a chop occurs.

Apex barrel.. I prefer the cmi
j&j barrels- prob'ly better, but cost more and don't self-clean as advertised
Stock barrels..
Marker Setup: 2k2 timmy, was 2.9, st ram+cap, evil detonator hpr, freak kit, 88/45 crossy, vlocity, empire on/off with empire rail, hybrid grips.

2k3 dragun 275 psi blowback, ricochet apache, tornado valve, t1 va, uncapped lcd board, "bouncy" eyes, psychoballistics z-drop, palmer stabilizer, cip bolt, polished internals (lol).
Recommended
Paintballs:
rps big balls fit well
scorch
any diablo paint
Strengths: Doesn't break balls
Looks
Price
Pretty quiet
Weaknesses: Rifling... once you chop you can't stop
Not as good as a kit (XXduhXX)
Review: I bought the 14" version of this barrel. It was great and never broke balls. Not very loud, but not real quiet either. I'd rather have an efficient barrel that's a little louder. Once you chop (due to gun issues), you won't stop until you clean the barrel.

Accuracy is good, but could be better. Barrel kits are obviously better.
Conclusion: I'd buy this over a j&j barrel, due to its good price
It is durable and well priced. The anno is nice.

I would buy it again if I wanted a straight one piece barrel.
10/10 for a great barrel. Don't hesitate to buy it

Strengths: Accurate, cheap, cool style
Weaknesses: None so far, only tested mind you.
Review: I just bought 2 of these, for both my MR2s. I just tested them, and with an electronic hopper, they'll do damage. Very accurate, and the price is only $30, so its even better. I shot off the porch with it, and it boosted the preformace mabey around 20-30 feet. If your for senario esq. games, its got a great stylet to it.
Conclusion: If you need a more accurate barrel, and don't want to spend alot, buy this barrel. Plus, it fits the Spyder MR-2.

Tippmann stock barrel
Marker Setup: -Tippmann 98 custom w/ response trigger
-Truflite barrel
-Eectric hopper
Strengths: With this barrel my tippmann shoots alot further and is alot more accurate.
Weaknesses: If you break a ball it is even worse then the stock barrel
Review: First the good

-First off it is cheap i picked mine up on ebay for i believe it was 15 dollars
-Acurate shoots almost as straight as my friends flatline but not as far.

Then the Bad

-If you break a ball in it you must clean it or your balls will not come anywhere near your target.
Conclusion: Good barrel for the money plus it is accurate

Review: I bought this barrel for a cheap upgrade from stock. I didnt really find much improvement to be honest. The rifling make re-balls curve HORRIBLE. If you have a chop they curve just as bad. Sometimes the barrel is hard to get on and the threads have bent on mine alittle.

Conclusion: Not recommended because i can barely see a difference from a decent stock barrel.

Strengths: Barrel is very quite and accurate
Weaknesses: Shiny glossy paint scratches easy
Review: When i first got my tru-flight barrel i paid only $30 for it. After buying i thought about how cheap it was and if it would be good. The first couple of shots were constant hitting about half a foot away from about 15 feet. Adjusted chrono to about 270fps and set up a milk gallon about 50 feet away and got it fist shot. I am not very good at aiming(cant hold gun still) and i hit the carton consistently averaging about .5in to 1in apart. I later found a fallen down tree about 4in in diameter stood at about 25 feet away and got it fist try.
Conclusion: Very nice barrel for 30 bucks very accurate and quite

Review: This is a great barrel for people who do not want to spend to much money. Its shoots pretty straight and doesnt break to much paint. looks really cool on a pimped out tippmann! i wouldnt sudgest it to a speedball player. But for woods its alright. I would personaly pay $10-$15 more for a j&j. they shoot extreamly straight and dont bust to much paint.
Conclusion: Good barrel for those you dont have deep pockets

I guess any kind will work. But it doesn't hurt to get some good stuff.
Strengths: Long
Quiet
Looks cool
Accurate when you need it.
Inexpensive
Weaknesses: Hard to fit in the Pro/Carbine Stock
Kinda difficult to clean the ports.
Review: I'm only a newbie paintball player and don't know a whole lot. So take this and do what you want. I'm just stating what I know about this product from experience.

When I got my Carbine at Christmas, I know that the first thing to get was a new barrel. At the spur of the moment, I found this baby for less then $30. When I used it for the first time last weekend, I was not pleased at all with it. So I went out and got some better paint and this weekend I used our chronograph on it. That made a big difference.

I was getting people out like that! It was so nice on accuracy, maybe not the best but better then the stock. You could easily move around with it. Since it's aluminum ( I think), you don't have to worry too much about hurting it. But still take care of it.

It's much quieter then the standard.

When I used it, didn't break a ball at all while I was playing. At the end I was just shooting off my paint and a ball did break, but I don't think it messed up the accuracy too much. But too clean paint out of the ports, I'd use running water and dry it off really good.
Conclusion: My final conclusion is that this barrel is a sweet up grade form the standard. I suggest it to other beginners and those who play in the woods but wants something cheap and reliable.
