The Q-Lock solves all your hopper issues. Open the quick release lever, insert the hopper, hand-tighten the thumbscrew and then close the lever. No tools needed. The Q-Lock has an abrasive internal surface to securely hold any hopper in its place. The Q-Lock is currently available for all Smart Parts markers. The Q-Lock also fits most center feed Spyder and Piranha markers with an adapter.
Product Availability
The Smart Parts Q-Lock Feed Tube is older, so while it may be available used and in a few cases new, it is not commonly available anymore.

Ok when i first bought my ion i had the guy at the shop install the qlock. He loctited it on so i didnt have any problems with in stripping or anything. All the Hoppers ive tryed in it fit great (Empire reloader B, Egg, and Halo TSA). Just dont try to pull your hopper off the qlock even when the lever is pulled back cause ull scrap ur hopper neck. Always untighten it first.
Lapco Clamping Feedneck- Great feedneck, but the Spyder model was pretty tall. It was easy to use however. I would definatly prefer my Q-Lock over this though.
Ion Stock Feedneck- Simply horrible. It's okay at first if you can fit your hopper into it, but then later on you'll break o-rings and whatnot. Q-Lock is a huge improvemnt

Review:
To start off, the stock Ion feedneck is horrible. It doesn't hold well, it's quite tall, and it doesn't look very good either. So, I was upgrading my Ion, and this was the first thing I bought for it. It was a great choice. This feedneck is in my opinion, unmatched when it comes to feednecks. This feedneck is super low profile. With this feedneck, I can make my Eggy II touch my Ion body. Yeah, that's low. I used to own a Lapco Clamping Feedneck for my Pilot ACS. That was a great feedneck too. However, sometimes it would be very difficult to twist the collar and release the hopper. The Q-Lock is simple to use. If your using a thin walled hopper, you must be careful not to over tighten it though. I've never had any problems with it however. For some people, I imagine the price is stoping them from buying this feedneck. Well if that is true, you should really consider it anyways, even if it means saving a bit longer. It looks great and works great. Nothing more. Yet another great product from Smart Parts.
Conclusion:
If your looking to replace the Ion feedneck with something of quality, then buy the Q-Lock. I can't think of a better feedneck.
This is a great product. Good quality engineering and finish. The only problem I had was that it is possible to over-tighten it which results in a broken feed-neck. Yup, that happened to me with my Halo TSA. Kind of annoying but now I know better than to over-tighten it.
Conclusion:
I'll give it an 10 out of 10 becuase it essentially can't be improved and the only problem I had with it was due to my own mis-use.

All in all, Great Product!
Most of the comments above are self explanatory, although tightening the feedneck around the hopper (and twisting) causes a sandpaper-like affect on the bottom centimeter of the hopper. There is a cross-grooved surface inside the feedneck that grips the hopper, and it turned while in the Q-lock it scratches and sands down the neck, as said above. This can be fixed by purely sliding/pushing the hopper into the feedneck and not twisting it.
Conclusion:
If you are in the market for a clamping feedneck, I'd say get it. It is a solid product that has very little wrong with it. Although it will most likely cause some scratches on your hopper, they are bearable. I guess a couple of scratches nobody will see when playing is better than a 200 dollar hopper cracked in half on the floor because your twisting feedneck didn't hold it tight enough.

When i first opened the box, i noticed the anodizing on it. It was perfect and a dark blue metallic color. It was beautiful. Getting it onto the gun was not very hard, but the hard part was getting the old stock one off. You must loc-tite it on or else, with the weight of your hopper, it could rip out of the breach and wreck the threads on the breach. This would cause a very expensive fix. Just loc-tite it the first time and you will be good to go. The clamp on this thing is amazing. It is so strong that when i try to turn my evo, the feed tube flexes, because the clamp is so strong. I've heard that it is the best feed neck on the market and i believe it. It is awesome.
Conclusion:
This is the very best feed neck out there. Buy it!
plastic elbows--horrible

Review:
I saw this feedneck on a lot of ion setups and decided to give it a try. It was about 40$ at my local proshop which is a little high price for a feedneck but well worth it. On an ion it sits the hopper so low that it almost touches the shell and lower profile means less chance of getting splattered. It looks really good also. It was a little difficult to get the stock ion feedneck off, I had to put mine in a vice grip but once it was off, the q-lock is very easy to install. It holds the hopper very securely.
Conclusion:
If you have an Ion and still have the stock feedneck you need to buy the Q-lock. You will be greatly satisfied.
