The Phantom Thunder Grenade Launcher is made out 100% metal.
This unit is built to last and able to take all grenade shells.

The unit can be mounted on any RIS 20mm or 7/8 weaver systems.
To mount this grenade launcher on the T16, T68, RAP4 or any other paintball guns with a standard M4 handguard will require this 20mm Rail.
Product Availability
The Real Action Paintball Phantom Thunder Grenade Launcher is newer, so it should be commonly available, both new and used.

Review: I recently purchased a phantom launcher short and 2x m68 thunder grenades and have tested them at my local field as the grenade launcher is to loud to use around my community.

To start off this grenade launcher is awsome. However like most things from RAP4 I have experienced a problem with the grenades. The refill valve on the grenade where the charger is inserted sometimes sticks causeing the grenade to not seal correctly. Other than that the grenades and launcher have been fine.

As mentioned before the grenade launcher is extreamly loud. About as loud as a 9mm handgun give or take. Therefore the intimidation factor is huge! Accuracy is not the greatest as the grenades ahve a shotgun effect and tend to fly everywhere.
Conclusion: overall I think that this is a great add-on to any gun that adds intimidation and fire power to the wepon.

Review: I ordered and recieved (1) Short launcher, (2) Shells, (2) Chargers, (1) pack of .43 Cal paintballs, (1) pack of oversize .43 cal Paintballs

The day after recieving the gear i finally got to test it out. So i thought. After reading everything and doing research on the net ( Videos) i was set. I hooked up the charger and tried to charge one of the grenades. It would not take the air. I did some more research to make sure i was doing it right. I was, as it is pretty straight foreword. After about 45 min trying, it finally it took a charge. I slide it in the chamber and pushed the button. Poof! out poured 35 balls at about 10 feet. i guess 300psi wasnt enough. i set it to 600psi and charge it. It charged but now i hear it leaking. This was happening to both grenades. I noticed that one of the shells were loose and when i went to tighten it up a bunch of small ball bearing fell out.
Conclusion: To make a long story short, the BIG money i spent on this setup is a complete waste of time and money. Save your money and spend it on something else. I wish i had taken the others' advice on this. I do not recommend this product.

Marker Setup: Tippmann A-5, BT-16 barrel kit, RAP4 40mm Rail, RAP4 removable magazine clip, RAP4 Rail Foregrip, Shocktech superfly bolt, Tippmann six position car stock, pure energy remote line, Brass Eagle 20 OZ tank [With ON/OFF], Tasco red dot, RAP4 Offset Hopper, RAP4 A-5 20mm Riser mount, TechT Vortex MOD, NCstar Laser & Flashlight Quick Release Set and a Camoflauge vest.

Spare A-5: Tippmann A-5, BT-16 Barrel Kit, Six position car stock, Tippmann E-grip, OPSgear M16 Mag clip, Proteam Tac Cap and ADCO Hot Shot.
Strengths: Intimidating [Big BANG(noise) for your buck]
Fires a buckshot of four paintballs [.68 cal]
Weaknesses: Expensive.
Trigger hard to press and recoil is painful.
Bad accuracy at mid range.
Heavy.
Review: When I bought the grenade launcher system [Phantom grenade launcher (long), two .68cal Grenade shells and the charger.], it looked pretty good on my A-5. After reading the instructions and fired the grenade launcher it worked fine. However the Grenade charger started leaking out of the velocity adjuster but I can't seem to find out the problem with it on the inside. Because of that problem my grenade launcher system is now left aside on my shelf waiting to be attached on my Spare A-5[My Spare doesn't have a rail to attach the launcher].
Conclusion: I would not recommend this launcher system to anyone except for those who are Mil-Sim Fans and because of the fact I've never hit anyone with the launcher [yet]. So i'm giving this a 5 out of 10 because the other 5 was for poor accuracy and a bad charger.

Weaknesses: HEAVY, unaccurate, reloadings a bit tough to get down
Review: about five months ago i went insane and bought my whole current setup from RAP. the main marker i bought the T68 Extreme Sniper Package, which comes with Phantom Thunder Grenade Launcher (long). and i also bought 2 more M68 Grenades (if you buy the launcher by its self, note that it doesn't come with grenades). first of all, I obviously play more of a Sniping style. so one may say, What the hell does a sniper need a grenade launcher for? ill tell you. my marker is not exactly a CQW, which is why i have my dual pistols. but the launcher has 3 incredible uses: 1)This thing is LOUD, about as loud as 9mm hand gun, and on a PB field that is unheard of. so its great to make people get low in there holes so you can run away. 2) this thing is POWERFUL , if you hit something they will know, the first person i hit was a smaller guy about 20 ft away who was trying to bunker rush me, i popped up and release the round into him. 3 hit his left leg tripping him one in his right bicep making his drop his marker and the last one missed, I can still remembering his rolling across the mud. I being horrified, sprained up to see if he was dead, the first words out oh his mouth when i rolled him over was "i want one". the third use is one specifically for Qloaders users, one of the biggest complaints to this grand reloading system was that your marker can't be fired while reloading. this launcher works like a shotgun. therefore you have on scary shot before the shoot you while your reloading.
but of course everything cool has its downfall
two major and one minor problems i had
1) this thing is HEAVY. about 2.5 pounds plus another .8 pounds for the grenade. that's alot to put on front of your marker. it makes handling poorer and slower, my sling helps with the weight but it is still alot of bulk
2)OK if you have a wish to ACCURATELY hit anything beyond 20ft, then this is not for you. it has a shotgun effect and has a max range about 75 feet, but um wont hit what you aim at if its smaller then a garage door, but it is fun to fire on an advancing squad see them all duck and then 3 of them stumble to their feet with guns in the air stunned.
3)this thing is very tricky to reload, when i first started it took me about 15 sec to get one out in an pouch and another one in. so you might want to practice while watching T.V. and receive strange glances from everyone in the room that a mass murder would espect. but on to charging the grenades, this is a thing that takes ALOT of practice to get everything right. i would advise geting some practice balls from RAP so you can mess with it inside. (I advise this cuz i blew a hole in my fence and no one was very happy
Conclusion: Overall, if you got the cash and need a scare to run away device, it is also GRANDLY INTIMIDATING. when people see me walk on the field the first words are always "does that hurt?" or more simply "OH GAWD". in the end, great fun but very costly. i would recommend it for a woodland player, to slow to work well in speed ball

Paintball
Experience:
2 years
Marker Setup: ALL FACTORY STOCK
Strengths: The only strength I have notices is the construction of the launcher.
Weaknesses: The charger has been nothing but trouble!!
Review: I bought the launcher, two shells, and the charger from RAP4 and was hoping to have this great addition to my gun. It looks really good on my gun. That is really all it does. The charger to charge the shells has been a major head ache. I contacted the company via e-mail several times and all they did was send a "o"- ring. When hooking the charger up tp the tank, it leaks and does not seal properly. I have tried several different tanks and seals. The charger is STILL NOT WORKING!!
Conclusion: I would suggest to really do your research on this product. I have NOT been happy with the charger at all.
