Well whats good?...Well Everything. The reg is bullet proof. Unlimate in reliable. Completetly rebuildable which is important for tourney play. I have had 4 apoc units for about 5 years and they all still work perfectly. the 4500 psi models tend to be harder on reg seats, but I have only had to replace 2 or 3 of them. That's better than having to send it off to have it fixed...("cough" "mania") On off valve rocks. and for you guys having trouble turning yours on and off....try not mounting it to where the set screw on your cradle does not sit on top of the on off assembly. I cant say enough good things about this system. If you can afford the big price tag the choice should be clear. The only real downfall to this system is the lackluster support AA provides.....this company is almost non existant.....you cant even get someone on the phone. But its not really a problem though because if you can rebuild a mag you can rebuild and Air America Reg. Parts are also not a problem to get....any automag rebuild kit will work.
Weaknesses:
Customer Support is poor. Distribution is also poor. It's next to impossible to get their products some times.
Conclusion:
The AA Apoc system is by far the best HP system on the market. Im rating this system at a 9 only becasue their customer support sucks so bad. Other wise the product would be a 10. How well you stand by your product is as important as how good your product is. Despite this I still heavily recommend their product.

Very reliable and consistant. Put a tournament cap on the adjustment screw, and your velocity is set every time that you turn on the tank. I have owned this thing since January 96, and it has only went down on me twice. Once, I bent a piston, and the other was a regulator seat. Easy fixes, especially when you can buy Air America parts kits. The on-off is a nice feature.
Weaknesses:
The regulator is a little on the heavy side, but the thing is a workhorse. I deal with the weight to get the shot to shot consistancy. The on-off could be easier to turn. This seems to vary from tank to tank, and will also be harder to turn when you have more pressure in the tank. You need a wrench to turn in on sometimes.
Conclusion:
I really like this regulator. I replaced the original 114ci/3000psi tank with an 88ci/4500psi pure energy tank, and the thing still rocks. All that I had to do is replace the burst disk (Air America ok'd this procedure.) I own an armaggedeon tank (68/4500) and it was nice, but saved little weight (the internals are still stainless) but didn't like not having an on-off valve. I feel that this is one of the best regulators to have been produced. It has shot great on an mags, cockers and angels. It's a little heavy, but it is reliable. Come on, I've used it for five full years.
