A much lighter version of the boomstick. Still the same 2 piece design, but all aluminum.
Product Availability
The Dye Ultralite Barrel is newer, so it should be commonly available, both new and used. Check out the Places to Buy links below for places to purchase it new.
any decent sized paint will be fine but midnight and visible impact seem to be some of the best
Strengths:
Light, accurate, decent price.
Weaknesses:
A little weaker than some barrels, just be careful.
Review:
The dye ultralight is a very good barrel for its price, it isn't really that picky about paint but I wouldn't say that you could accurately shoot really cheap paint. I was able to get a 1 and 1/2 foot grouping at 75 feet with midnight paint, which in my book is pretty good. The only thing that you have to watch out for is banging it around as it is a little bit more fragile than other barrels, but if your careful you will be fine.
Conclusion:
It is a good barrel for its price, and it will not let you down.

Review:
hey whats up
had a 14" UL on my ion...shot great...extremely good ball on ball accuracy.
To this day i will stand by that Dye makes the best barrels...the Boomsticks are the nicest and most accurate barrel i have ever used...PPS is good to.
If you are thinkin about getting a freak kit....stop...get 2 dye backs and a tip (if u want multiple bores) for the same price....the freak is ok....but its accuracy isnt special...Dye barrels really are the most accurate barrel out there
smart parts ion, the ul barrel, body kit, blade trigger, firebolt, reloader b, new designz feedneck, new dezignz drop forword w/ on/off asa
Recommended Paintballs:
i used rec elite the most and some seconds paint(wich is terrible)
Strengths:
Very accurate and quite, also very durable.
Weaknesses:
Costs about $100, at least it did when i got it and thats about it.
Review:
Very accurate and quite. I love the barrel it looks nice and very durable( i dropped it onto rocks and concrete from like 4 feet adn hasnt scratched yet!!) iv played in about 3 or 4 tournaments with it and i love it... people ask me if they can barow it when im not playing and people always ask me about them and of course i tell them its great and to go buy one right then... lol overall i love it i got it for xmas i about cried..... haha
Medium to Small bore (.689 recommended) but different sized backs can be bought to fit whatever paint you use
Strengths:
Light
Very Accurate
Good Porting
Looks
Weaknesses:
Gloss finish are hard to find
Scrathes easily
Price
Not self-cleaning
Review:
I tested the Ultralite from my friends DM6 (he was using his St!ffi). i myself had a Stiffi barrel, too, but i wanted to see how the Ultralite was. usually the Ultralites have the bores printed on them but not this one...possibly because it came off the DM6. anyway, from its name "Ultralite", it is indeed...light. though not as light as the Stiffi but thats because its carbon fiber...duh! the accuracy of the Ultralite great, if not better than the Stiffi. it has a good amount of porting (though some people might think its too much) so its relatively quiet. being from Dye, it looks good on almost any gun. i, personally, like gloss finishes, but not many Ultralite barrels come in gloss (except the Boomstick and gloss fronts hard to come by). i tested this barrel for half a day and it was pretty much clean when i first used it. after all the abuse i put it through, it already had a few scrathes on the tip (but did not effect performance). after everything is done and over with....i did not break a single ball in the barrel until i decided to waste some paint...and it didnt really clean itself out very well. i was gonna buy it myself before i got my stiffi...but in my opinion, its overpriced....as with almost any Dye product.
Conclusion:
Great barrel, especially with it coming from Dye. if you have the money, its a great barrel if you want accuracy and good looks. just have that swab/squegee ready for when you break paint.

Review:
Absolutely love this barrel, took it over to park and shot at light poles and it only misses because of my aiming, it fired straight everytime and nailed whatever I pointed it at at any distance the gun could reach, I love how it looks and I love how light it is, although on my proto rail it's one of the heavier parts of my gun.
Conclusion:
Buy buy buy buy buy, couldn't recommend a better barrel, using a freak kit with inserts is such a terrible idea, at high rates of fire the insert can start spinning inside the barrel and killing the accuracy of the shooter. Stick to using backs!
I've been doing fine with xball bronze will try silver next time the field has them
Strengths:
Light, Accurate, Two piece is always better.
Weaknesses:
Doesn't shoot through breaks that great.
Review:
I bought the UL barrel for my PMR while trying to go for the lightest set up I could and I'm entirely glad I did.
I bought a .692 back because as a mid level player I'm still not super concerned about paint match. It will help accuracy to have paint match but most of the time I'd rather have the barrel a little big seems to make shooting through a break easier.
I bought this barrel and immediatly had to rip some paint so I went behind my house with a full hopper and drained it at maybe 30 feet into a very tight 6 inch spread. This was in optimal conditions no wind just chrono'd at 282 +/- 3... i set the gun in a sort of holder and just started tappin the trigger. I thought my boom stick was impressive but this is the same if not better accuracy for less than half the weight.
Now since I have two different fronts i love having the UL being two piece since I can switch between my 10inch and 14inch (10 inch is nicer in the rain less porting to tape up etc...) I love this barrel and completely aprove of it as one of the best barrel I've ever shot. (I also really like the stiffi i shot)
Conclusion:
I'm very pleased with this barrel it fullfils every aspect I feel a barrel should and it does it while looking great.

Review:
I got the barrel around the holidays and it is possibly the greatest upgrade to my ion besides the virtue board. It drastically improves accuracy, distance, weight, and sex appeal. Of all the barrels ive tried for my Ion NONE of them are as good as the DYE Ultralite...its simply too good.
Conclusion:
If you have the money then go out and buy this barrel imediatly...it comes in a variety of styles/colors for whatever color your gun is.

Review:
Th barrel is amazing, OMG! I shot for the first time after i bought it and the accuracy was amazing! Then we got down to playing.I was at a 50 yardline brick and a friend of mine was at a 30 yardline laying-down can. We had gotten it down to where there was three people left on my team and he was the last on his. We were about 50-70 feet away and when he stopped laying down paint on my bunker and turned for a shot on someone else, i came out to snap shoot. My thrd shot exactly goged him and his lenses were instantly orange. I was amazed! It owned! Anytime that I need paint in a spot this barrel puts it right there!
Conclusion:
This barrel is a little pricy but if you have the money, get one, you will not regret it. This is truely a great and well made berrel. Great job Dye!

Flatline(great for range, but expensive), sawed off A-5 stock barrel (sawed to 4 inch. poor range and accuracy, carries velocity well though), smartparts progressive (Great barrel for woodsball, good range/accuracy)
Marker Setup:
TIppmann A-5 w/ Dye Ultralite, ADCO Quik shot, Dead On Blade Trigger, JCS MP folding Stock W/ RVA, ShockTech A5 Superdrop, Sawed off A-5 stock barrel, 4 inch :-p
Zeus G1+ W/ quick cap
Recommended Paintballs:
Evil, X-ball gold or silver
Strengths:
-Amazing accuracy
-easy to clean
-good range
Weaknesses:
-Very Picky with paint
-water-locks very quickly
Review:
Well, to start, i play bushball. This is Not a Bushball Barrel. This barrel, probably shouldn't even come A-5 threaded. its very picky with paint ive found. WIth a Good paintmatch (i found X-ball gold worked well more often then not, silver is Ok, stay away from "walmart brand" paint and other cheaper stuff. Evil works best.) it will out preform anything on the field accuracy wise. I Love it when its working, but 9/10 games its gooped with paint. its great to be able to switch the backs for a different day. Make sure you got the right bore for your paint before any round. Paint swells during the day and the Ultralite doesn't like that. I'm at least 20% of the time i'm swabbing paint outa it. I'd suggest it more for some one with a fancy 'cocker or other high end gun on the speedball side of the spectrum. No good for an A-5 with cheap paint.
Conclusion:
I give this an eight because it is a Very well built barrel and can preform crazy good when a good paint match is found. But if you want to spend the extra on paint, dont get it, it shreds stuff like Zap and X-ball bronze. Look for something different if you play woods or scenario. Possibly JJ ceramic?

Review:
At first, i used the stiffi on my fizzle, but then i thought "hey, what the hell, il try the ul". so i did. there was no comparison. the ul is quieter, more accurate and all over, a much better barell. i compared side by side with the same gun and all different paint in each, it was better no matter what.
only down side is the weight but unless ur a pencil pusher, it dosent matter lol
i have tried every good barell out there and its the best.
1. dye ultralight
2. 2006 freak (bore matching is a plus)
3. site manufacturing stiffi
Conclusion:
Its the shizzle and if u got the cash, go for it, it pwns the noobs
