This is the same as the 06 Ego Star Frames except this comes with the new limited edition Maniac board.
Whats different about the Maniac Board compared to the standard board ?
Well: The R.O.F Rate of fire can be adjusted in Semi/Ramp from 10-25 balls a second.
You can uncap ramp.
You can change the kick in rate of which the gun starts to ramp.
You can change the maintain rate of which the gun continues ramping.
And you can adjust the auto power off function.
Product Availability
The Planet Eclipse Maniac Board is newer, so it should be commonly available, both new and used.

I bought this board from Planet Eclipse as soon as they had it available for sale on their website. It came pre-installed in an 06 STAR frame.
The frame and board was an upgrade for my 05 EGO. Setup was much easier with Debounce levels and tournament presets.
Uncapped ramping was fun to try at the chrono. With my Vlocity loader, I was able to hit rates of fire in the low 20s.
I see no reason to upgrade to this board if you already have an 06 board. The extra features are nice to have, but definitely not necessary.
When Draxxus released the Pulse and RF chip, I found that the Maniac board was not able to properly operate the RF chip. It worked at low rates of fire, but during the game I ended up with a burned out solenoid.
After about 6 months of use, playing every weekend, part of the screen went dead. I sent it in to Planet Eclipse and they graciously replaced the board for free.
Conclusion:
If you are looking to upgrade your 2005 EGO frame and board, prefer optical triggering, and will not use an RF chip with the Pulse loader, this would be a good upgrade.
06 Egos almost as fast but not quit just as accuate though

Review:
This board maks your gun a lot faster and more customizable. You can change how high the ramp goes to, how long it goes for, when it kicks in,and you can uncap semi.
The fastest I have ever shot with my maniac ego is 27bps and that was on semi with the eyes on. This is by far the best gun I have ever used. BUY IT!!!!!
Conclusion:
This is a great gun and is is usually under $1,000 depending on the place you get it. I got mine for $875
Stock 05 ego board

Looks like a Dark Trooper Ego!
Strengths:
More Firepower, Period.
Weaknesses:
None...
Review:
Just got this with the 06 star frame and I love it. Stock settings destroy everything in it's path. Shot perfect right out of the box, but then with a little more tuning it shot even BETTER. This board makes the stock ones look like crap. They are still very easy to navigate you just have to familiarize yourself with all the settings and what they do, after that it's pretty much a little touch here and there and it's perfect. Tournament legal for any league, and all customizable fire modes. This makes even the virtue look like crap because it still supports the LCD which is something I am a VERY big fan of. This board just rips...Period.
Conclusion:
If you are an ego owner and you are searching for something you already sweet ass gat is missing, then get this, you wont be sorry.

Review:
The frame is all preference and has no major changes over stock, so I'm going to center this review more on the board.
I put this on my Ego and set my Critical trigger up with it. I started going through the menu and noticed that everything has been simplified even further. All of the modes are listed under their actual name (PSP, etc) rather then a designated number (Ramp 1, 2, etc). The maniac board can be customized to your liking, very easily. As the description states, the caps can all be extended to 25 bps. So far I've put one pod through it and all I can say is this thing is insane. It doesn't provide as many features as a Tadao, but you still get to keep the LCD which is the main reason I never wanted another board.
Conclusion:
If you want to further the potential of your Ego, but still want to keep your LCD, this is the board for you. I give it a 10.
Rating:
10 out of 10
