The Empire Contact SS Pants 2007 is older, so while it may be available used and in a few cases new, it is not commonly available anymore.
I've used JT, Dye Hybrid and Empire Grind pants in the past 4 to 5 years. The Dye Hybrids and C6's are both nice pants and are comparable. The Empire Grinds aren't even close to the quality of these 07 Contacts.
Marker Setup:
I shoot a 2K5'd GZ, Excalibur, FL Viking, Texas Storm, Ripper, Ripper 2 and Ripper 3 Intimidators. I run a Halo or an Empire Reloader B (and now a Pulse) with a PMI Pure Energy or Crossfire Tank.
Strengths:
A nice comfortable fit with solid knee protection.
Weaknesses:
A bit pricey for what you really get.
Review:
I received these pants in December 2006 and have worn them on several occasions. The first thing that struck me as an upgrade from the 05 and 06 Empire line was the comfort of the fit...especially the flexibility in the knee area. I also liked how the Contact's came with adjustment straps on the hips to tighten them firmly to your waist. Unlike some other brands, these straps are designed to hold tightly and snug both in the front and in the small of your back.
The pockets are a bit small however they do their job exceedingly well. I have the camo version and the fabric/material is a high quality and the digi camo works quite well in the overall design. IMHO the design and execution of these pants are better than the comparable ones from Draxxus or Spec Ops.
From the play perspective, the stitching is very tight and solid. The pants held up to some hard slides and only accumulated mud...which is pretty much what they should have done. I would have liked another pocket for a straight squeegie/swab but the overall design is such that I'm happy with the cohesion.
Conclusion:
I'm a fan of the Contact pants. They're really a pretty good design. They're baggy without being loose and they're flexible in the right spots. It's a solid design and great execution by Empire. Great for recball/tournaments or woodsball.

Ide give it a 11 simply cause of how greatly tsuprized i was with these pants.er spent on the Empire then letting it wither and Dye.

Review:
I got these pants as a Christmas present. I have the camo pattern XXL pants, and they look awesome. These are great pants. I am 6'2" and around 255lbs. and they fit me well. I can get into any position I want and still have the ability to shoot comfortably. They have great padding along the knee all the way down to the shin. There are also nice pads along the hip and a great pad/pack holder on the butt. They contain plenty of pockets for whatever you would need. I can't comment on bounces due to the fact that I haven't got shot in the leg yet while wearing them. They do seem to be nice and baggy, so I am expecting to get bounces. This is a good pant.
Conclusion:
I think this product is great. It is worth the money. I you like the style, I would definetly recommend them.

I ordered these because I liked the way they looked and Empires site claimed they had the best knee padding of any paintball pants.
When I got them, I could immediately tell they do have a decent amount of padding all around. There is decent padding around the crotch area, excellent padding near the hips. The knees are a negative and a positive in comparison to my 06 Reacts. The reacts had much thicker knee padding than these. But the knee pads on these cover more area if that makes sense. It seems to wrap around more. Also, I love the fact that these have slight padding that goes all the way down the shin area because I usually get small cuts on my shins from rocks when playing woodsball.
The pants have zippered front pockets and a small pocket on each side near the thighs for you to keep a barrel swab. They have drawstrings at the bottom of each leg in case they're too long or if you just want to tighten them up. I am 5'8" and have about a 33 inch waist and the mediums fit me perfectly. Luckily the waist has velcro straps which allows you to tighten them up alot (which is what I had to do).
I tried these out yesterday and they felt fine. It was a cold day and these did a decent job of keeping me warmer than my 06 Reacts would have. This is a negative and a positive. In cold weather, all the extra all around padding that these have will help me stay a bit warmer. In warm weather, they are definitely going to make me sweat more than my 06 Reacts would have. These don't seem to have as much venting as my old pants.
Conclusion:
I'd recommend this product because they look nice, have pretty good padding all around (although I wish the front of the knees had thicker padding on them), and they have pretty much anything you could ask for out of paintball pants. The only negative is that they don't seem like they will keep me as cool as some other paintball pants I've worn, but I won't really be sure about that unil I get to wear these in warmer weather.
