Lightweight Airprene Body - The lightweight airprene body is pre-shaped to conform to the natural bend of the elbow allowing the pad to provide ultimate comfort and flexibility.
Dye microinjection logos - Micro injection logos complete the design in typical DYE fashion.
Cup Shaped EVA Foam Elbow Pad - The cup-shaped elbow pad wraps around your elbow for a more custom fit. This goes beyond the pre-shaped fit of the airprene section. The new cup-shaped design was developed to provide you with the most comfortable fit possible.
Hollowed EVA Forearm Padding - This new style of foam wraps all the way around, covering the inner arm and providing more protection. The hollowed chambers of this new foam allow more air circulation around the forearm by keeping areas of the pad away from the skin, giving the pad a lighter feel.
Vent Ports - The new vent ports and 4-way stretch air-mesh offer optimal air flow to your forearms in conjunction with the hollowed EVA foam for the maximum amount of air circulation of any elbow pad available.
Gel Shorts - The gel inserts are highly impact resistant and help absorb brute force created from intense slides and dives.
Adjustable Strap - The adjustable strap allows you to tighten the elbow pad to your liking and helps keep the pad in place.
Integrated Slider Glove - The new integrated Slider Glove acts as a glove without the extra hindrance of covering your fingers. This new comfortable design provides reinforced palm protection to help against abrasive slides, while the back of the Slider Glove features neoprene compression for added protection to the back of the hand. The placement of the Slider Glove helps to prevent the elbow pad from sliding up your arm and offers unrestricted movement allowing you to have maximum control and feel of your marker.
Elastic Finger Loop - The elastic finger loop is an optional way to secure the Slider Glove, keeping the pad in place, but without interfering with finger movement.
The Dye 08 Paintball Elbow Pads are newer, so they should be commonly available, both new and used.
I bought these pads a few days ago, and they are great. When I first put them on and headed out to a game, I got so many bounces out of them, and when I slid and dove, I hardly felt a thing. These pads protect great. My only complaint on them was that the very first day I got them, the stitching on the pad on my elbow ripped. I had to break out a sewing kit to fix it. I think its ridiculous that elbow pads for 50 dollars designed for a brutal sport would hold up better.
- "Glove" a joke
- Very vulnerable to wear and tear
When I first began to play speedball seriously, I began to notice that the old rollerblade style elbow pads I'd been using just weren't cutting it; they slid, they were too rigid, and they were uncomfortable, despite the amount of physical protection they provided. I needed something different.
I checked into DYE's pads, and had seen a few in person. They seemed solid, so I threw down the 50 dollars and bought the camo colored ones. A year later, here are my thoughts.
Because of the kind of gel/padding used, just about any hit to the forearm while wearing these is a bounce. I've had maybe one paintball burst, and that being from well under fifteen feet away. Also because of the kind of gel/padding used, you feel next to nothing when you slide or hit the ground with these; they do what they were meant to do and then some.
Similarly, they don't slip. The "slider glove" (more on this later) ensures that pad stays exactly where it's supposed to. The pads are incredibly comfortable- after the first few minutes, you barely notice you're wearing them. It should be noted, though, that if worn beneath a heavy jersey, these will get toasty.
All this having been said, I wouldn't pay 50 dollars for them again. The "slider glove" is a joke- they threw some paper thin padding on the back of the hand along with some mesh and decided to call it a glove. After a mere six months of normal wear, I noticed a large hole had torn open on the left pad, right where the glove connects to the rest of the arm pad. I tend to play mid/back, so I'm not exactly putting constant pressure on those seams.
While being great arm pads, I wouldn't recommend them for 50$. If you can find them at a lower price, then I would definitely advise picking up a pair. They're functional, comfortable, and work great, but not for 50$.

I bought these in a large, and they go on a little tight. The wrist area is tough to get around alot. But once they are on the fit great, so I'm afraid to buy an XL for fear that the padding will be baggy.
These do get a little hot on those crazy humid days, but its not too bad, i just roll the sleeves up on my jersey.
The bounces are incredible, ive used them over 3 dozen times and ive never had a break on my arms....ever.
they look pretty cool too, and so far they been holding up great to normal wear and tear, besides a little rip in the stretchy part of the wrist that i ripped trying to get them off of my sweaty arms. but the rip hasn't gotten any bigger cuz i just pull em off a different way.
smartparts elbow pads. original dye core elbow pads
Run a size small so get a size up than you would normaly wear.
Well i heard that thease pads run a size to small so i orderd a bigger size than normal. when i got thease pads i put them on right away. they slid on no problem. at first i was concernd about them being to big. but they stayed in place very nice. you also grt bounces very easy.i was in a gunfight on snake tape. and got hit 3 or 4 times on thease pads and none of them broke. the pads also have grippy bunms on them which make snake crawling a breeze. thease pads dont constrict any movement once broken in.
I reccoment this product. if your just back player looking to get bounces there are cheaper alternatives, but you get what yo pay for. t hease are quality pads, as so is most of dye gear
Wraparound pads are incredible!
Attached slider glove.
Slider glove could be better.
I *love* these pads. I never really liked wearing elbow pads because they were bulky and chafed my wrists, but that was before I started using these.
(Strength) Wraparound pads are incredible!
I can't say enough good things about the pad design: The gel pads are aligned along your arm, so when you are diving they point along the ground and don't hinder your slide. As soon as you rotate your arm to start crawling, the pads become giant, squishy traction and make crawling a breeze. I can drag myself along the ground using only my arms (extensively tested :) ), and since you don't need as much leverage, you can stay closer to the ground.
(Strength) Excellent airflow.
Like it says in the description, the gel pads are curved on the inside, leaving channels for air to move between your arm and the pads. This makes the pad feel much lighter and much cooler while wearing it.
(Strength) Attached slider glove.
The slider glove is sewn directly into the elbow pad, eliminating the gap between your glove and your pads, and preventing the pads from chafing as you twist your wrist. The material around your joint is very flexible, and allows full motion. A few people have complained about the price, but if you consider that you're getting very well-designed elbow pads *and* a pair of gloves out of the deal, the price doesn't look bad at all.
(Weakness) Slider glove could be better.
As much as I love the slider glove, the palm needs a patch over the heel, and the back could be a little tougher, to take the sting out of hand shots. I wouldn't be surprised if the '09 version has these exact changes.
If you're in the market for elbow pads, take a good look at these. They are very modestly priced for elbow pads, especially from Dye, and ooze quality from every stitch. *TRY THEM ON* before you buy: I'm 5'10", 160lbs and only the XL fits well.
Gel filled as stated
Covers part of your palm and backhand
I tried on the Large first but it felt like a small, I couldn't even get it past my forearm. Tried the XL and it fit perfect, there's some room around my wrist and halfway up to my elbow but that's cool since the wrist strap allows you to tighten it.
The padding is AWESOME! ssoooooooooo many bounces it's CRAZY. There were a few moments where I swear they broke on my forearms but there nothing at all.
These are pretty comfortable to wear, I'm prettty sure I can use them to sleep.
Not to mention, they look nice :D
The down side is that elbow pads always make me feel hotter but that's really nothing you can control. I live on and island so I'll never play in snow here :P
The price also sucks, DYE always has expensive stuff but they're usually pretty awesome.
Bottom line, awesome product. It IS expensive but so is the sport of paintball. Reguardless though, I have no regrets at all.

OK i ordered these elbow pads online and i took XL thinking that L would fit me fine but when i got them they were fitting just fine (im 6'3'' 235lbs big guy but my forearm are not that big). So i put them on and wow it feel really great and all , you can tigh it around the the wrist .
Game time : i go out to play and i wear them and wow they were breathing really good ,and getting massive bounce i got shot like 10 or so time on the pads and none broke :) .I go to slide (remember I'm a back player not a front ) so i slide and it feel so great not worrying about my forearm getting all scratched up and mess up ).
Except from the sizing it get a 10 so take a size bigger.
I recommend these pads to any front mid player out there .
I bought these for the bounce factor but when i slide it help alot.
