I live in a tropical country, very hot and humid, I play mainly woods and the usual vest are just too hot and heavy for long games, this is the perfect blend between a speedball belt and a milsim vest. The shoulder straps are perfect to balance the weight of the pods plus the tank, my back doesn`t hurt after a full day of playing.
The things I`m missing in this vest are a couple more pod spaces and 1 more pocket to store squeegees, car keys, smoke bomb, etc..
Conclusion:
If you love milsim and live in a hot country, this is the perfect vest for you. just try no to be very trigger happy because you will only have 4 pods lol.
light breathable
Carries a good amount of paint
map pouch and radio pouch
Very secure
Weaknesses:
No protection in front
Not very many pouches
Review:
First of all I can't believe that nobody has reviewed this vest seeing as it's been out forever. Anyways on to the review.
PRO's
It is very light and breathable. This means it is very good on those hot summer days when your running and whatnot. Unlike full coverage vests, this one actually lets air in.
This is called the light infrantry vest so it is not meant to hold that much paint. That being said it does hold 4 pods. I think for most players that is plenty, but if you still need more I believe NxE has a pod expansion kit which adds 2 or 3 extra pods with elastic bands.
The map and radio pouch are nice in long scenarios. The radio pouch can also hold small tools and stuff like that. The map pouch is a nice fold out pouch with a clear plastic cover so you just have to unfold it and look at your map.
The vest has a buckle that goes across your chest and a big velcro strap that you see on most tournament grade packs.
CONS:
I don't really see it as a total loss if you don't have any protection in front, though I do see how some people might see this as a con. I actually like not having anything in front because it keeps me very cool. You be the judge.
As I mentioned earlier, there is a map and a radio pouch, thats it. There is not really any place to keep large tools, grenades, etc. I never really feel the need for these kinds of pouches, but again, some people, especially the hardcore scenario players, might see this as a huge con.
Conclusion:
Overall this is a good vest. I would give it a 10 if I was just applying it to my own needs, but I wrote this review for everybody, so it gets an 8.5 (9). If your like me, get this vest, you won't be disappointed. If your a little bit more hardcore scenario, get something like a SpecOps vest.
