The L7v2 is just 7.1 grams in weight, making it the Lightest Ion bolt in paintball history once again.
The super reduced weight of the L7v2 along with its Hand Polished Teflon Impregnated REDUCED DRAG SURFACES and high flow face make it the best Ion bolt available.
The L7v2 is the latest in Ion bolt technology. It takes speed, accuracy and reduced kick to the highest level in paintball. It literally makes your marker shoot smoother than other marker.
What more reason do you need to shoot one???
Due to the way that the Ion operates, reducing the weight of the bolt allows for the lowest possible dwell settings and the highest rates of fire.
Its commonly known in paintball that the larger you make the firing chamber the more you can lower your gun's operating pressure.
The L7 Bolt takes both of these ideas to the EXTREME!!!
Due to our patent pending <----(fair warning to all the wanna be copy cats) "back plug" design, the L7 has the largest firing chamber of any Ion bolt. This means it runs at the lowest pressures possible.
The new plug is a stationary part that is designed to seal and maximize the size of the firing chamber. The front oring seals the firing chamber, and the back one is used to hold it in place.
This bolt has tested to be the fastest and most accurate (consistent) bolt we at TechT have ever shot.
-It is compatible with all firing chambers and after market bodies. The L7 Bolt System will now work with any:
Ion, Ion XE, Epiphany, EOS, Vibe, SP-1 and SP-8
The TechT L7 v2 is newer, so it should be commonly available, both new and used.
Light weight, free flowing design with increased firing chamber volume.
No installation instructions included. Go surf youtube for install vids.
Ok I'll start with the bad, I believe it's imperative to be critical on everything you review to be fair.
Packaging is lack luster, no cool looking box, and comes with no instructions... and thats about it.... now if this is going to turn you away from this product being it's only weakness... then you have failed in identifying a quality part.
Outside of that we'll start with the actual bolt design. You'll notice it appears as though someone took a stock bolt and cut the entire middle out of it. Well technically that's what has happened. TechT patented a back plug that allows air to flow from it through their design and at the same time decided to lighten the bolt to an extreme level by simply removing what became an unnecessary part - the entire mid section of the bolt.
Aside from the weight reduction, if you stare that the bolt's airflow passages you'll see 3 wide air passages that are designed to pass a large amount of air through, vs many little holes which result in somewhat stopping up air due to all the resistance. What we have here is an extremely low pressure bolt.
Now after staring at the 3 pieces the bolt came with and staring at the stock Ion Bolt, I figured out the install, but for my own peace of mind I youtube'd an install video. Once the bolt was properly lubed up and installed I conducted a firing test in my backyard. Oh forgot to mention, install takes about... 2min or less. Ya everything is ezpz once you know what you're looking to do.
Playing with the settings on my board I started my dwell settings on the minimum of 1, and of course it wouldn't fire, not enough dwell. But what I found was I didn't have to adjust too far from that to begin laying down uncapped ramped up ropes. My dwell settled at 9 at first where I was comfortable with the way it shot, and promptly found myself emptying an alarming amount of paint in an unbelievable short amount of time... for a firing test.
On field the next day at SC Village I found myself chrono'd at 278 with a +/- no greater then 4, and found the Dwell setting held ok at 9 at about 160psi. Played the entire day without any chops (even turned the eyes off, but I did that mainly to see if it was time to buy a new hopper, found my Reloader-B was holding up well enough =P).
Overall I noticed a quieter firing operations, however a louder dry fire, dunno what that means. Also noticed my Ion was just blazing through paint. As a matter of fact I shot soo much that I thought I found a flaw in my dwell because I started getting sick drop off, but it turned out that I simply killed my cheap Rayovac battery (switching to Energizer lol). After resolving the battery issue, it was back to dwell setting at 9 and back to work. In total I blew through 2 cases of paint (expensive yes I know) plus old paint we had wanted to get rid of (old paint.. is old... so did not shoot ropes with crap paint, still fast but inaccurate).
Note, with dwell set at 9 I did notice a bit of drop off, I later settled my final dwell settings to 12 where I found my Ion shooting a bit better two weeks later after a few times out on field with it. The Lvl 7v2 bolt has allowed me to drop my dwell settings very low on my virtue board, and I cannot find any issues that are negatives with this bolt. Nothing but positive gains performance wise.
If you're serious about upping your Ion, and for some ridiculous reason want to rough it out with an Ion over the markers they sell today, then I'd say you have no choice but to buy this bolt. Combine this bolt with a good QEV and a good Board and what you have created is an Ion on PCP, Crack, and Meth because it will do things that Smart Parts probably did not intend it to do. Such as keep up with high end markers rates of fire (you'll need a good board to squeeze the best performance out of this bolt, otherwise stock board + this bolt won't really net you many gains in the ROF department, but should allow you to lower your gun's input pressure).

Redz Ion, w/TechT L7 v2 bolt, Vision laser eyes, 360 QEV, Redz Pepper Stickz 3 barrel kit, Redz Ion drop forward, Redz Ion ASA, Gorilla Air 48/4500 psi stubby with NXE cover, Dye Rotor Loader
Lightweight. Fast. Air Efficient. Easy to install. (assuming you receive the right bolt stop)
Barrel kit came with wrong bolt stop. Had to pay additional for proper one.
This bolt is lightweight, very air efficient and fast, fast, fast, fast!! Did I mention this bolt is fast? It's also very sturdy and well designed. The airflow holes to this bolt are huge! I have set the dwell on my Ion down to 12 with regulator pressure at around 170 and I'm shooting darts! With this bolt and the 360 QEV combination I'm able to shoot about one to one and a half more pods per tank of air. Haven't really gotten to play around with the dwell and pressure too much, but hopefully by this weekend I'll have this marker locked, cocked and ready to rock!! I really love this bolt.
I highly reccommend this bolt. I've read a lot of reviews on other bolts and just about everyone had good things to say about it is the only reason I got it instead of a firebolt or deadly winds. Air efficiency will improve because the bolt is so lightweight and has great airflow to it.
SP Ion - 7th Element Ion Board, NDZ QEV, Epiphany Kit (Stage 1), Halo V2 Hopper
LIGHT, Less assembly and cleaning needed, portability, fast., no recoil, NO STICK.
No instructions shipped with product.
The TechT ION L7 bolt is one of the best, if not the best, bolt for the ION on the market right now and would be an excellent stocking stuffer for the holidays. After putting it into my ION, i re-installed the stock board for the benchmark, and used the medium insert for my epiphany firing can.
I was able to get the dwell on the stock ion board down to the lowest level ALLOWED, and was still able to fire a whole hopper of paintballs without chop, and without sticking.
Then i started turning down the velocity. I was able to fully cycle my gun down to about 168psi. Operating standard is 175-180 stock for an ION.
Ridiculous performance. The only thing is that they made this bolt for a lot of other markers, making them the lightest for their respective markers. But this bolt is a must have ION upgrade. Don't buy the firebolt, get this bad boy.
Pair this with a good eye sensor, a great hopper and an ion, and you will be firing this gun like a ego, mini, and shocker, GUARANTEED.
