The consistency and reliability that you get for the price is unmatched. Most stock barrels suck but this barrels allows my next upgrade to be a remote instead of another barrel. The vertical feed allowed me to rattle off shots without a single ball break (out of 1500 rounds). I love the colors and the rubber grip. Other people caomplain about cramped pinky fingers but you wont have to worry if you have regular human hands. Dual sights on the beaver tail are nice but useless since you can fire at will and get pretty close. Definetly worth the money.
Weaknesses:
The elbow that comes with it makes the hopper sit way up there. No cure for that so I'll have to get over it. A little back heavy, especially with a bigger tank.
Conclusion:
This is a great marker! I would recommend it to anyone that's not getting an Autococker. I only recommend making sure that all screws are tight before you play.
Gun is nicely weighted, great anodizing job, easy adjust velocity, comes ready to fire right from the box. Everyone complains about the barrel but it's pretty good for a stock barrel. Any Spyder seems to have an unusual kick that keeps you from a good rate of fire, I don't know why but this is great to fire bursts plus constant in. I currently have about a $900 ShockTech Autococker and this gun for $170 does a good job comparing to it for a fraction of the cost. I also like that it comes with the vertical feed adjustable feed extender rather than making you look for one. I fired about 100 constant shots to put the vertical feed to the test and it never skipped a beat. Anyone thinking of getting the Shutter PLEASE GET THIS INSTEAD!!! You won't be sorry and instead of the TL+ spend the extra $10, for it you get Vertical Feed, and awesome two tone anodizing job, and a much better barrel which even has an o-ring to seal it with a muzzle break like a Boomstick. Waht i love is this takes Dye Sticky grips and any other 45 frame grip, stock is comes with a great rubber one though!
Weaknesses:
The gun is a little tall and if you have a 20 oz and not much paint left it can be a little unbalanced. The drop forward's paint job is a little short of the rest of the anodizing quility but still looks great. Other than those few minor problems every gun has, this is about as good as you can get.
Conclusion:
Everyone will probaly asking what the specs that are different are so here they go:
-Vertical Feed!
-2nd Gen Venturi Bolt
-Chrome Beavertail (looks awesome)
-Comes with macroline hose and drop forward
-12" Micro-Polished Muzzle Brake Barrel
-Gas Thru-two toned fore grip
-45 frame with rubber wrap around grip
-New cocking grip
-Wrench free velocity adjustment nob
and a few other small things
This gun is awesome and not only just for the price, you should get it over any other $150-$250 semi-auto and i've had most of them.
Looks, price, performance.
Nice in-between finish - not the spyder, but more flashy than the base spyders (and its not super flashy so it wont give you away)
For the prive, this is a great value.
Nice features - straight feed, drop forward, rubber grip...
Hasn't broken a ball yet.
Weaknesses:
I guess the barrel, but it is pretty accurate out of the box.
Finish on the drop forward was a little spotty.
Conclusion:
I would reccomend this gun to anyone that wants a great gun at a great price, and that doesnt need a $1000 gun. Works great out of the box, but upgrades are easily found and would probably help the performance. Go order it!
This gun is great. It performs like guns costing 3 times as much. It is very, very, easy to cock. I can cock it with my pinky! The Xtra scores major points for style and appearance. Mine is green and it looks awsome. The stock barrel is a spyder TL barrel and it works great. I dont see a reason to upgrade to another barrel any time soon. The Xtra is also easy to take apart. I haven't broken one ball yet with it yet. Its very accurate and it has a fast rate of fire. The grips are also very cool.
Weaknesses:
I havent found anything wrong with it yet!
Conclusion:
This gun performs very well stock. Its worth every penny it cost me. I would recomend this gun to anyone. Good job Kingman!
I was torn between a TL or a Shutter than i saw the ad for the XTRA and i was sold on the verticalfeed. I took my new gun to the field shot 2500 balls through it and had no breaks. I did ad a JT barrel and the gun is dead on now , i even took out some players that had real expensive guns and like i say its not the gun its the player. I also added dye sticky grips for o better look and i have to say there is nothing wrong with this gun. Unless you have the money to blow on a Angel or a good Cocker this is what i would recomend to buy for beginners or advanced players.
Weaknesses:
Nothing at all . the Stock barrel is ok but if you can ubgrade
Conclusion:
For the price this is the best gun around . There is no ballbreak and very easy to clean.
I recomend this gun very highly.
This is a really nice new gun, the vertical feed is great, the side mount on the beavertail for sight or laser is cool, i was new to that but i got used to it. The trigger is a very light pull, fires extremely quick, 45 grip is good, the deluxe drop forward for your air system is nice too, I am really happy with the spyder xtra. After reading reviews on the 14" J&J CERAMIC barrel i bought one for $55 and waiting for it to get here.(the stock is good but i want my shots really tight)
Weaknesses:
the deluxe dropforward is attached to the bottom of the 45 grip a little to close so if you have a large hand your pinky might feel a little cramped.
Conclusion:
It's worth the money, I reccomend this gun to anyone looking in this price range, the upgrade barrel was not nessecary, but I wanted to get one cuz I had the money. I would say this gun is a step up from the Spyder TL, the TL and Xtra were the guns I was between and for only about $10 difference you get a vertical feed, nice beavertail, and great drop forward
