Spyder TL Plus
Marker Setup: Spyder TL Plus, 14" Dye Boomstick, HPA 68ci 4500 psi, 12v revi w/ x-board, kapp drop zone II
Recommended
Upgrades:
change the stock barrell and get a nitro tank and definetly a 12v Revolutions (w/ the x-board) to handle the very Fast Rate of Fire.
Strengths: Exellent gun, not too heavy, and shoots very very fast.
Weaknesses: A little too loud for a Spyder. Not too accurate with the ugly stock barrel. Not sure if I like the X-chamber. You can't seem to remove the X-chamber.
Conclusion: Great gun out of the box....Even better with a few modifications. Even though the gun is pretty loud, I changed the barrel to a Dye Boomstick and lowered the pressure and is not pretty quiet.

This is my first electro marker, my other markers are, Spyder TL plus, Tippmann M. 98, GT Commando 2, zap point zero, none of these markers compare to the AMG.
Marker Setup: all stock, I also use a coiled remote to help keep liquid C-02 from entering my gun, and I also use a 12 volt vl hopper.
Recommended
Upgrades:
Barrel, Stock barrel is decent but there are also alot better barrels out there.
Strengths: I have been playing with it since December and I have'nt had any ploblems with it, only a couple of ball breaks, rate of fire is awesome, short trigger pull, stock reg works good.
Weaknesses: The Brass cup seal in my AMG started leaking after 1 week ,replaced it with the cup seal from the TL Plus ,works great.

Not alot of upgrades yet.
Conclusion: Great electro for the money, nice features

spyder compact, gt commado 2, piranha ext
Marker Setup: Spyder Amg Classic--> stock--> compressed air tank--> 3,000psi 68ci carbon fiber wrapped(850 preset output)
Recommended
Upgrades:
compressed air / new barrel
Strengths: -super light trigger
-looks nice
-full auto
-electronic trigger.
you blow on the trigger hard enough and it will shoot your ass! rarely chops balls. ive had less then 6 balls chop on me, using a case of generic test balls. and yes i am poor.
Weaknesses: -super light trigger(i can barely afford balls as it is. really easy to get trigger happy)
-accuracy/stock barrel suck(probably because of the generic balls i used, but i would def think about getting a new barrel)
-160 dollar compressed air tank. it cost more then most paintball guns!
-watch out for your velocity, you might need to cut your spring. i was shooting at 370fps first time taking it out.
-little heavy, but no matter, me strong. and no, that wasnt me crying like a little girl on the field after getting shot. i swear.
i also jacked up the stock barrel. i used crappy balls. AND was low on air. im sure this gun would shoot a lot better if i wasn’t such an idiot.
Conclusion: great gun. expensive though. i over paid for mine because i wanted it that day. look around on ebay(store taxes will kill you). the only difference between amg classic and amg is the lcd screen. save yourself a $100 and screw the lcd screen, use the switches. they're the same gun. the best advice i have: i wouldn’t recommend this gun to new/beginning players. its to much money, and you will mess it up. buy yourself a nice $100 spyder compact 2-in-1 and learn how to take care of it first. you will get the same results without the looks. the biggest difference is the multi mode electronic trigger frame which you can't use at paintball fields anyway. the gun doesn’t make the paintball player.. and the best advice ive heard is to buy yourself a nice thermal mask. i would take a pump gun any day rather then have fogged goggles. if you cant afford thermal goggles, buy anti fog lenses or spray...... im giving this gun a 9 because i paid to much money to give it anything lower. awesome gun though

I've only used rental M98s...so I don't have a good bases to compare my gun to...
Marker Setup: AMG, 12V rev, PureEnergy HPA.
Recommended
Upgrades:
12V revvy.......standard hopper would make ya chopp balls like Benihana chef.

AMG is little hard to upgrade than your regular spyders, because it is constructed a little different from all the other Spyders. For example, it doesn't have a Low Pressure Chamber, but instead has a X-chamber, which is not screwed in to the body like all of the other spyders. (The x-chamber is secured with two screws that goes through the whole length of the x-chamber and in to the body of the gun.)

I'm currently trying to figure out how to put the palmer regulator on my AMG in place of the x-chamber..... But I can't figure out how to do it ! Any suggestions ? Plz e-mail me.
Strengths: It's a Electro ! So, it's easy to get a high ROF without getting your little fingers all tired. (You can do full auto, 3 shot, 6 shot... all with adjustable ROF)

The stock barrel seems to be fairly accurate. At least, compared to the rentals, I've used.

The price ! I've got it for little bit more than 250$ ! (BTW, mine is a classic) There really is no need to go for deluxe with the LCD for more money.
Weaknesses: I've only taken the gun out once. I just got the gun few weeks ago, and it's too cold to play now.

Only thing that is bothering me about this gun is that my HPA tank is so hard to screw out ! I don't know if it's the tank or the gun is at fault. Is this normal ? (I'm a noob, e-mail me if you know the solution or had similar experience)

This probably isn't the gun, but the ball was breaking in the barrel (like 1 out of 4 shots) during the morning when it was still below freezing. It maybe because I was using (gasp !) Brass Eagle paint ! ( I didn't know better....it was really cheap) On top of that, I think I was shooting a little hot. LIttle over 300fps. Once the weather warmed up later on in the day, it shot great ! (Even with Brass Eagles)

Conclusion: For about a 100$ more I could have gotten a Autococker, which has more upgrade path and is a better gun (Quieter, more accurate, can be just as fast)

Although, I find myself wanting a cocker still, I think that this is a good starter gun for a beginner/intermediate player with a medium budget, who must have an electro ! For little more than 250$, u can't beat it.

I give it a 9 for being an solid electro with a really good price. I deduct 1 point for lack of upgrade path due to non-standard design. ( TO Spyder staff: For crying out loud, start using METRIC on hoses and connectors please !)

I really look forward for parts specifically made for AMGs to come out in the near future.

Upgrades:
not a whole lot, its hard to even pimp it out, it comes with some nice stuff
Strengths: I have a fast finger and if you get a 12v hopper/compressed air. then it will go as fast as you. nice trigger response, for fun the auto mode is always a plus but can get you kicked out of a lot of parks if it is on.
Weaknesses: Well besides the nitro and hopper. nothin much
Conclusion: Well its definatly about time that spyder came up with something that doens't karate chop every freakin ball in the gun. and 500($499) its a damn good gun.

Strengths: So far, this gun has been good to me. It's very accurate, and it shoots as fast as I can fire. Rarely breaks a ball, if used with compressed air. The trigger is nice, and the feel is nice as well.
Weaknesses: You definately need to use compressed air, otherwise it isn't that great of a gun.
Conclusion: Overall, if used with compressed air, this gun is good. And it can be excellent if the player knows what he's doing. So, yes, I would definately recommend this gun.
