This rear velocity adjuster will make your Tippmann Model 98 even more efficient, and accurate that you could ever imagine. By using only enough air to sucessfully shoot at the desired speed, you will maintain better accuracy, and use less gas. We took the design of the original Tippmann rear plug and redesigned it into the masterpiece that you see here. It's made of billet aluminum, and polished. We use a brass set screw to hold the adjuster bolt in place and to make sure that the threads won't get messed up..
Product Availability
The Ballistic Sports Rear Velocity Adjuster is older, so while it may be available used and in a few cases new, it is not commonly available anymore.

Strengths:

Weaknesses:
everthing about this thing is horable
Review:
This is a total waste of money. when i put this thing on my gun it would no longer shoot right and i couldent get it to shoot right for the life of me. now i am a person who know alot about guns and how to get them to work but i think this is impisoble to get to work. do not buy this you will be very mad you did.
Conclusion:
this thing is junk you will not leave this on your gun unless you dont want your gun to shoot right anymore.
This is one of the most stupid things I bought for my Tippy. I think it does what it says it should, but I've had loads of problems like balls being lobbed from it. The tournament lock screws fall out (I've lost one) and if you tighten them too much they mess up the main screw threading. Hold it too close to our mask, you scratch the mask. I've also had double firing, gun uncocking and all kinds of other problems with it.
Conclusion:
Do not buy this, unless you're convinced you can make it work. Its a stupid piece of equipment, try a diffrent RVA if you want one.

Tippmann 98 Custom
16 oz Co2
Rocket Cock
32 degrees Whisper Barrel
Crosman Red Dot Sight
Polished Internals, Silenced Action
Strengths:
looks unique
Weaknesses:
Velocity is consistent, but crappy! jumps all over the map
180-280-190-290- etc high low high low
hard for accuracy, i got sent home because i couldnt chrono in properly, sometimes i would get a good reading and others would be too high
easy to catch screw when moving and messes up your fps
Conclusion:
dont waste your money on this
stick to using your FVA
custom m98, 20" stone cold II, drop forward, polished internals, double trigger, 12 vlt revy w/xboard, response trigger, 20 oz co2 tank w/on off valve, the perfect combat/sniper gun. i HIGHLY SUGGEST THE STONE COLD II 20'' FOR any one who wants extreme accuracy, or just a fancy long butt barrel.
Strengths:
gosh diddly darndidly nutin.
-i made money selling it...
Weaknesses:
-do you really want to pay 10 dollars for a piece of plastic with a screw?
-it jinxes your velocity
-it made my gun freeze up
-it caused the bolt to go forward but not come back,
-and sometimes it made it go full auto (which isn't a good thing).
Conclusion:
LISTEN TO THIS:
-this product doesn't work on the custom m98, but for some reason it works great on the original m98, I sold it to a friend who owns an original m98 and now his gun shoots like a cannon with better accuracy.
-possibly it doesn't work well on my gun because I have an rt? dont see why it wouldnt work, but for those of you looking for a reason why it might not, that could possibly be it.
-my suggestion is, DONT fool around with rear velocity adjusters on the m98, the custom m98 spring was not meant to have more tension/less tension administerd to it.
but hey, I sold it to someone with an original m98, and ive seen the improvement it makes on his gun.
Im giving it a 2 because it doesn't work at all for the m98 custom users, but it does for the original m98 users????
It will bend your drive pin if it is too tight
it looks like butt on your gun
it will turn by itself if you run with the gun
Conclusion:
I would not recomend this product, if your gun velocity is high, and you use this to lower it, your drive pin will bend. When this happens, it catches your drive spring and bends that too. Unless you got back ups on the field, plan on using a rental the rest of the day.
I bought it for 10 bucks and sold it to a person on the field for a dollar. I told him what would happen if he used it wrong.
